CG is one of my favorite restaurants at WDW. The food is excellent and the view is incredible.
We enjoy having dinner in the dr but also will sometimes opt to sit in the lounge (all adult party) or at the shushi bar and just make a lite dinner of sushi and appetizers. They have great flatbreads and shushi.
I agree that we found the servings on the smaller side at CG ---- unlike the great majority of Disney restaurants. We would definitely plan to split an appetizer and know that we'd probably have room to split desert, too. The food was excellent.
I'm sure people are tired of hearing me rave on CG but....here I go again!
Every time I am at WDW.....this is the ONE place I have to eat at. The food is fantastic....sushi is excellent, the goat cheese raviolis are superb, the fillet with a tamarind bbq sauce is outstanding, and whichever dessert you pick.... is outstanding. *Yes I do order 3 courses but can never eat all of all 3!!* They have a great wine list and every time I have gone...I always ask the servers what they suggest and they are very friendly. (I have seen a few folks who ahve had bad service...which is unfortunate!) In all of the times I have been there, I have not had bad service. (I even planned a private party there for a group of physicians while I was a mtg planner and had the most incredible service!!!)
It is VERY easy to get to and from the MK. Just hop on the monorail or take a short walk!
As for requests for seating........they do the best they can but they simply can't accomodate everyone. SOMEONE has to sit in the middle of the restaurant or on the opposite side. With that said...the entire wall is glass.....you should still be able to see the fireworks even if your nose isn't right up to the glass IF NOT....take a walk out onto the observatory deck! The view is amazing!!!!1
