Not picking on any one topic or group, but just curious does anyone else feel this particular forums has more than it's share of off topic threads?

I mean the description for this forum is:This is the forum to discuss touring plans and strategies for the Disney World theme parks.

And sometimes I just don't see the relationship between the thread and theme park touring. :confused3

I guess there is a fair share of off topic threads. But it doesn't bother me, I just click on what looks interesting and ignore whats not. And no offense, but you realize you've just created that type of thread yourself ;) ? And I found it interesting so I clicked! Seriously, I know what you mean, but I guess they can't have a separate category for everything. And generally if something gets really off topic or nasty the moderators (God bless em) will close it down.

Yes, I sure would, especially complaints. It has nothing to do with Parks and Park Strategy, I know I can pass them up, I do about 75% of the time, and if I do click on them, I really regret it. The pattern in them is SO predictable. BUT, have to agree with Amy&Dan, that's what THIS thread is!!! :rotfl2:

After reading the "crocs" thread, swore I wouldn't click on that stuff again and here I am!!! I guess I've often felt like writing the moderator and asking for a "complaints thread" or move them to the Community Board.

Hehe... sounds like a good idea to me.

If you actually read the "I hate Crocs" thread, you will find that most of the posters think the Croc questions and threads are too off-topic for this forum and think they should be moved, myself included.

Yes, I did "actually" read pretty much all of the crocs thread and while I agree that Crocs questions are better answered on the community board, most Crocs threads are questions asking about opinions on how comfortable they are for walking in the parks, not an entire LONG thread on crocs bashing and complaints and tasteless remarks about how they look. Perhaps that's an opinion, and that's great, but better left to somewhere else.

The OP in that thread began one a few days ago also on complaints about what he/she saw in MK which also began and entire long thread on people bashing and tasteless remarks about peoples behavior in general. I do think that while giving opinions is fine and people CAN pass up these threads, a "Complaints Forum" would be nice for this purpose and these things better left unsaid on the "Theme Park Attractions and Strategies" Forum.

There are some threads we leave up because they're fun (games, etc) and make a nice break from the purely 'factual' threads. Otherwise, we do our best to keep up with the off topic threads. Some slip through for a while, but I think you'll find very little on TPA&S today that's off topic.

Please bear in mind, not every topic will be acceptable to every poster. Those that do not meet your needs can best be handled by hitting the Back button. If they are really bad, and we miss the nasty part, please hit Report Post.

Am I in The Twilight Zone or something? Or was this post originally on the Trip Planning Forum.

Here is the description of The Community Board:

Join our moderators in a discussion forum for any topic, Disney or otherwise. Swap stories, information, ask questions...just be friendly :)

That makes this thread make a little more sense. I was beginning to wonder how I was so confused. Although according to DW that is a common state with me at times.

I just signed on and thought I was nuts. Had to check, yep, I'm on the right board! :teeth:

Whew! Okay thanks. I thought I was losing it.

When I read the OPs first post my mouth dropped open until I realized that it must have originally been posted on a different forum. :rotfl2: Glad I wasn't the only one. :teeth:
