Your Input on resort prices 10 years ago?

Thanks for doing this! Really interesting comparison! Looks like prices are similar, adjusting for inflation. But demand has gone up, with the new resorts--Various DVC Villas, Pop Century, AKL. So it seems Disney is meeting higher demand with more resorts, and keeping prices fairly even. Works for me!!!

Our first stay on property was in 1987 – my parents paid $99 a night at the Polynesian as a Florida Residents' discount. Even then this seemed like a bargain. Does this sound reasonable?

disney had problems starting is 1999 - that is when they stopped Pop.

it has not gone back to 1997 WDW park occupation as of yet. (okay this might have changed)

So that was a very, very good year for Disney. then when 9/11 happened - it was even worst.

they only started to get better in 2003.

but the rate has been generally 5% increase - except for a few years when it was 11% (two rate prices that year).

so if you are going forward - I would go with 7 or 8% increase.

I have the 2006 room rates I can send to you if you want them.
