Ok, I know many of us, if money were no object would love to stay for a month or more at WDW. But, if you are going on vacation with DH, DD & DSIL and DGS (1) and DGD (3) and DS (17), what do you think would be the ideal # of nights stay and how would you divide the time? We will stay onsite and not go to any other Orlando attractions, just WDW. It will be the first time for DSIL and my grandchildren.

What if it is just DH and yourself, and you both love WDW, what is the ideal # of nights stay?

What is the usual # of nights you stay with your family and what would you prefer?

Thank you!
Lori

We usually do 11 nights, 10 days. The last trip was 14 days, and me and my significant other (at the time) flew down alone for the first half of the trip then I flew the boys down for the second half. We divide the time by having a very loose itinerary and do what we want on most days- deciding the night before what we will do the next day. That is one of the nice things about longer trips, you don't have to adhere to a rigid schedule :)

Blessings.

I would say that you would need at least 5 full days to really enjoy yourself and not have to really push yourself. I think it also depends on what time of year you are going since at times the parks close earlier.

7 - 8 nights.... we stayed for 10 nights a few years back and it was actually too long. :o

I'm gonna vote for 7-8 nights. Too. I have never stayed less than 7, the most being 10. I think 7-8 was ideal. You can see a lot, and still not feel rushed. Especially if I'm w/ extended family ;) . We will be trying a 14-16 day trip this Feb, and I'm sure by the 10-11 day I'm going to be ready to come home.

We go for 13 nights, 12 days and it is perfect for us. We have young kids and usually a group of 8 or more people. We don't like to be rushed and it takes longer to get around with little ones. It is nice to have a down day now and then to just hang out. When DH and I went on our disneymoon 7 days was plenty. We got things done much quicker, but AK wasn't opened yet and MGM was very new and much smaller.

We normally stay 7 or so nights. This year, we are staying for 14 day/13 nights. we will see how this one goes. Usually on 7 nights, I feel very rushed to see everything and we don't end up with much down time or pool time. This time, we have the 30 day FITS pass and won't feel like we have to try and squeeze everything into park days.

Our stays are usually 2 weeks 2 times a year... I know its excessive but we do it anyways. And once a year we tack on the 4 night cruise or we substitute the 7 day and don't stay as long in WDW.

We usually stay 10 nights. While I would opt for a longer stay, DH is ready to go home.:(

I would have to vote for 10-11 nights. I like to arrive at the beginning of the weekend, then go all through the next weekend, then start to get ready to go home on tuesday or wednesday the following week. I would love to stay longer, but 10-11 nights is just about right. The first time was 5 nights and was way too short, next time was about 8 nights and still too short.

I like 7 nights. I've stayed 9 once and may do that again sometime, but 7 is just about right for me.

We stayed 7 nights. We only did the 4 main parks. I think that was enough time. I still was not ready to leave the resort and go back home. My DD age 4 said - but we dont have a monarail @ home, or candy on our pillows. We don't even have a pool.

What we do have is a plan for another stay next year. hahaha:)

I vote for 10 nights. My DH would probably make do with less, but it seems to work out for us in the end. Plenty of down time and we aren't rushed. That's why we got the DVC membership.

We generally stay 8 days/ 7 nights. I would like the trips to be 1 or 2 days longer.

We generally do nothing arrival and departure days (when we drive our departure is usually 6:00 am). We spend 5 park days - 2 MK and one day at each of the other parks. As the kids get older I think we will start spending a second day at Epcot.

We have one down day - usually go to the beach (have friends that live in Cocoa Beach).

I would love to have one more down day to just lay around the pool, or visit other Orlando attractions.

7-10 days is a perfect amount of time. You will have time to do the parks, but also time to relax and wind down at the resort. :D

We stayed for 8 full days and nights and travelled home on the 9th day. Personally, I would have liked the entire 9th day to hang by the pool and/or shop at DDT. For my kids, it was one day too long and my oldest son was happy to be "getting back to normal' (his words). My husband can't be away more than 7 days, no matter how good of a time he's having.

I think one needs 8 solid days to thoroughly see and repeat the favorites at all the theme parks and enjoy some of the resort ammenities, too. (Once on Kali River Rapids wasn't enough for my kids.) In all that time, we never made it to DDD. Too tired for the night out we'd planned.

So far we've done 5 nights, 6 nights, and 6 nights, and none of those have been long enough! Next month we're doing 8 nights. We're planning on doing 14 nights next year - woo hoo!

We have done 5, 6, and 8 nights at WDW. This trip we're doing 6 nights as we will be doing 2 more at Universal.
