Your HHN Dates

you will not see crowds until about 3ish. people start coming in then to do a few rides and be in the park to go to the S & S area.

the mornings are quite light.

Thanks for that - so I'm not likely to need to buy a VIP pass?

are you talking about buying the express pass plus for HHN or take a VIP tour?

I just checked them out online, I see express plus gives you quick access only once per ride where as the VIP allows you quick access on each ride multiple times. Probably only interested in express plus and I can see when we want to go is the lowest price. So I thought that might mean it's not necessary.

let me explain some of the terms used for universal on the passes and extras

the fotl/front of the line, is a perk that is free when you stay onsite at the hotels. you can use the express lane anytime for all rides/shows/attractions.
it is unlimited usage, you can ride as many times you want by using the express lane. the fotl is only valid for regular park hours. it is not valid for hard ticket events such as HHN.

the express pass plus can be bought by any guest that is at the park. the tickets cost between $15 - 45 a day per park. it depends on the date for the cost of them. the expass pass plus is valid in using the express lane only one time for each ride/show/attraction. it keeps you from waiting in long lines. once you have used your e.p.p for Mummy, you would have to use the regular line to ride the mummy again.

the VIP tours is run by the tour company at the park. it is arranged in advance for your group. it allows that group to do everything they want.
you can do rides more than once, do the shows, etc.
check out the website for more details on that. it is not cheap.

the RIP tour/rest in peace is a tour up to 12 guests maximum. the sign up for that has not been released yet. depending on if you attend hhn on a non peak night or a peak night, the tour would last 4 or 5 hours.

this allows the group to by pass lines for houses and shows.
what you will see depends on what the majority in the group wants to do.
some groups want houses, others may be more interested in walking around the park and catch the rides and shows.

there is a separate ticket besides the HHN hard ticket for express to see the houses and shows and rides.
the prices are on the universal website, halloweenhorrornights.com

this express pass is for HHN only. it allows you to bypass the regular line and use the pass one time only for the houses/shows/rides for the night.

i'm not sure if you are talking about the HHN events or a regular day in the parks. therefore, i tried to list express pass and vip tour set up briefly to you. hope it helped.

So many choices - thanks for all the info! As we are coming so far we want to be able to get the best bang for our buck!

I am meeting a friend there on Friday, 10/10. We're having a margarita before the tour. But not too many. Bathroom breaks during HHN can be tricky.

have you on the list.
now we are all waiting for the RIP tour info to come out...

I haven't bought the tix yet, but DH & DS will be there either 10/12 or 10/16

Any RIP tours gathering for those dates?

i usually start a thread once the RIP tours info has been released to the public.

the ones that are looking for others, can pm them or post on the thread.

that is what i did last year and found 5 others to join for the same night.

some dates can be blocked out for rip tours so we have to wait to know the available dates.

andrea, i remember you from last years thread about hhn.
how old is your son?

DS is 12.

Very psyched that he'll actually make it this year!
And it will be DH's 40th Birthday!

DS has been to "real" haunted places that stage events -- Eastern State Penitatary in Philly -- He is fine with most of it, but he hasn't built up to going into solitary confinement at Eastern State -- I think the Ghost Hunters episode from Eastern State persuaded him to NOT do the solitary -- Which was great for me because I would have killed DH for spending the ridiculous amount of money they charge to lock you up & video tape you!

I am getting my S & S now. yeah!:cheer2:

Sign em up for 10/12 & 10/16!

WOo HOO.............i called and ordered my HHN tix and the EPP last Wednesday.
