your favourite Christmas cookie?

I looooove sugar cookies with sprinkles. They are such a pain to make but I love em! Also, my friend makes these ricotta cookies and they are incredible with this super icing....yum :D :D

If you can post the ricotta cookie and icing recipe, either here or on the recipe board, I'd be grateful!

:flower1:

I bake cookies all year long for DH's workplace, but for Christmas my family favorites (and I like them all  are Chocolate Covered Cherry, Stir and Drop Sugar, Peanut Butter Blossoms (the ones with the kiss on top), gingersnaps, Cinnamon Butter Sugar, and Chocolate Whoppers. I could go on and on and on :teeth:
Always have to try some new ones each year as well.

My Grandmother makes them and they are my favorite, YUMMY. :)

I like the classic sugar with icing and sprinkles in Christmas cut-out shapes.

I love jam thumbprints...especially when rolled in chopped pecans. *drool*

I make a recipe called snowballs. They're basically a mexican wedding cake/russian tea cake cookie wrapped around a Hershey's kiss. They taste real good but usually they spread out in the oven and resemble sombreros more than snowballs. But I have a new oven this year with a convection feature that I used to bake these and they actually look like snowballs! I love these cookies. My second favorite would be M & M cookies made with Holiday M & Ms.

I love my sugar cookies. All beautifully iced and decorated

Runner ups are peanut blossoms, spritz and pizelles.

My sugar cookies tend to be a favorite with my family members because I use butter frosting. My absolute favorites are Spritz cookies. They have to be bright green, too. If they are just plain colored or a faded color they don't taste the same :)

My favorite ones to make are spritz, candy cane cookies, old fashioned almond toffee, cookie dough fudge, cut-outs, and peanut butter balls.

I really like kolashkies, might even make some this week. My next fave would be CC cookies made with both Nestle Tollhouse chips and Ghiradalli (sp?) double chocolate chips according to the Nestle package recipie.

Another vote for the sprinkled sugar cookies! :cheer2:

Oh, I have more than one, but I love peanut butter blossoms - those are my favorite besides cut-outs with icing and sprinkles.

Definitely sugar cookies with the icing, but only if they are cut in christmas shapes! :p

My Grandma's Church Window Cookies. Bascially just melted chocolate & marshmallows, topped with nuts or coconut and rolled into a frozen log. Yummmm!!

I just bought a box mix of these today at Sam's. I can't wait to try them out.

I bought that box mix from Sam's too....we just got done baking the rest of the packages this weekend (we did the one pkg last week) and they turned out REALLY good.

My favorite cookies this time of year and anytime of year really are my moms chocolate chip cookies.....I just LOVE them!!!

Spritz! Haven't had one since I was a kid.

Then I would have to say Michigan Rocks. Boy, do they sit in your stomach! LOL!

Mmmm, kolashkies! (Is that really how it's spelled, Piglet? I've always wondered about that!)

Of course, the last time I tried to make kolashkies, my brother and his friends were upstairs playing Nintendo Power Pad (yep, this was years ago!) and they were pounding so hard on the floor, the fluorescent light above the kitchen table shattered all over my cookie ingredients! :( Nothing says "Happy Holidays" like a Christmas cookie filled with glass shards! LOL!

These days I stick to plain ol' chocolate chips! Much safer! ::Grin::

We make some called Sand Cookies. Basically it's a very thin sugar cookie with sprinkles to decorate.

That's neat! We make cookies called "Sands" and they are not like that at all! They are light, crescent shaped and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Delish!

Ok,, can we start a Christmas Cookie Recipe Thread! I must have some of these I've been reading about! After dinner I'll to post one of mine if someone can start the thread! I think it'd be quite popular and yummy!
