Hi everybody,
Just wondering...If you could pick 1 week to go to WDW without worrying about missing school or work, which would you choose? My personal criteria would be lowest attendance and decent weather. I normally go in October but it seems like October is getting busier every year.

I would go the first week of December. Low crowds and it's our anniversary week. We got married at Disney so it will always be a special time and place for me.

The first week of December has been our annual trip to WDW for the last 3 years. For the same reasons listed above. Plus, we love seeing the Christmas decorations all in place and the holiday spirit that permeates the parks. A wonderful time to visit the World.

Lot's of people in the know pick the first week of December, so I'd go with the 2nd week of December. With that said, we went the 1st week of December in 2010 and crowds were great. That week, that year, however, had near record lows, so it was a bit chilly.

Yes first week in December but we cannot go then because of school.

We really like the first week in May but would love to go in November to be able to see the holiday decorations. My DH company doesn't allow vacation from Thanksgiving till the end of February so December is out for us.

Our anniversary is at the beginning of Nov. and one of these days I will plan an adults only trip.

Another vote for the first week of December here! We are in the dreaded "can't miss school" years now, but the moment we get over this hump (is 8 years too long to qualify as a hump?:scratchin), we are right back to early December travel! If the Christmas Season is a feel good for you at all...that time of year is second to none at WDW! The potential for cooler weather is icing on the cake for us. The crowds are growing then, as they seem to be overall, but that wouldn't deter us in the least for that time frame!:thumbsup2 We're tackling Easter for the first time this trip and I'm shaking in my boots!!:scared:

We like the last week of October, first of November. This year we're going the first week of December.

We did the 1st week of December in 2010 and LOVED it!! During our stay they had record low temps so it was a tad bit cold..but went perfect with all the Holiday decorations and theming!! Very low crowds made it a perfect trip!!

Just the DW and I went back the 1st week of OCT in 2011 for the F7W festival. It was also a great time to be there. Low crowds at the parks and great weather!!

Our next trip is scheduled for the 2nd week of May 2015...anxious to see how crowds and weather are at that time.......

We really liked the second week of December. The Christmas stuff was really great but it was really too cold to swim (my DD and went anyway(Brrrrr)). We would like to try during F&W but getting time off is a problem. Same with early May.

I would love to be able to go the first week of December as well.....because it's my birthday. :)

We have been first week of December (it wasn't packed but definitely not super empty either!), January, Feb, March, April, May, Sept, and November (going last week of Oct this year) and by far my favorite is January! The week after the marathon is soooo slow in the parks that crowds are non-existent. It can be a little cool but usually has highs in the 70s, which is perfect for me!

My favorite time is the end of Jan-beginning of Feb. The crowds are low because there's no holiday and it's not too hot (I can't stand the summer heat of Fla). This is our 6th trip during that time.

We've only gone the first week of February, in 2012 and 2013. Good prices, low crowds, mild weather, and a much needed break from the gloom of Oregon. We do take Hannah (7) out of school. In 2015 she'll be missing 7 days of school. :coffee::beach:

I personally Love Jersey week.....You get perfect weather, moderate crowds, and you get to see Halloween & XMas decorations too...And F&W is also awesome too:thumbsup2

My children are grown. We tried not to pull our kids out of school too much, so we booked around other holidays. Our local schools have recently put a cap on the number of days permitted for absences for travel without receiving illegal absences/fines. It's all about the testing, but that's a whole other soapbox....Personally, I always like to travel when there are Christmas festivities.

We've been during the following periods:

March Break: Crazy busy. Long waits for everything. Wouldn't go back again under any circumstances.
May: We stayed offsite, crowds weren't a big issue but the humidity had already started and we'd likely not go at that
time again. (Our offsite condo was beautiful but full of ants --- so not great --- and WAY less convenient than onsite.)
October: Been multiple times and always busy and HOT and HUMID although the Epcot Wine and Food Event was great!
Early December: Unpredictable weather but reasonable crowds and love the holiday decorations. Our favourite time to visit.

We love going in March or April, depending on when Easter and Spring break and Mardi Gras are (we avoid those like the plague!). The Flower and Garden Festival is so much fun, and the weather is great (not too hot). This year we're heading down 2/28-3/7, and hoping the crowds are good.

My favorite time is the end of Jan-beginning of Feb. The crowds are low because there's no holiday and it's not too hot (I can't stand the summer heat of Fla). This is our 6th trip during that time.

Hey we're actually taking our trip Jan. 31st - Feb 6th, how much cold weather clothes do you pack? I'm from the northeast originally but my wife is born and raised in the south so I'm more worried about her...I'm sure I'll be fine in jeans and a cardigan.

Are there any packing musts that you think we should know about?

I'm glad that it looks like the precipitation is low the entire month.
