Would love to hear some of your experiences involving the WDW parades...

It is a toss up between Spectro. and the Chistmas parade....I love them both.

chipnwendy--I'm hoping the tiger is biting the bulldog this year and not the bulldog biting the tiger......lol
WAR EAGLE!!!

None of those--the old Tapestry of Nations (better than Tapestry of Dreams)

SpectroMagic by far is my "favourite" parade. The first time we went to Disney, my husband left the keys in the car so he went back to the car to try and get in while my 7year old daughter and I went to Tony's for dinner. Well, it took him so long that we had finished and I just couldn't hang around any longer. We went outside to sit on the verandah and wait for my husband. My daughter was exhausted and fell asleep in my arms. I knew nothing of the parade and all of a sudden the lights went down, the music came on and the parade started. I was so overwhelmed and had no one to share it with! The next night we went back to Magic Kingdom again and this time my daughter stayed awake and my husband was there and we all loved it. I've never tired of seeing it. I get emotional every time the music starts. I'm silly I know:sunny:

Tapestry of Nations was not an option so I voted for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parade.

SPECTROMAGIC!!! When we were at the MK last year I decided that I had to see this parade. When I asked the CM how far in advance people start to get there spots she said "1 hour." HA! After we were done watching the Flag Retreat, I turned around and there were people already camped out on Main Street. I walked over, sat down, and told my sister that that was where I was staying. She thought I was nuts!!!! Let me tell you, it was so totally worth it! It was beautiful! I taped it for her children, and all thru the parade you hear "cool, wow, neat!" I guess it transformed me into a 10 yr old! I bought the cd, and now my 4 yr old niece tells me "I haven't seen this parade. I need to go see it." Hopefuly I can talk my sister into a short hop down in May. Wish me luck!

Please enlighten me to the Tapestry of Nations parade.

Tapestry of Nations was a parade at EPCOT as was Tapestry of Dreams--the soundtrack for both was the same. TON premiered first. TOD followed and had a TERRIFIC tie in with Walt himself in the soundtrack. They both have gone the way of the dodo with no specific promise of a replacement.

BUT am I the only one who thinks for the price of admission the parades should be changing yearly. We went in 2001 and just came back yesterday and all the parades were the same.
SO was Cinderella's Celebration.
I think with Disney's money (I mean ours) that they could afford to do different parades yearly. Anyone agree!
:earsgirl: :earsboy:
Fantasmic was fantastic (First time for us and it was great)
Also a first!!!!! So many areas were blocked off for Christmas decorating to begin. I remember in 2001 we went in Nov10-17 and a Cm said they only decorated at nite so it would not spoil the magic.
Have a disney nite
Read this post at your own risk and no slamming please:wave: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I enjoyed the Motorcar Parade. I had so many characters come up and kiss me. Though, I was wearing my Bride Mickey Ears so that helped.

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade!

Although I like Spectro and I think the Christmas Parade is very special, I don't think I could watch them over and over again without tiring of them. I've seen Jammin Jungle many, many times and have just as much fun watching it each and every time.

That said, I'll agree with others about Tapestry of Nations and MSEP....old favorites that I truly miss.

I voted for Spectromagic but my ultimate favorite is Walt Disney World Main Street Electrical Parade.
That parade is burned into my childhood memories.

I love all the parades, for all different reasons. I'm even bummed that we're not going to see Jumpin Jungle parade, this year (we're skipping Animal Kingdom.) I am, however, excited about seeing the Christmas parade, for the first time. But I am giving my vote to The Share a dream parade. First of all I collect Disney snowglobes and second of all, I just love all of the princesses, in their beautiful gowns, with their hansome Princes.

Tapestry of Nations was originally introduced in connection with the millenium celebration. It ran from Oct 99 - Dec 2000. Once that was over, in Jan 2001, the parade stayed roughly the same, but the voiceover changed a little to remove references to the millenium.

Then, in connection with the 100 years of magic celebration in early 2002, parade was changed to Tapestry of Dreams. ToD used the same basic music as ToN, but it was arranged in a different way (not as good in my opinion). It also added a few new characters and flourishes which detracted from the parade.

ToD was fine, but was nowhere near as good as ToN (imho).

My favorite was also Tapestry of Nations at EPCOT. I wish they would bring it back!!!!!!!!

My best friend's daughter is both deaf and developmentally delayed. The WDW sign interpreter was FANTASTIC - giving her a feel for what the music was like and other details beyond just naming the floats. WDW had an area reserved for deaf guests and Cinderelle gave the "I Love You" sign in Savannah's direction. Savannah was absolutely amazed and thrilled...Cinderella loves her. I cannot state strongely enough how much I appreciate the staff at WDW making Savannah - a girl for whom much of life is a spectator event - a part of the Disney magic.
