I know that certain resort restaurants get great reviews from vegetarians, but my husband and I don't like to leave the parks to catch a meal...so what is your favorite veggie meal in the parks?

I had a YUMMY meal at the Rose and Crown Friday night--a root vegetable pot pie that was out of this world! Most the the meals I eat at the parks are just OK or pretty good--this pot pie was wonderful! I was a little nervous because it had lentils in it, and I'm not a big fan of lentils, but the flavors blended subtly and deliciously.

The best was the vegetarian trio at Alfredo's in Epcot, but alas..:sad1: Marakkesh has a good vegetarian entree... veggies and couscous. We've also had some really good counter service vegetarian meals. My boyfriend LOVES the tabouleh wrap at the ABC Comissary at MGM, the veggie Lo Mein in China at Epcot is yum and Tusker House at AK has a terrific veggie sandwich combo or corn chowder. Okay, I'm hungry now. In all of WDW, though, the very best meal for vegetarians (IMO) is the buffet at Boma in AKL. Oh, yes. :thumbsup2

Oh, I forgot one. Not really in the park, but walking distance from MGM or Epcot. Spoodles at the Boardwalk has several yummy veggie entrees.

Here are my Vegetarian in park choices!

MK- Columbia Harbour House- Vegetable Sandwich
Epcot- Tangerine Cafe- Vegetarian Plate
MGM- 50s PTC- Stuffed Pepper- Haven't tried Veggie CS at MGM
AK- Tusker House- Veggie Pita- Not that good, will try Pizzafari next

Regarding Rose and Crown: In February I got the "Vegetable Selection" which was a puff pastry thing with a creamy mustard/curry sauce. Is this still on the menu for dinner?? I am eating there on Friday and hopping to get it.

I was at the Rose and Crown earlier this year and I remember the veggie choices were the puff pastry or a veggie curry, but the veggie pot pie is the only veggie entree on the menu now.

Here is a quick service option for a veg -
At the Bakery on Main Street in the glass cases they have a mozzarella, tomatoe and basil sandwich on very good bread, crusty, yummy!!! I love to get that sandwich and sit outside near castle and eat, especially our last day!!!

I love the lighthouse sandwich and vegetarian chili at columbia harbor house. (It's messy but I could eat it everyday!)

Also the meal I had at Coral Reef was outa this world!

PrincessKitty, your dog is gorgeous! Looks like an Am Staff; those are so sweet & so much fun.

We like the variety at the Sunshine Seasons Food Fair in Epcot. If you don't mind venturing right outside the park, we also enjoy the kids grilled cheese platter at Beaches & Cream. And, of course, as someone else said, Boma is the absolute best for vegetarians.

At AK, we used to like the Tusker House veggie sandwich, but those wraps now are yech.

Really the only park at whcih we eat in-park now is Epcot! It just has much more variety than the others. Oh, if you count DTD as a park, then the Earl of Sandwich has a few vegetarian options. Their grilled cheese sandwich is good, if you just tell them to leave off the bacon.

Cheers!

I'd say my favorite meal was at Coral Reef, but I looked at a recent menu at allears and it's a different entree now. We also loved the sandwich at Columbia Harbor House (MK) and Tusker House (AK) was fabulous, but with it going buffet, that choice is out. My least favorite was Garden Grill and don't plan to ever eat there again.

Over at Studios, the mango glazed tofu at Sci-Fi is really tasty (and vegan, too!).

These are great suggestions! Thanks!
I was going to suggest the mushroom risotto at Raglan Road, but they recently took it off the menu. :(

Thank you, I've only had her for 2 months now and I  her. She is very shy but has been warming up and getting all waggy, wiggly, and smiley--very sweet.

A trainer at Petsmart who has owned several Am Staffs thinks she is a pure bred. Our last dog was a pit mix and was absolutely the most loyal, loving dog in the world, so I knew I wanted another pit. :cloud9:

Darn! I liked the risotto, even though I'm not a mushroom person at all. I just checked their menu at AllEarsNet.com, and they now have a portobello sandwich--ugh. I guess I'll just have to make a meal of side orders the next time I go.

Why do chefs think that all vegetarians eat is mushrooms and tofu??;)

And pasta and pizza, even at the more upscale restaurants! :rotfl: (Except at those the pizza is "flatbread".) I've been diagnosed with acid reflux, and acidic marinara sauce is hard to avoid when you're vegetarian. Fortunately for me, though, I do love mushrooms. Olives, on the other hand... :crazy2:

Anyway, to answer your question. My favorite CS meal is at Columbia Harbour House. The veggie sandwich and the chili are great. (Also I had a very nice sandwich at Main Street Bakery, which was a bit of a surprise.) I really loooooved my dinners Boma. My meat-eating DH did as well. Definitely the best buffet at WDW. And I don't remember any mushrooms there! :thumbsup2

It's really too bad about the risotto going away at Raglan Road; it was really tasty. I can make myself a grilled portobello sandwich any time. Booooring.

Mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms, ugh! I cannot eat them so I usually have to call and have it noted on my ADR since they seem to be in MOST vegetarian items at the TS at disney.

This is a really tasty sandwich! I look for it every time I go to the MK. The Main Street Bakery also has a wonderful Pecan Torte (basically an individually-sized pecan pie) that's out of this world.:cloud9:

My husband really liked the veggie quiche at the Patisserie in France. Also, he isn't a big fan of tofu and Jiko (the main entree for a vegetarian there is tandoori tofu) was extremely accomodating (obviously requires you to leave the park, though).

I've only been able to find the veggie quiche at the Patisserrie once, during Christmas weekend 2005. I liked it, too.

Interesting. Maybe he got lucky. We were just there two weeks ago - so it wasn't peak season. We were surprised to find it b/c I have never seen it listed on the menu.

I had the sandwich at Raglan Road on my last trip-- it was fabulous. I was disappointed to see it on the menu instead of the risotto, but was pleasantly surprised. It was cooked just right, on a fresh baked flaky roll with an interesting relish on it. Yummy! And it was nice that it wasn't as heavy as the risotto. The risotto was wonderful, but soooo rich.

My favorites in parks are the tofu and noodle dish at HBD, the veggie platter and the tabouleh wrap at Tangeirine, the veggie cuban sandwich and the goat cheese and beet salad at Sunshine Seasons, and the lighthouse sandwich at CHH.
