So I usually never rope drop a park with morning EMH, but MK will have them the whole week I'm there. Only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open during the EMH, so I'm trying to come up with the best strategy.

I was thinking rope drop Peter Pan or Mine Train and then try to knock out a lot of the other Fantasyland rides. Or I could go to Tomorrowland and hit all of those rides early. I really want to make sure I'm in Frontierland in time for that rope drop though.

We have done Rope drop at MK a few times & always hit Haunted Mansion first then moved on to Pirates, Splash & Thunder mountain in that order. Found these rides on rope drop with the lowest lines & normally get them all done in the first hour or so.
Only done early morning EMH there once & went straight for 7 Dwarf before going to Peter Pan.

Our plan very similar to roylanc's plan:

After Rope Drop - head left…
  • Haunted Mansion — walk on at 9 AM
  • Big Thunder x2 — ~9:30 AM
  • Splash — ~10:00 AM (we like to give time to let the sun warm things up a little before heading to Splash)
  • Jungle Cruise or Pirates mixed into the above as time permits.
  • ———————
  • Try to book:
  • FastPass #1 --> Seven Dwarves 10 - 11 AM
  • FastPass #2 --> Buzz OR Peter Pan's Flight 11 AM - noon
  • FastPass #3 --> Space Mountain noon - 1 PM
  • ———————
  • Eligible for more Fast Passes in PM…
****************************************
If doing Extra Morning Magic (ticketed event $$ for early access to Fantasyland + Breakfast Buffet)...
  • Seven Dwarves (multiple times)
  • Peter Pan
  • More Fantasyland attractions if/as they are opened…
  • Breakfast
  • ———————
After Rope Drop opens park - quickly head left…
  • Haunted Mansion — walk on at 9 AM
  • Big Thunder (x 2 ?) — ~9:30 AM
  • Splash — ~10:00 AM
  • Jungle Cruise or Pirates mixed into the above as time permits.
  • ———————
  • FP 1: Jungle Cruise (or Pirates) 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • FP 2: Buzz 11:00 AM - noon
  • FP 3: Space Mountain noon - 1PM
  • ———————
  • Eligible for more Fast Passes in PM…

Hope that helps!

I already have my plan set for non-EMH morning. I'm mainly looking for tips for mornings with EMH, since only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open. Thanks for the tips!

These rides are not open during EMH, so this plan won't work for OP.

On our last trip, we had FP for 7DMT and PP, so we hit Astro Orbiter, then Space, then Buzz, and the "Race"cars. Still had time to hop on People Mover before EMH was over. You should be able to do at least Astro, Space, and Buzz before heading over to line up for Frontierland. You can always skip one if it looks like it'll take too much time.

I agree-I would try to fast pass the Fantasyland attractions of Peter Pan and Mine Train, they are usually the only ones that need it.
I believe you could get Buzz, Space Mountain, and maybe Astro Orbiter and/or People Mover done from 7-750, then be at Frontierland for the two mountains there be 8 am rope drop. Go to Fantasyland after that.
People Mover rarely has a line, so that would be the one I'd return to Tomorrowland for, and also Monsters Laugh Floor rarely has a line.
If you can't fast pass Peter Pan and Mine Train then I would try to fast pass Space Mountain and Buzz and do those two in Fantasyland and a few others before Frontierland opens, then go back to Tomorrowland

For morning EMH, I start at Tomorrowland and work my way over to Fantasyland. I typically get FP+ for PPF and SDMT, so I don’t worry about hitting them during EMH. Because most people head to Fantasyland, I find that Tomorrowland is a great place to start.

Sorry - I haven't been to MK during AM EMH for a few years and I forgot that only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland were open. Have fun when you go!

When we do rope drop we’ll start with Jungle Cruise. I like the ride but not enough to wait more than 10 min so it works out. Then we head to splash/thunder mountain and haunted mansion because they’re close and will get busy as the day goes on. We use fp for PP.

As mentioned above, Adventureland and Frontierland won't be open yet, only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Here are my notes from my last trip, where I rope dropped two EMH mornings at Magic Kingdom. These were party days, so they had lower than normal crowds, FYI. One morning I took the time to visit the four princesses in Fantasyland, but that's not typical for me. A great use of EMH, though, if that's anyone's priority in your crew. Took less than 20 minutes for all four.

700 - Rope dropped
711 - Off Peter Pan, 2 minute wait
719 - Off Pooh, walk on
727 - Off Dumbo, wait one cycle
733 - Off Barnstormer, walk on
747 - Off Space Mountain, walk on
waited a few minutes for Astro Orbiter then skipped
800 - Off Buzz, walk on

Here are the open rides, per WDW's website:
I will have 2 mornings we are rope dropping MK with EMH (going in Sept-Oct). My first morning plan is getting a family pic in front of the castle right away, then: Space Mtn -> Tomorrowland Speedway -> Buzz Lightyear -> Astro Orbitor -> Meet Mickey & Minnie (While they are not on the above list, their hours on the website include EMH in Sept and we haven't met them in their birthday outfits yet) -> head to Frontierland for Splash & BTMR at 8am. Then whatever my FP are (haven't made them yet).

Our second morning we'll probably start with Space then -> whatever our family wants to do again, then to Jungle Cruise at 8am, then our FP.

I am not a fan of rope dropping 7DMT because it's too nuts for us...I will just get FP for it. I do understand why people do it, though.

On EMH days, while most of the crowd will be headed the same direction, I would do 7DMT, then PP, then head to SM, followed by Buzz.
If you reverse the order, the lines for 7DMT and PP will be much longer.

Hmmmm. I might do SDMT then the Speedway, which I realize is nontraditional. Anything to not have to stand in the blazing sun there.

I like to rope drop SDMT...wife gets in line and I grab coffee and a cat tail at Cheshire Cat and run over to meet her in line, before she makes it to the inside queue.

By my almost 19 year old's order the 1st ride we have to do is It's A Small Small World. After that she's is completely cool with whatever we decide.

The hordes head for PP and 7DMT. If you aren't in the initial line of people, I find it is better to head to Space Mountain and Autopia. Both of those will be walk-ons until people give up on 7DMT, both have intolerable lines later in the day. You can head back to 7DMT after that and still have a reasonable line length. Remember that you won't have FP returners so the line may look , and be posted long, but will move fairly quickly.

Why not PP? The line builds quickly, moves slowly and stays long all day. Fastpass or hit it last thing before the park closes.

My strategy is to ride all the non headliners in fantasyland and Tomorrowland during EMH. 95% of people head to either seven dwarves, Peter Pan or space mountain; if you avoid those 3 rides everything else is mostly a walk on.
Last EMH we did: buzz, Astro orbiter, speedway and pooh during the 8-9emh. Then at 9 we were still able to walk on most of fantasyland rides until 1030. We did, in order: barnstormer x2, dumbo, teacups, little mermaid, carosuel, small world. Then used FP for sdmt, Peter Pan, and big thunder.

We love to head straight to Fantasyland and ride Peter Pan first then all other non-headliners...mainly Winnie-the-Pooh, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Dumbo, Barnstormer, Tea Cups, the Carousel and Ariel. We get a fast pass for 7DMT. We usually don't pressure ourselves to squeeze in Small World or Philharmagic since they normally don't have extremely long wait times.

Once when our kids were younger, we rode Peter Pan, Winnie-the-Pooh, Dumbo, Barnstormer and Tea Cups twice within that EMH and little past park opening. They came up with the challenge of attempting it...and it worked!

Happy Planning!
