We are thinking of watching the fireworks from one of the monorail resorts one night - which is your favorite and why? We'd like something with good food and a good view.
We are traveling with a picky 6 year old but as long as there are raw veggies and fruit on the menu she'll be happy. I think we're ruling out Ohana because we're already planning a breakfast there.

TIA!

I wouldn't pick 'Ohana for fireworks during my meal; however, we like to eat there and then head out to the beach for fireworks after dinner (since a number of tables aren't great for viewing). Dinner is quite different than breakfast, so it's one that won't feel like a duplicate experience if you do both in one trip.

Ultimately, California Grill affords you the best views, with Narcoosee's also a good option. Our kids enjoy both, but you may want to peruse the kids' menus.

Magic Kingdom "Wishes" restaurant viewing
. . . Tomoorowland Terrace Dessert Party - great view
. . . California Grille - excellent table view, excellent balcony views
. . . Narcoossee's - good view, good balcony views **
. . . Ohana - good view from a few tables, no view from all other tables

I plan our monorail resort meals around Wishes. We like both CG and Narcoossees, but lately seem to opt for Narcoossees more often. For both meals you should plan on watching from the balcony or porch, and feel lucky if you have a view from a window. The view from CG is in my opinion the most spectacular, but if you do not like the menu go for Narcoossees. It is a lovely view and offers a good meal and excellent service.

'Ohana would not even make it to my short list for seeing Wishes. You may luck out with a window seat, but the odds of that happening are slim to slimmer. You cannot leave your table to watch WIshes and return ad you can from the other two restaurants.

We have never liked watching any of the Firework shows from inside. For us the the best for Wishes is the beaches, we bring the left over wine and borrow a towel and Illuminations, the best is around the lake outside.

Maneuvering to get a *GOOD* window table and at the right time is not worth the time and running around.

I have never understood trying to watch Illuminations from inside a restaurant or even a patio. Too much left to chance for me. For Wishes, if you want the music you do need to be off the beaches and at a restaurant, don't you?

Hi Nancy, we have heard the music from beaches near the resort pools and outside decks.

None of them. Too much of a crapshoot to get a table you can actually see them from, and the idea of getting up from my table during a meal, walking outside for 10-15 minutes, then coming back just isn't appealing to me.

If we care to take in the fireworks, which is rare quite honestly, we do it from the TOTW Lounge at Bay Lake. I realize that's not an option for many, so my second choice would be near the ferry dock at the Ticket and Transportation Center....great way to beat the crowd out, too.

Thanks everyone! I was more thinking along the lines of California Grill and then going out on the terrace to watch. Thought the Wishes dessert party sounds interesting too! Does anyone know how much that costs for adults and kids and what kind of desserts you get?

$59 for adults
$35 for children

The last time we attended (it was $22 per adult then, so it's been a while) it was assorted cupcakes, tarts, brownies, cookies, fruit, truffles, canolis, rice krispy treats, etc.

Wow that's expensive! I think I'd rather eat at California grill early and then use my receipt to get back up there to watch the fireworks. Can you hear music from California Grill?

Yeah, it's gotten stupid expensive over the last year.

Last time I was at CG, they did pipe the music in.

Ok also - am now deciding between California Grill or Narcoosees. The menus are equally appealing to my family. Can you come back for viewing to Narcoosees if your reservation is before the fireworks (like you can at California Grill)? And is music piped in to Narcoosees as well?
Thanks!

one more question....if we go on a night where MVMCP is happening, they still pipe in the music for those fireworks as well?
