did i post this in the wrong board?

I need help finding a non disney property for my inlaws. I have googled and cannot find a great list. I thought we could start one.

so please post your favorite non disney resort in anaheim near the park. Thanks.

Have you tried searching the Good Neighbor hotels on DL's website? They list all of the off property hotels in the area. :thumbsup2

My favorite is the Candy Cane Inn. Nice staff, beautiful property, clean rooms, comfy beds, free shuttle (though it is a short a pleasent walk) and a free breakfast. The rates are reasonable and I find it worth paying a little more than I could get a cheaper room for to have the piece of mind that we are staying in a nice hotel.

We have always stayed at the Best Western Anahiem Inn (next the Denny's) It's right across from DL and is only a 5 minute walk. The staff are super nice and the rooms are very clean. We are staying there this December for 9 days. Another place that I considered staying next year when we go is, The Best Western Park Place Inn. We've never stayed there but I've heard great things about this hotel and it's located at the cross walk on harbor blvd and that's probably a 3 minute walk.

I have loved the Candy Cane Inn, and Marriott Residence Inn.

Never had a problem at either.

We  loved  the Sheraton Park, it's very close and has the Resort Trolley too. (Read my trip report for more info)

Candy cane inn. Great breakfast, their own shuttle to the park, and nicely decorated with beautiful grounds.

I'm going to stay at Anaheim marriott, someone have pictures and comments?

Out of the off-property motels/hotels we've stayed at, we liked Howard Johnson's and the Hilton Anaheim the best. They both have nice rooms, great pools, and views of the fireworks from your room (if you happen to get a room with a fireworks view). The Hilton Anaheim also has it's own restaurants and bar, plus room service.

The offsite motel we stayed at with the best location in relation to Disneyland is the Best Western Park Place Inn. It's right across the street from the main entrance into the parks, so it's like a 5 minute walk. The rooms were okay, kinda dark but clean, although no where near as nice as the rooms and facilites at the Howard Johnson's or the Hilton Anaheim.

The park place inn has a breakfast next door. I am staying at anaheim inn in 3 weeks. Both are fine

I thought of another one...Homewood Suites in Anaheim. :) They have a shuttle that cost about $3.00, to DL.

My favorite is the Carousel Inn, followed by any of these: Tropicana Inn, Camelot Inn, Howard Johnson's, BW Park Place Inn, Dessert Inn, Fairfield Inn. These are all right across the street from the entrance.

YUM the dessert inn???? LOL! Sorry just had to!
But we like the Desert Inn & Suites. If you go to their website directly you can get a $59 rate in off season, and it is a 2 min walk to the front gate at DL!

We just back yesterday from the Desert inn and enjoyed our stay.I was worried because another board has nasty things to stay about it.We were greeted well and our rooms were clean every day. The breakfast wasn't very good.It had danishes, toast, and either an orange or apple, milk, and juice. It wasn't bad for me but the men thoght it lacked Bacon.lol.It was sure nice at the end of the day to walk across the street and be back at the hotel. The rooms were on the smaller side but let's be real, how long are you really there?

We stayed at the HOJO's in June.I enjoyed the rooms. They were larger and clean.I did not enjoy the fact that they over charged me.There is also no breakfast. The walk was too long after a day in the park.

We are going again in Dec. and we will be staying at either Desert Inn or Park Vue Inn because they are Cheaper($79 a night for a suite compared to $139 a night) and Way Closer.
