There will be 9 of us dining. We are looking to go to one of the DTD restaurants. I've gotten mixed reviews about Planet Hollywood, so I think that one is out. We are 4 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 11 to 5. We would like a sit down meal, price does not really matter. Any opinions?

Rainforest isn't an option, we will be doing the AK Rainforest.

TIA:)

If you like seafood then Fultons is a must. If New Orleans is more your style you might like the House of Blues. It really depends on what kind of food you like and possibly the ages of those in your party. We have never been disappointed in a DTD meal.

Wolfgang Puck's::yes:: We had a pretty good lunch at HOB too.:earsboy:

I LOVE Fulton's crabhouse. I had a great exp the last time I was there, and the food was wonderful. It is pricey, but what seafood isnt?

Have a blast!

Another vote for Fultons. Ask for upstairs seating. Oh, and don't have dessert there. Instead, walk off your delicious meal and head over to Ghiradelli's for a deeelightful ice cream something or other!

Absolutely!! We should go to WDW together :)

House Of Blue's is one of our favorite's.Sorry to buck the trend but I wouldn't eat at Fulton's if you held a gun to my head, well I guess I would if you had a huge gun.:wave2:

Another vote for House of Blues! Wonderful food and fun atmosphere! :teeth:

HOB may be better considering kids. The music is fun and the atmosphere is a bit more laid back, I believe, compared to FCH. I come from the east coast and can't imagine paying what Fultons charges for what you get. I may be spoiled with less expensive seafood, but I also think the decor would be more appealing at the HOB. My personal favorite is Wolfgange Puck's Cafe. You can eat outdoors, so the kids (if loud and need to move) can do so.

Wolfgang Pucks was great when we ate there 2 years ago. I did eat at the House of Blues in California's DD - I recall it being good but Wolfgang Puck's food was more memorable.

:D

Wolfgang Puck's is great. I had a great pasta dish when I was there, but I can't remember what it was. Fulton's is great, too, but it's been a long time since I've been there.

The best spot is Portobello Yacht Club--we always see kids there. but generally not as many as some other WDW spots.
As for Fultons--we'd go there again if it were free (altho we'd have to think about that for awhile).

In two trips, Portobello Yacht Club was absolutely the BEST dining we ever experienced ----- and ------the worst! The first time it was perfect. We were seated in a corner table right in front of a window. The quiet romantic ambience was a perfect backdrop for one of the most delicious meals we have ever eaten. So with those memories in mind we headed back on the very next trip. Whoa! What a difference! We were seated in a larger room with many larger tables, all filled. We were near an exit/entry for food servers with a constant flow of people next to our table. The room was very noisy, in fact I'd go as far as to say boisterous with kids, one child in particular. I can't even remember what we ate. Now we know that there's no way to determine what might be the best, or worst, restaurant based on just one prior visit. Our goal is to try them all! :)

I can tell you what restaurant to avoid: Captain Jack's. We've eaten twice at CJ and both times the food was absolutely wretched. I'm sentimental about CJ's - it's the only restaurant still open that was part of the gone and much-lamented WDW Village Marketplace. But unless you nibble something at the bar I simply can't recommend a decent meal here.

PS: Anyone remember when Chef Mickey's was at the Village Marketplace and was simply called the Village Restaurant?

Perhaps you might want to try something out of the ordinarly. Bongo's Cuban Cafe has become one of our favorites.

I like Rainforest Cafe. Good food and a fun atmosphere provided it is not super crowded.
ADP :D

Wolfgang Puck's cafe (downstairs, not the fancy restaurant upstairs) has some great sandwiches and sushi, plus entrees. We love HOB --- wonderful jalapeno corn bread.
And RC can be fun, but some people haven't cared for the food too much and it can get crowded.

Dw and I like Bongos for a different style of meal. Wolfgang pucks cafe has lighter and more kid friendly fare. There is also the Cheesecake factory in Disneyquest.
