Your favorite dining??

Taking our family on our first trip to DL. I have been several times so one day trips when out in CA for work, but have never eaten anything but quick service wherever. We have lots of food allergies and are veteran WDW dining planners. We prefer a nice sit down each day. We will have 4 evenings. What do you love and will not miss and why. My kids are 12, 10 and 9 and wonderful at restaurants...so we will go wherever!

Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans is ridiculous - so filling and just sumptuous. Probably about 7,000 calories. Plaza fried chicken is the other good meal. otherwise, nothing speaks to me, but i haven't tried it all.

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. All you can eat ribs, chicken, cornbread, beans, coleslaw. The menu is set, so if you have allergies to deal with you would definitely want to check in about that beforehand, but if it does work out then I would highly recommend it. I dream about that barbecue chicken!

We find that most of our sit down dinners are outside of the parks. Some of our favorites are Napa Rose, Goofy's Kitchen, Steakhouse 55, Naples, Jazz Kitchen, Tortilla Jo's and Catal/UVA Bar.

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. All you can eat ribs, chicken, cornbread, beans, coleslaw. The menu is set, so if you have allergies to deal with you would definitely want to check in about that beforehand, but if it does work out then I would highly recommend it. I dream about that barbecue chicken!

I'll second this one. The ribs are incredible, and the cornbread is just amazing.

My favorite locations are Blue Bayou, Carthay Circle, Big Thunder BBQ, Cafe Orleans, and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. Blue Bayou is one of the most iconic restaurants in DL. If you do go, be sure to request a waterside table. It's well worth the wait (think San Angel Inn in atmosphere, but not cuisine). Big Thunder BBQ is an AYCTE family-style BBQ locations with chicken and ribs, cornbread, coleslaw, beans, corn (at dinner), and sausage (dinner). It reminds me a little of HDDR, but not as elaborate. Cafe Orleans is very good in it's own right and it is also a less expensive substitute for Blue Bayou if you want the Monte Cristo. It's a great spot to people watch while you dine. Carthay Circle is in DCA and has very good food. Brennan's is in DTD and has outstanding food and a fun atmosphere.

Love Carthay Circle in DCA.

At DL we usually do Cafe Orleans. Monte Cristo servings are huge. I would share. You can always get 2 different plates and split. But you'll want to make room for the Beignets. You can get these to go. But it's so good to eat them fresh.

We just tried Catal in DD which was really good. Thd prices aren't as high as Napa Rose (which I really want to try) and not over price like Blue Bayou which you are paying for atmosphere. (IMO,Long ago I would say BB is good but I'd prefer to spend the money elsewhere. But on the plus side they do have a fantastic packages,

Tortilla Jo's was good. Service varies. We've done LaBrea Bakery for breakfast. Very filling.

I'm not a fan of buffets but there are several options at the resort hotels.

Ok. Fun! Have heard great things about Carthay circle. Blue bayou sounds fun. Especially for my 10 year old son. Excited to scope out more menus and pics! Thanks.

Blue Bayou is our family favorite. There's no other experience like it in the world . We also enjoy Café Orleans (yes, we basically eat our way through New Orleans Square, love those Mickey Beignets at the Mint Julep bar for a quick snack too ) and Carnation Café for classic American.

DL for me would be Bengal BBQ. The Pacific Wharf in DCA, has some pretty good offerings. If you are looking outside the parks at DD, I enjoy Tortilla Jo's and La Brea Bakery.

Another vote for Big Thunder Ranch BBQ!! We are a family of 7 and there is definitely something for everyone.

We love the Napa Rose for our special celebration dining. We also like the LaBrea Cafe for fresh salads, etc., and not too expensive. We really enjoyed the atmosphere at Trader Sam's, the food was good too. The Carnation Cafe just feels so Disney to us, we try and have our last meal there before departing for home.
