Your Favorite Courtyard View at the WL

:cool1:

"Bears Face" room 5077 (One floor above 4077) We've had this room 3 times.

If I knew how to post a link, I would provide the thread where the gal said she PAID for courtyard, had a view of the quiet pool, and when she complained she was told that was considered CY. I know, it scares me, too, cuz I would have never thought that could happen! I would be so upset!

lovemy2girls-I sent you another PM, cuz I do not think that is the correct email addy. i sent it to you last night, so I just want to make sure you check PMs. BTW...we are not supoosed to "talk" about PMs on the threads...it is against the rules, so this is the last time I will mention it! :earsgirl:

Actually, if you look up Courtyard View designation when checking out room availability on the website it says:

Courtyard View Rooms offer a view of the pool, a waterfall, or the lake.

So...I don't know why people with CY View rooms would be given a view of the villas or quiet pool. Unless they are taking liberties with "pool view"

"Unless they are taking liberties with "pool view""

remember, this is the same company that considers a view of a fountain a waterview at POFQ

Demo-I am not sure what you mean...I think that statement proves my point...it doesn't say view of the MAIN pool. Just "pool." So it may very well include the quiet pool.

Also, please read what dpic wrote in his post at 8:09 a.m....it is about midway in his post (sorry...I do not know how to do quotes in my post...isn't that sad? LOL!) He said that the quiet pool view can be considered CY.

I agree, it is not cool! But don't kill the messenger...I am just passing on what I have heard! :earboy2: I just want people to know so that they request INNER courtyard, if that is the view they desire!

So let me ask you all this, we are staying courtyard room in October. I originally wanted woodsview so we could see the castle but there was no availability. Will I be disappointed with cy view? What is 2nd best to having a view of the castle? If I want to be able to see the fireworks (hopefully) and not have a solid balcony, where should I request. TIA!!!

Hey Pumpkin!

So you have a courtyard view booked? I prefer CY to woods, even with the firworks and all. I mean, you will have to be sure to be in your room during the fireworks time. Plus, there are woods view that do NOT have a view of the fireworks, so you cannot be guaranteed that you will see fireworks even if you could book woods view.

I "think" if you have a INNER courtyard view, on the south side of the building, and you are pretty high up, you will be able to see a bit of the fireworks. but I am not sure, so maybe a WL expert could weigh in on that!

Sounds like the little tree they planted has grown. This is a photo I took in Oct. '04. There use to be a very large pine in the corner that blew out with the hurricanes. It made views from those rooms "pine bough view rooms." They replanted a deciduous tree, and it's too bad the tree is already hurting the views from those rooms. The view from that area is very nice.

We stayed in room 4123, its a junior suite and you can see it in the picture you have posted here. :bounce: Its the upper left room in the middle. We have almost the same picture as you, but we put balloons on the balcony railing so we cud see our room. It was so peaceful and quite, with such a wonderful view of the pool and lake. We cud see for miles in June 2001

Pool view of the Villa... but it's not in the courtyard. Courtyard is INSIDE the horse sh-U. It's like why would anyone wants to see someone elses quiet pool and paying for the CY. Just doesn't make any sense.. :confused3 Anyways... I can guarantee I am not going to be sitting in the balcony watching the Villas. :)

Anyways.. carry on.. carry on.

Fantasia-But did you see dpic's post? On the map, the quiet pool area is also titled "courtyard." The WL has two courtyards, whether you like it or not! :confused3

For the tenth time...I AGREE...I would be MAD if I got the quiet pool view after PAYING for courtyard. I am just saying, it is possible, and if they are booked there is nothing anyone can do about it.

wildernesslodgelover, just so you know... I am not pointing figers at you. Please don't take it as personal attack from me. I was just using your quotes so I can just tie my thoughts to your post, so my typing won't be too much. I didn't see dpic's post and the map. I just disagree with WL's CY location and I am just overly expressing it here.

When I made the reservation, I already made a few request. With sooo many rooms facing the courtyard...the inner courtyard that is.. I very much doubt that I would be one of the few people who would get the Villas view. So, with this statement...no worries. :)

Carry on.. carry on.

Thanks for your post, Fantasia. I guess I was taking it a bit personally cuz I was being quoted. But I see your point...you were just quoting me so you had something to respond to. No worries here, either. I hope your WL trip is all that you are hoping for...I am sure it will be! :cool1:

Fantasia, the picture I sent you was from 5039, inner courtyard.

Thanks wildernesslodgelover for understanding. And thanks for your well wishes. We will have a wonderful breathtaking time at WL!! I have never thought I would fall in love with this resort up until we finally stayed there. I am not a wintery, woodsy, "outsider-camper" person... but boy... I tell ya.. When I walked through the huge beautiful (I don't know if this is the right word to describe this resort) lobby and when I got to our room and out to the balcony... AWWWWW... this resort just took my breath away!!

And to see the fireworks just the high ones... another AWWWWW... And to watch the WP... and hear the music. It was just awesome!! And to top it all.. we were there in Dec and it was just fabulous!! This is the best resort to stay during the Holiday! But even so, we went this past Feb and it was still gorgeous!!

Blah...blah..blah...Sorry for rambling. Can you tell how much I love love this resort!

Thanks Robin for sharing those great pixs! It looks like to me that you room is facing dead center of the lake? or just slightly toward facing east (away from MK)? And there's another pix, is that a room that is a woodsview? That is a very nice view of the Castle!!

Fantasia-I know! the WL is a very special place! If you PM me, i will send you a pic of the view from my favorite room...5041. I am curious to see robin's view, also...as it must have been right next to mine!

Sorry, the view of the castle was from Boca Chica at the GF. Never managed to see the MK from WL. We were slightly (one room) to the right of dead center if you were facing the hotel from the pool. There is an overlook into Artist's Point, then a guest room, then the room we had. Again, as often happens, this was not our assigned room. I had originally (like in August) requested ground floor. Between August and October I had called back on numerous occasions with requests (like a fridge) and told them upper floor, or they read upper floor back to me without prompting). Well, yep, you guessed it, we arrived at 7:30PM and are told we have a first floor room. When I asked about our requests, she had nothing at all showing. They had all vanished, except non smoking. This room worked out great, it's right arounf the corner from an elevator that let's you off at the laundry and the entrance to Roaring Forks.

I saw where you booked the Poly, if you want a great location with kids request Samoa, volcano pool side. We were right by the elevator, could be at Captain Cooks and the GCH in like two minutes. Nice sized rooms too. Enjoy your split stay!

Thanks again wildernesslodgelover for the pixs!! What a beautiful family!
You know what's funny is that... I thought when I saw the pixs, I had to check to see if I had opened Robin's email cause the view is almost alike!! Your view and Robin's room's view are beautiful!

And btw... We are also going to try O'hana for breakfast! You guys got a great view of the lake.. and if I'm not mistaken, it looks like the view of the GF from afar. Is it?

The first time we stayed at the CY, we were facing straight at the lake and saw a few fireworks..not much. Then on our second stay, we were facing west, towards MK on the 6th floor again. And we saw the fireworks better from there, but still only the high ones. I am booked again at WL CY, and wil be asking a room facing west again. I like watching the fireworks, though can't watch it fully. And then, maybe next time, I will try the Woodsview and hopefully one facing the Castle. Robin had a great view of the castle in one of her pixs.

Thanks again guys for the pixs!! Sorry for hijacking this thread! Oh no! My bad!! :)

Thanks for the tip! I like being near the elevator, I don't care for walking down the long hallways. Thanks, I'm sure we will enjoy Poly..and we will enjoy our split!!

Poly... and WL... HERE WE COME!!

In June of 2002, we were upgraded at check in to an inner courtyard view. It was on the 5th floor facing MK. We could catch a glimpse of the fireworks. On our last trip in June 2004, we were upgraded once again. We didn't like our first room even though it was inner courtyard, it was towards a corner and we didn't have a good view of the pool. We then changed to room 5148, with a view of the quiet pool. We enjoyed this view as much as the inner courtyard. It was very peaceful to sit on the balcony and eat breakfast. I think both courtyard views are great!
