Even though I know people from Cinderella and Britny Fox, my favorite was probably Poison.

What was yours?

I didn't really like any hair bands' music, but Kip Winger was a hottttttie!!!

Motley Crue

I'm hoping the "Dirt" movie will be as good as the book.

I briefly met him once, and he was a REALLY nice guy. One of the nicest people I ever met in rock music.

Winger was probably the most overall talented of them all. Rod is just a monster of a drummer.

Tesla is an amazing band, although I don't think I'd call them a hair band.

Extreme had some great songs, and Nuno is an amazing guitarist.

A band that has been forgotten by most but had some awesome music was Tangier.

I worked on Wingers road crew for six weeks in 1991, Papa Duece is correct, Kip is a super nice guy.

Ya, know, I had them on my list, and the more I thought about it, I didn't think they qualified as a hair / glam band.

I bet those were 6 HARD weeks, but I bet you look back fondly on them now.

They've got a new CD coming out. Here's a snippet from a press release I recently got on it:

REAL TO REEL—produced by TESLA and Tom Zutaut and recorded at the Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX--is a two-disc 25-song collection of classic rockers from the ‘60s and ‘70s, recorded through a vintage Neve console directly to Ampex 456 analog tape to capture the purity of these timeless and legendary songs. Songs include: “Space Truckin’,” “I’ve Got A Feeling,” “Ball of Confusion,” “All The Young Dudes” and “Street Fighting Man.”

The first 13 tracks will be available on June 5 at retail outlets, while the second disc containing the remaining 12 songs will be available this summer along the band’s tour route with the purchase of a concert ticket. Details are forthcoming.

They were actually six pretty easy weeks. A couple of guys who I came up through the ranks with back home were on the tour as well, so it was a lot of fun. :)

I am a preschool teacher and one of my students is the son of the lead singer of Cinderella, Tom Keifer. I never was into the rock/hair band thing in the 80s, but he gave me and DH tix to his concert with Poison last summer and I have to admit they put on an incredible show! He and his wife are also super nice, down to earth people.

Sounds good to me. I was supposed to be at the live show in Philly where they made their live CD. My GF was sick, so we didn't go. Never did get to see them.

Tom is the guy I knew best. His BIL was my boss back in the 80's. Long story made super short, I did Tom a favor, and he repaid it several times over.... and Tom is who introduced me to kip Winger.

I checked "other". Although this was not my primary music genre, I have to say Skid Row.......if only for Sebastian Bach being soooo pretty! ;) :rotfl:

From the list, I picked Ratt. But Bon Jovi and Def Leppard were my favorites. :)

Does Guns N Roses count? Or Slade? I loved Slade.

I had them under consideration. In the end, I just couldn't call them a hair / glam band.

To Cool Beans, I guess Bon Jovi was a hair band, but not a glam band, IMO....

I said Mama, We're all crazee now! :rotfl:

What about Van Halen? I never thought of them as a hair/glam band but maybe some did.

Judas Priest? Quiet Riot? The Scorpions? I think my favorite is Def Leppard if they fit, at least today

I had the Sirius Hair Band channel on earlier. :)

I always considered them a hair band, they had the long hair. ;) And I agree they were amazing, one of my favorites.

PD, Bon Jovi is most definitely a hair band, the first thing I noticed on your list is that they were not there!

I'd say for sure that Bon Jovi was a hair band--don't know that I'd call most of the band son the list a glam band though. G-n-R was a glam band in their early days--anyone remember the look in the "Welcome to the Jungle" video? :rotfl:

I'm confused. Glam was in the 70's, hair bands in the 80's. I don't see any bands listed that I would consider "glam" on the list. :confused3

I took his words to mean the glam-y "metal" look, as opposed to the earlier look and sounds like the NY Dolls & Sweet.

I voted other on the poll because I loved all the 80's hair bands lol. :cool1:
