Wanted to try a new place in the WS this trip. We're going back to Rose & Crown nad have been to Askerhaus and Le Cellier before. Have a picky DD16 so Germany. Morraco and Japan are out. Just looked at the menu for Alfredo's and it looks like one she'd like.

Is it worth the money? Have seen some comments about bad service that have me worried.

What has been your experience?

We had the fetticine alfredo and it was delicious! The service was great and the bread w/ dipping oils was wonderful too.

We would have to give this place two thumbs DOWN! The food was terrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very over priced.

Our service has always been good, with no problems. This is one restaurant that my daughter always request that we go dine at. We have only done lunch their. And we find it to be perfect for a break, in the afternoon. Absolutely relaxing! Love the cannoli's!

I love this place. Very good lunch menu and the service was wonderful. Our waitress was very nice and we also had another waitor who was extremly pleasant. I would go back her in a second.

Based on the one time I ate there, I would have to agree. DH said his tasted like ChefBoyardee... and that the fetuccini alfredo, the signature dish, was also bad. Mine was not as good as the Olive Garden, but not as bad as his. Note: I love Italian, but was so unimpressed by this place. The tables were WAY to close together...we were on the long bench seating against the wall and I was knocking elbows with the lady at the next table. Service was spotty.

That said, it was on our honeymoon, 8.5 years ago!! So it's probably time to give it another try. It's just that there are so many places that have been wonderful to eat at, that we're hesitant to go somewhere we were so unimpressed with....

My family and I all really like Alfredo's, the fettucini alfredo is delicious. That is basically what I get when I go there because I enjoy it so much but my family has had other dishes there and always enjoyed them and we love the strolling musicians. My kids just asked me the other day if we can go back to Alfredo's in April. So we'll be there soon!! Hope you find it an enjoyable experience! :D :D :D

The only time I have eaten there was on my honeymoon, 9 years ago. The service then was fine, but I thought it was incredibly over-priced (yes, even by Disney standards) for fare that wasn't any better than Olive Garden IMHO. Italian isn't my favorite, so I am biased there....DH really liked the Alfredo though.

We put off going to Alfredo's because of the many negative comments on this board...well, what a mistake.

Alfredo's is wonderful, great food/service/atmosphere.

We were very sorry we waited as long as we did to eat there.
Alfredo's is now at the top of our list for disney restaurants!

Go and enjoy!

We also use to put off going to Alfredo's because of the bad reviews. Well we should have listened. The food was the worse we ever had at Epcot. The service was poor and the seating was too close together. The red sauce I had was terrible and my wife had the Alfredo which was lumped together in the bowl. It was the most over priced restaurant (for what you get) we have ever been to in WDW.

This is our opinion and we will not be back anytime soon, it may have been an off night, however we did not like one thing about it. With that said we have had great meals at other places that have been given bad reviews. So you never know.

PeaPicker, who lost over 150 posts and does not know why?

We always go to Alfredos when we are at WDW. My kids always ask to go there. I love the Fettichini Alfredo, it is the only restaurant where I will order that dish anywhere! My kids order off the adult menu and try different things and DH always gets the veal chop, he loves that, even if it isn't on the menu he askes for it and there was only one time that they couldn't make it for him. We have also asked for other things off the menu too, you never know when they can accomodate you.

Last week one of my sons got sick the night we were supposed to go, so I stayed behing with him and DH brought my other son, they said it was good as always.

Having seen much controversy over Alfredo's here on the Dis, I have come to the conclusion that the taste for Italian cuisine is very subjective. Our family has been going to 'Fredo's since Epcot opened. I think the fetuccini is the best thing on the menu. It's hard for me to fathom any favorable comparison to Olive Garden or Chef Boyardee, but there's that subjectivity rearing its head;)

It IS a matter of taste and I guess if you hit it on a good day or not but the first time we tried Alfredo's in 1999 we had a terribly rude servier and thought the food was just mediocre. For the next three trips we avoided it. I decided to give it another try last summer since every restaurant has it's "off nights" and wanted to judge it fairly. This time we were seated in the main dining room which was extrememely LOUD at dinner time and we were almost on top of the next table. Our server was nice but very quiet which was fine but again the food is mediocre at best in our opinions. We LOVE Italian food and I cook it from scratch at home often so maybe we're spoiled but I can tell you that I make fettucine alfredo with fresh ingredients for the sauce and you can definitely tell that what they use at Alfredo's isn't any better than the pre-made kind you find in your local grocery store. Lasagna is my favorite Italian food and again, their's is no better than Olive Garden's. In fact, on one trip we didn't eat there we ate offsite at Romano's Macaroni Grill and we enjoyed it MUCH more than either of our trips to Alfredo's. If the only lasagna or fettucine alfredo you are accustomed to is frozen Stouffers you'll probably think this food is great but if not be warned. Sorry, but even if I'm craving Italian I won't waste my time and money there again.

If you want an accurate idea of what Alfredo's "food" is like just do the following:

- go to a local pizzeria (the worst one in town)

- take the oldest, most disgusting thing out of the dumpster

- taste it

What you experience will be considerably better than anything Alfredo's kitchen can produce.

Goodness there sure are some haters on this thread. My DH and I loved our meal there. The bread is wonderful dipped in the oils or with just butter. I ordered the Fett. Alf. from the kids menu and still could not finish it. My DH had some sausage entree with lots of onions and peppers and he was in heaven. He also had some wine and I think our whole check was under 30$ and his meal was off the dinner menu. We also had some appetizer although I cannot remember it now..sorry!

Try it you will love it.

Plus it is so pretty inside.:earsboy:

What can I say, I hate it when I am served "food" that is less appealing than a bowl of human excrement. My waiter should have warned me before he brought us our meals. If I knew how bad dinner at Alfredo's was going to be I would have hacked at my tongue with the silverware. At least if my tongue was mutilated I wouldn't be able to taste anything.

Just returned from WDW and had dinner at Alfredo's last week. Biggest disappointment of our trip. We had p.s. but had to wait because they had tons of walk ins. Service was snooty which I found surprising since some of the best service we get at home is from Italian restaurants. The place was very loud (it must be the accoustics in that place since we dined at other places with just as many people but noise didn't affect us at those) and we were packed in like sardines. Even with all of this if the food had been really good we would have enjoyed our meal. It was edible but very, very generic. I DO understand why people compare it to the likes of Olive Garden, etc. I can get bread and oil or butter at ANY Italian restaurant, and no disrespect for a former poster but I don't see how even getting one child's fettucine meal ($6.99) that with that, an appetizer, adult entree, and a glass of wine you could get out of there for under $30 for a party of 2. Lots of other great restaurants in Epcot though!

We had lunch here in June and we were totally Underwhelmed. Food was just so so, service was terrible and they weren't busy. We waited 20 minutes to be waited on, when we finally got our food it was cold.

I will not return!

Have gone 5 times, sharing Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers. We usually get the same thing: Antipasto All'Italiana, Trittico di Pasta (once we were able to add Veal to this entree), the dessert sampler and a large bottle of San Pellegrino. If my mom is with us (making it three adults), she gets the minestrone, and samples the other things. Last trip we took my niece, and she used the kids voucher - got the minestrone, Le Originali Fettuccine All'Alfredo (child's portion), the dessert sampler and a large bottle of San Pellegrino. We all loved our food, and the waiter's loved the vouchers, encouraging you to order the most expensive items so their inclusive tip is larger.

The service has always been good, a little aloof at times, but generally they become more friendly. We usually eat lunch pretty early (we are not breakfast eaters), and never eat in the main dining room, but rather in the conservatory area between the main dining room and the patio.

My family hates the Olive Garden and most chain Italian (my niece does like Buco di Beppo, but I haven't been there). I know almost all restaurants can have "off days," so maybe we have been fortunate in not hitting one here as of yet. If you are not happy, please tell someone. We always eat at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop at least once every trip, and one time the fish portion was tiny. My husband talked to a manager, who was shocked. It turns out someone cut the fish wrong. They corrected the problem, and even comped us a couple of drinks - very nice. The manager was just glad someone brought the problem to their attention.

Oh, and looking at the Alfredo's menu, you could squeak by at $30 with the kid's fettucine, Salsicce con Peperoni e Penne al Pomodoro (adult entree), one of the less expensive appetizers, and a glass of wine - before tip. I wouldn't give up dessert though - their desserts are to die for!!!!

Have a great trip!
