Your dumbest injury as an adult?

Cutting my fingers with an electric hedge trimmer. Fortunately I hit the flat part and not the edge. I got those v-shaped cuts. It took a few stitches on one finger and just glue on the other. I won't even plug that hting in now unitl my heavy gloves are on!

It was just a few days before going to WDW and I was brushing the sides/bottom of our in-ground pool for a good cleaning before we left when klutzy me some how slipped on the edge and fell straight down in landing on my feet. THANKFULLY it was at the shallow end because I managed to hit my back on the way down and cracked 2 ribs. Pain was unreal and if I did it in the deep end I'm not sure how much water I would have swallowed and/or INHALED!!!

Still haven't a clue as how I could have been so klutzy. That was my first trip to the ER in the #13 Ambulance.

Back in January I sprained my ankle pretty bad while walking across my bedroom. Apparently my right ankle did not step forward like the rest of my my body. It's still sore...perhaps running the 19.3 miles on it a few weeks ago was not the best choice, but I had already paid for my trip to WDW. :P

Several years ago. Had a pretty heavy box of empty glass jugs. Was going to put in utility room til they could be recycled. Sat said box on cement floor of utility room, bent over & gave it a good shove to move it over some. Box went careening across room, hit the bottom of an old hollow closet door that was propped against the wall. Just as I was straightening up the door fell & hit me on the bridge of my nose knocking my glasses off. Thank goodness nose wasn't broken but I did wind up with 2 black eyes. This was just a couple days before a road trip so I can only imagine what people thought everytime we stopped for gas & bathroom break, lol.

Bent over to put on my shoes and threw out my back. Took many weeks to recover.

I have also gone to sleep and woke up injured with neck or back problems.

I stood up and broke two toes. Literally was sitting, stood up and heard/felt the crunch. At the time I was even young and fit. I had a whole room full of witnesses - I was administering a test to a roomful of on duty soldiers and they all heard the crunch!

I also had a back injury bending over to grab something on the seat of a chair - so not even a full bend! DH and to drive me to urgent care and they gave me pain and muscle relaxant shots. I don't even remember how he got me there.

I was walking up the steps to our new city hall to view my daughters photographs she had taken of our town that were on display…I remember thinking ‘those bricks are coming awfully close to my face’ - next thing I remember was waking up in an ambulance on my way to the ER…I ended up with both my big toes broken/splintered and absolutely no idea how I did it.

At the age of 54 I've taken up unicycling. I thought it was my rear end that I needed to be concerned about "butt" it turned out my wrists were more in danger of getting injured.

Recently we had our wooden porch steps replaced with brick (7 risers). We replaced the metal hand rails with wooden ones. Before the new ones were installed, I decided to go for a walk (our driveway is out back so I don’t use the front stairs all that often). I must’ve reached out for the handrail and just toppled off of the side. I couldn’t sneeze, cough or laugh for over a month, I suspect I at least bruised if not broke some ribs.

Yesterday I literally sliced off a chunk of my finger while preparing dinner. Spent some time in the ER but will be ok.

I was sneaking up on my DD while she was cleaning her room to scare her and she didn’t know I was behind her and she threw a heavy textbook behind her and it came down on my head and broke my nose lol. Last time I ever tried to jump scare her lol

I did something similar but dumber, tried to get a piece of food out of the stick blender while it was still on. It was a scene similar to the Julia child SNL skit from years ago with the blood spurting. Since it wasn’t a cut but a chunk of missing flesh, it was packed with a material that hardened and my flesh re-grew over the next couple of months.

Have had 2 the tie for stupid injuries. This past Jan. went tobogganing with DS21 and broke my tailbone. The toboggan trail was not well maintained and hit a bump and came down in pain. Second was several years ago. I was carrying DS, who whose about 18 months, into a hot tub at an indoor waterpark and missed a step. I broke the small toe on my left foot right where it meets the foot. Almost had to have surgery, thankfully it healed just had to wear the boot for about 1 month.

Went to put something in the outside recycle can barefoot - my feet got wet while I was outside and then when I stepped back into the garage onto the smooth concrete, I slipped because of the wet feet and twisted my knee so badly I could hardly walk. It took close to a month before it was better.

My DH had no sympathy for me, all he said was "I guess that's why you shouldn't go out there barefoot."

My son was a month old and it was NYE. I tripped over a box of diapers and broke my elbow. It was TERRIBLE.

Broke tail bone taking dig out - didn’t think know deck had heavy frost
Broke ribs cleaning counters
Broke foot stepping off chair
Broke other foot snaking chair at work
Broke toes on first mentioned foot playing with kids hit corner trim
Broke other side ribs on desk at work
Broke ankle dropped stone on it
I could keep going - I am bit accident prone -all stupid things that easily could have been avoided
