Show me your Disney Jars!!

Since we aren't going until 2017, I wanted something somewhat cute to sit on our kitchen counter. The kids keep putting whatever money they find in ther jars along with their birthday money and allowance. They're loving it! It will be theirs to spend at their discretion on whatever souvenirs they want.

SO SO CUTE! OMGoodness! Love.

I don't have a cute container...for our last trip I cleaned out an old olive oil (plastic) container. Because the top was so narrow I thought it was a good choice since there was no way to get the $ out without cutting it open, which I planned to do just before we left. That was for our trip last Nov and we haven't planned our next trip yet so I just have an envelope in my night stand where I'm stashing the $20 cash back I get at the grocery store each week. I'm afraid if I got a cute jar or something for the counter the kids would get too excited and drive me crazy about going. Maybe once we have an actual trip planned I'll do it!

We bought this popcorn tin on our first trip, cut a slit in the top, and use this for money or GCs. It just sits on top of the fridge.

For our last trip's "Mickey Jar", we filled one of those clear bear-shaped containers that animal crackers come in. Just like this one:

After we returned from our December trip, we began filling several of the souvenir cotton candy containers I had brought home with us (since I had a zillion snack credits left over).

These are the jars we are using for the grandkids for saving. We aren't going Dec 2017 so plenty of time to save.

Our next trip is hopefully next May (DL) & I have this pickle jar I decorated for us to put $$ in. I painted the lid with chalk paint so we can keep up with how much we have accumulated.

We have a large pretzel container (from Sam's, Costco or BJs). We cut a hole in the top and decorated the outside with Dis characters we printed from online. Nothing fancy. We actually need a new container because this one was decorated when DD was very into Disney Jr. Her tastes have changed. I like that it is big enough to hold the GCs I buy when we have extra cash.

We have a jug similar to country bear jamboree. We might need to break it to get the money out.

I use a Mason jar of any leftover lunch money or money from items we've sold. When I get over $100, it goes into a vacation account, so we can earn a little interest. My girls had to pay for part of the trip because
Daddy said he wasnt paying for another Disney trip, so they do chores and earned their part through allowance.

I might go a little different direction in character though. I might use Repunzel and put frying pan fund or Elsa and say frozen assets

Those are too cute. I am just using an old coffee can (are they still called that?) with a slip in the lid. It is not really "Disney" fund though. I just throw my lose change in it.

I have 3 jars. I see something cute and I have to make it. Here they are.
This one holds gift cards and such. It's an old pickle jar I decorated up.

This one holds loose change...all but dimes, you will see why below. Again it is an old jar (Spaghetti sauce) that I decorated with stickers

This is what we have been putting dimes in for over a year! It's almost full and heavy as all get out! I took a 2 liter bottle, covered it in Mickey duct tape and cute a slit in the top and super glued the lid on (yes, I got the Coke points off first!). I then added the sign.

My boss is planning a trip next fall - I may make this for her to place on her desk or bookshelf. Thanks for the idea!

I was using a Goofy coffee can I got on a trip many years ago, but my DD6 got this coin counting bank for Christmas so now we use her bank. She's been putting in her tooth fairy money and any change she finds, and I put in my change as well. It will be souvenir money for her and her little sister on our trip next summer.

I got served my first pitcher of beer at a Fireman's picnic, 1977. I was 15. I brought home the pitcher and I have been saving coins with it ever since. A full pitcher of coins is usually $120. (I hate beer and it was pretty much my first and last beer I ever drank).

Once we decided to take the plunge and start planning our trip, I knew I wanted something to get the kids excited about helping out. It's worked well so far!

We are filling a 2 lite bottle with dimes. Dimes for Disney. It's at about two inches full counted it the other day and it's up to $61. we also have a Nickles to never land and pennies for princesses! They love separating the change every couple days.

I have a plastic Folgers canister I bought just for Disney money but haven't decorated it yet (eventually it will be Mickey's pants). However I have started throwing change in to it, so that counts for something, right? lol
