that is so cool! i've always wanted to go to barrow.Field Biology/Ecology Independent Studies
I will split my time between a couple field stations and the main campus, but mostly I will be out "in the field". I am looking forward to spending several weeks at the UAF Geophysical Institute's station at Barrow, studying sea ice & its effect on the ecosystem.
This is a pre-cursor to my Masters studies, like laying the groundwork for what I want to do for my thesis.
I've never spent more than a couple days in a row above the Arctic Circle in the winter, so experiencing several weeks of 24 hours of "night" will be interesting, to say the least.
Color me a bit crazy.
