Your childs nickname

One of my kids has been Dangerboy since he was about 9 or 10. He was always ending up in the ER for something. He turns 20 next week, so maybe I should start calling him Dangerman

dd had quite a few in nicu and when she was wee. our fave and most often used, altho we dont know where it came from- doodlebug- or doodles for short. other than that i use babes, or babester. ds is just "b"...nothing else really stuck for him! lol

My older boy's name is Joey - and I'll occasionally call him Jose'. No idea why - I'm not hispanic.

And again - with no rhyme or reason, my younger boy is Danny - and I call him Stanley. Again - no idea. He actually asked me the other day why I call him Stanley and I stopped and thought about it - and said "You know, I don't know"

my DD12 has always been my babygirl. DH calls her squirt. my grandfather called her twinkle toes, then shortened it to twinks. God how i miss him.

My mom always called me (and still does sometimes) Beula. I've always hated it. I have no idea where she came up with this. I mean my middle name is Beatrice, but i dont think thats close to Beula.
Meanwhile, my sister has a cute nickname, Petunia, and my bother's nickmane is Buddy D.

Monkey or Boogers/Boogs...

The monkey I'm not sure where that came from... but it fits now as she likes to climb and hang on anything.

Boogers/Boogs comes from the fact that she had a nasal deformity when she was born and so all of the snot on one side of her nose came out the front and none drained down her throat (which is normal)... She had some SERIOUS boogers that child. But she tells me that only DH and I can call her Boogers/Boogs because she knows it means we love her (term of affection is what she's getting at).

In many parts of the south "bubba"means brother. It comes from little kids not being able to say the word brother. For us, it does not mean redneck.

I'm a native Texan. I know it sometimes means brother. But, he's an only child so I can't claim that definition.

My girls I call "Em" (Emily) and "Sar" (Sarah) - nothing unusual...

My son, though, I call him "Spud" or "Spuddy" when he was a baby we took a pic and his head looked like a potato - LOL! So it started there and 7yrs later I still call him that... he always tells me, "Mom, I am your little Spud" and he is right

My soon to be 11 year old daughter is Abigail. Obviously, this got shortened to Abby and from there, Abba, Abba-Dabba-Do, Abba-Do, Doobs and Doobie. We tend to use Doobs the most.
Sometime she is "Minnie Me", but I am the only one who can use that one
Now when she was about 3, rather than shortening her name, she added to it whenever she heard a name she liked so she became "Abby-magail Marie Sally Hannah Heisa Rachel Rebecca Melissa" And this was consistent when anyone asked her name.

I'm not sure where I got my DS's original nickname "Bunkey" That evolved into "Bunkeyroo" Now he's just "bud" or if he's on Xbox Live we'll tease him and call him "dude" because that's what it seems like he's always yelling at his friends (as in "dude, why did you do that?" or "dude, don't go in there!").

I don't know if anyone here remembers the "briarberry bears" from Fisher-Price, but that's where DD got one of her nicknames "Sarahberry". She has also always been petite so another nickname is "Peanut" cuz she's no bigger than a peanut. She prefers "Princess" but I have to keep reminding her that it's a nickname, not her occupation. If she's really being snotty she's "Diva" (she hates that!)

My oldest DS's nickname is Bub, but when he was a baby we called him Elmo because he had bright red hair (it has since faded to strawberry blonde).

My DD's nickname is Trwirly and/or Girly.

And my youngest DS's nickname is Bean.

I love them all!

DS has been called Natepoo, Goofballbutt, Natedog, snickerdoodle, stinkerbutt, and his personal favorite, Evil One. I have to assume it's his favorite...it's the one name DS always answers to...

hubby calls thomas buggaboo. he was just a few hours old and it just came out.

when i was pregnant, he was TAZ or moose (he was HUGE before he should have been!). his name is thomas andrew z (last name). after he was born, he wasn't a taz anymore, he was thomas.

sometimes he's called little or tiny littles (nothing little about him! )

i really prefer piglet. he's a bottomless pit and he's only 14 months old. i'm in trouble. LOL

ours are not very original and we usually just go by the shorter version of their names.

Junior for my oldest or Little Albert.. who is now over 6 feet tall and osmetimes still gets called Little Albert

Belle we called 6 since she was born with 6 toes

and William is just Will

My son's given name is Christopher and he "officially" goes by Kit.

He calls himself Kitstopher.

I call him KitKat.

His daddy and grandfather call him Goo. When he was a baby, he would sit and call out Goo when ever he was excited or wanted something so DH started calling him Goo-Baby and it stuck.
