Using other families cards for fastpass?

If you have a child who cannot/will not ride a certain ride, would you take their ticket to have an extra fastpass for yourself? Or is that abusing the limits?

I did this in the past when it was just DH and I. He didn't want to ride TT or RNR. So we used my ticket to get a FP for one and his to get a FP for the other. Who is going to know?

I would do it with a child ticket if I really wanted to ride. I don't think it's a big deal. I'm sure someone here will see it as abusing the system.

 i didn't think it was a big deal? it's not like we're going to be sent to mickey jail! pirate:

 someone agrees!

I did this often, and more times than not I ended up sprinkling pixie dust on someone and giving the extra FPs away because I decided not to use them.

I can't imagine it's an actual abuse of the system. Let's look at it this way. You paid for 4 tickets. You can get 4 Fastpasses at a time for any given FP ride/attraction. 4 FastPasses get used. Whether Huey and Dewey each ride twice or Huey and Dewey and Louie and Uncle Scrooge each ride once can't possibly matter. The system is not being overtaxed or "used" more by two people riding twice versus four people riding once.

If there's a valid argument saying this is an abuse of the system, I'd LOVE to read it!

We do it and have done it. I didn't think there was a problem with that.

I see no issues with it and now that DD is three and we had to pay for a PAP for her I definitely plan on using it!!

Of course this is an abuse. If the person who the ticket was purchased for does not use the fast pass you are taking advantage of the system and making others wait longer. I suppose you are one of those people who have Disney reservations on speed dial too. Even though we have the ability to use speed dial we would never use it to gain an unfair advantage over the other customers when making those tough to get reservations 180 days out. In fact, we always use the rotary dial phone just to make sure we can't be accused of trying to get an advantage over other customers. If you have to ask the question I think you already know the answer, now don't you. Please don't try to make yourself feel better by getting me to justify what you surely must know to be wrong. Oh, by the way, if you haven't guessed by now I am just kidding. Though I am sure there are some who might agree with the absurdity of the first part of my post. Have a great time.

Not abuse, you paid for the tickets, and the priviledge. If they wanted to maybe they could stop children's tickets from getting a FP for RNRC or whatever, but they don't. All's fair my friend!

I am just tired enough to have been jolted awake by your post and then almost peed myself laughing!

We used the FP's to get one for me (6 mos PG) on Splash when DD and DH rode it and then I would give it to someone in the standby line while I was waiting for them while they were on the ride! Gave me something to do (DS was asleep in the stroller pretty often) and I hope I made someone's day!

No problem or abuse at all!

We did this several times:

Got fast passes for entire family of 5--although DS (7) and DS (4) will not be riding.

Go back at fastpass time and tell CM we will be using child swap. CM gives child swap ticket. DH and DD go and ride. When they come off, we use childswap fast pass for DD & I to ride. Then DH and DD can ride again using the other fastpasses. So DD got three rides.

Same strategy for Space Mountain although DS (7) will ride that also. Since the child swap parent can take two other people then I got to ride with DD and DS while DH waited with our youngest.

Long story - do it and enjoy!

You had me going until I read the part about speed dialing, ;)
