We are taking our 5, 3 and 1 year old to Sci Fi. I'm hearing though that it may be scary for them, and that the shows would be over their heads. I am thinking that maybe I should change Sci Fi to Coral Reef because they all love the fish and would enjoy looking at them! But if I did that, then that means the day that we are at Hollywood we'd have to leave Hollywood, head to Epcot, then probably return to Hollywood so it would be a pain in the butt!

We tried 50s Primtime and prefer not to go back this trip and we aren't interested in Mama Melrose (we have Tutto Italia instead).

I don't think the film is in the least scary - it's mostly cartoons and schlocky fifties-style sci fi trailers. But I am not a little kid - it's possible someone else would know the effect on little kids.

We went to Sci Fi when DD's were 3 and about 9 months. It's a little tricky when you have a high chair, because it sticks out on the side of the car and the aisles are narrow (in my opinion). Sitting in the car was fun, but my children did not care for the movie. It was a hard seating situation with the cars when you have to take care of little children. At one point DD hit her head on the car and started screaming, and it was just chaos with little room to maneuver. I hear many people like it though. It just wasn't for us until the kids get older.

We also went to Coral Reef and the kids loved the fish! It was also at a time though when they had the personalized menus and the diver signs, so it was a special dinner for us.

They will LOVE IT!!! Silly, classic black and white "monster movies" that your kids will laugh at, plus a few Tom & Jerry cartoons.. I highly recommend it!!!

my kids were not at all bothered by the film :thumbsup2 we got seated in a car and they loved that !

We took our DS when he was 3 and again at 6 and he had a great time both times. If you hype up the fact that you will eat in a car, they will totally love it!! They do have off menu items like hamburgers and chicken tenders for the kids, so dont be afraid to ask. My DS still talks about the Jello that attacks people, (The Blob trailer, he thought it was so funny:thumbsup2) Have a great time!!

We went recently and neither of my children (5&9) "got" the campy humor of the 50's clips...my husband and I were laughing, but they really weren't. My daughter even hid her face a few times...so I would def. recommend the Coral Reef and do the Sci Fi in about 10 years. :-)

This is a restaurant that I have been wanting to try. My DD8 would love it and would probably be laughing at all of the movies, but my DD6 is very skiddish and does not like anything scarry (she closes her eyes and whines at some of the villan parts in a Disney classic movie :sad2:, however I am trying to break her of that). We do plan on going there some time but DH thinks we should wait another year for it.

We went when my oldest was 3 and sat at the tables in the back--do not recommend this--and again when my oldest was 4.5 and sat in the cars which was great!

Both times he was so quiet watching the shows, we had to shovel the food in his mouth he was so into the movies! He loved it. When we went with a 6-month-old we just let her sit by us in the car instead of using a high-chair...too difficult in the car configuration. It was fine.

I say go for it. It's such a cool atmosphere. And may I suggest burgers for dinner even if they aren't on the menu.

We ate at Sci-Fi last February with then 5 year old and 22 month old DDs. They both LOVED it! We all did actually. The movies are silly and fun and DD5 was ecstatic to see a Tom & Jerry cartoon. They shared the kids cheese pizza and really enjoyed the fruit and veggies that came with it. We stuck to burgers and shakes and my mom had chili and LOVED it all. The burgers were the best we had at WDW (mine was veggie).

On the other hand we hated Coral Reef. We weren't anywhere near the tank and the girls couldn't see the fish at all, the food was disgusting and we won't be going back. I'd go with Sci-Fi for sure!

We ate there in March of this year. My boys were 3 and 6. They both really loved it and weren't scared at all. It was great for them!!
