Hi everyone,

This is my first post. My family and I are planning a trip to Disney World at the end of May 2005. I am so overwhelmed with the hotel choices both on and off property. Can anyone recommend a good (value or moderately) priced hotel on-property that can accommodate 2 adults and 4 children. My children are 6, 3, 3, and 2.

Also, would you recommend staying on-site or off-site? We will be driving to Orlando, so we will have our own transportation.

I guess that I should mention that we only need rooms since we already have tickets to get into the parks.

Thanks so much!

I would think you would need 2 rooms at a value or moderate, I don't know if you could get 6 in one room at Port Orleans Riverside with a trundle bed (I don't know if your two year old "counts" or if there would be room for the trundle and a crib)
I always like to stay on-site, nothing like being part of the Disney magic.

Thank you for responding. I have a question about Port Orleans -- are the beds queen sized beds? When we travel, it usually ends up that I am sleeping with the 2-year old and the 6-year old and my DH is sleeping with the 3-year old twins. If the beds are at least queen-sized, then we should be ok. Are the rooms small or a good size?

I'd say stay onsite, especially with 4 kids! It's very easy and convenient to shuttle back and forth between the parks and your onsite resort.

Have you considered a wing room at Contemporary (CR)? I'm not sure what the rate would be, but the wing rooms can be fairly reasonable depending on the season. The standard wing rooms at CR are among the largest in WDW. Plus, you can walk back and forth to Magic Kingdom and you also have the use of the monorail right at CR.

I can't help you with your questions re POR, but I'm sure there are lots of other people that know the answers. POR is a beautiful resort. I'm just not sure if the room size if large enough for your family. As a side note, we also have twins (2 yrs old) and have taken them to WDW 3 times so far! What a riot! Have fun.

The beds are double.
As the other poster has said maybe you should consider the Contemporary...
From allearsnet.com :
The Contemporary has standard rooms and suites. Standard rooms have two queen beds and a day bed or a king-size bed and a day bed. They can accommodate up to five people plus a child under 3 who would use a crib. Suites, in various configurations and price ranges, are also available.

we just booked a vacation at POR for 2 adults and 4 children ages 11, 9, 6, and 2 .. i hope we fit but i think it will be tight. for some reason we just cant get a pin code, we got them for years and haven't received one since last spring. :rolleyes1
