The Phantom - the "villain", loves/obsessed with Christine, haunts/controls the theater
Christine Daae - the female lead, a dancer in the opera and daughter of a famous musician until she is 'discovered' for her singing and becomes a star, loves her old childhood friend Raoul
Raoul, the Viscount de Chagny - a childhood friend of Christine who is in love with her and a patron/benefactor of the theater
Meg Giry - a ballerina and Christine's best friend
Madame Giry - The mother of Meg Giry, she's the head of the ballet departmemt, sometimes acts as a caretaker and cares for Christine
Carlotta Giudicelli - the prima donna/diva of the theater, a soprano that is replaced sometimes with Christine
Monsieur Richard Firmin and Monsieur Gilles Andre - the new managers of the theater, at first they don't believe in the phantom but then they do when Christine disappears
Ubaldo Piangi - the lead male opposite Carlotta
Joseph Buquet - a scene changer who knows/talks about the Phantom and ends up getting killed by him
Monsieur Reyer - the counductor (very minor)
Monsieur Lefevre - the previous owner who sells the theater to the managers and leaves "for his health" (very minor)
The Auctioneer - auctions things off from the theater when it's closed (very minor)

June: she smirked. Finally, a book she enjoyed.
