I actually like the new Victoria- she does the part the best since Heather Thom left. Isn't this Phllyis the original Phylils? I know there was another one at one point, but I thought Michelle Stafford was the original one way back when all the Danny/Cricket/Phllyis junk began...?

Speaking of Sharon and Jack, I think they might be alluding to a Sharon/David Ciao (sp?) romance in the future (or at least testing the waters of it).

Yes, you are right. But I did enjoy her brief replacement.

I do think of all the replacements, Victoria's the best but I still loved Heather Tom as Victoria.

What's up with Paul not keeping in touch with any of his children, especially the baby with Eva Longoria? Where's Mary, his mom? I'd love to see her again.

No, I don't remember Phyllis in bed with them. But I do remember when she kidnapped Michael and put him in her trunk I think and when she ran down Paul and Cricket.

She followed them on their honeymoon. They got in bed and started cuddling with each other. Except it was PHYLLIS they were each with! She was in the middle! Should have seen their faces when they realized that! A classic moment.

I thought he planned to rape her. Yep, he and his brother sure changed. Phyllis too! I guess Victor changed also after he locked his wife Julia down in the basement. Wow, must be some water in GC to change people so much!

And Cricket was engaged to her brother Scott for awhile. Similar to Mac and Billy falling for each other.

Kimo is Jack's Vietnamese son...maybe he could work for House of Kim in the Asian market? That would be a good twist!

And how about Lauren's Scott? She had a couple phone calls with him recently. I love when the mom reeeeaaallly loves her kid on soaps and then they disappear to boarding school or elsewhere until they reemerge, like someone else said, 10 years older with a chip on his/her shoulder.

Weren't she and Josh together since they were 12 or something? And, how are Daisy and Tami cousins? Wouldn't that mean their mothers are sisters? I started watching after not watching for a long time (like Y&R), but I don't have Soapnet to help. Thanks.

When Reva had one of her amnesia spells (think it was when she drove off the bridge maybe), she wound up on San Christabel and "married" Richard. Johnathan is her son with him, but raised by Olivia's sister and her vicious husband. Daisy (aka Susan, previously played by Brittany Snow of American Dreams) is Harleys child with Dylan, Reva and Billy's son.
I wasn't watchng the show then but picked it up from various sites.

Thank you, Robin. I think my family life is dysfunctional and then I watch a soap or two and think: gee, there are actual adults thinking all this up! You have to wonder what their family life is like...

I sort of remember references to the "off the bridge" with Reva, but did not know that she had a child with Billy or the one with Billy. I just knew of the two w/ Josh. Where is Dylan?

I am so impressed with so many posters remembering the names and story plots. I really appreciate all the hints (I am middle aged and admit forgetting is my forte ) that help bring it back.

It's funny, I had never, ever watched GL until a few years back, in our area GH is shown at 4PM, leaving a gap at 3PM unless you flip over to GL. I started watching it off and on for ther 30 minutes after I got the kids home from school. Now older DD is in middle school and younger still in elementary, so I leave the house at 2:55 and don't get home till almost 4, so I miss it. I tried doing the podcast but would find myself distracted while trying to catch who's voice was whose. I read the daily updates on TVGuide soaps and read SOap Opera Weekly to try to follow this one. I didn't start watching till during right at the time where Jenna died, saw the Drew/Jessie stuff with Rebecca Budig as Michelle, then all the Santos stuff. I had no clue who Dylan was till they brought in the Lemays (Susan's adoptive dad and Susan) when Harley tracked her down. Dad wound up marrying Beth and they had a baby (saw that part). Dad, and maybe the baby too, died in a house fire. Now, it's really strange, creating backstory, changing history. I'm about sick of all of them. I just recently started watching Y&R for a change of pace, plus I can catch up on it through SOapnet.

Beth's baby ended up belonging to Phillip instead of Daisy's adoptive father. He was named James, and he is alive and well, just never seen! Phillip and Beth were in a plane crash, snow storm, thought they were dying......that is when Harley and Phillip split up and she had the baby with Rick. The daughter Rick had with Mel should be younger than his son, but the son is still a little boy and the daughter is a teenager. Yes, I watch too many soaps!

The same thing happened with Nina and Phillip's son, Phillip. He was born years before Jill got pregnant with Billy, but then Billy came back older than Phillip! I'd love to see Nina back, too. I loved her character (and we could finally find out what Rose did with her first baby!), but she would be way to old for Cane! I'm 34, and I was a little girl when they were teenagers!

Talking about Jill being pregnant w/ Billy, I remember her (and John) having a pool party right before she delivered. She was in this (I think) red swimsuit and these 5 inch heels. I just laughed at the whole ludicrous idea of a 9 months pregnant woman in these scary tall shoes with this "new" center of gravity. But, then, in the Soaps, there is no problem getting back in that size 2 a day after labor, either.

And does anyone remember that the saint of a man John tried to make Jill get an abortion. She got pregnant on purpose because she was grieving for Phillip,and John wanted no part of it.

I remember when Victor locked Julia's boyfriend down in the basement. Paul was paid to go down and feed him. And Victor beat Julia and caused her to miscarry. If Victor can reform, so can Michael and Kevin (I love them), and why not Phyllis! I just hope they don't hook Kevin up with Colleen.

Darn, I missed out on the Julia phase. I agree that the saintly John didn't appear that way when he was pushing the abortion (totally not a man's decision IMHO). Vic jumps back and forth, good and bad, such a yo-yo. I have always liked Kay, so I am looking forward to a story line with her and Jill for a change.

Colleen is such a pain. Whiny, manipulative and (I THINK) not even very cute. I think the Mack character should have just punched her. Colleen needs to be retired for a while.

Dylan is being recast. I really loved the old Dylan. He has always been in and out of Reva's life. I'm assuming they are bringing him in with the Daisy storyline. I hope they aren't hooking him up with Harley-I love her and Gus together. Brian Gaskill (was briefly on B&B as a Marone and on ATWT as Katie's stalker) has been cast. I don't really see him as Dylan.

For more back story:

Reva hooked up with Billy as a teen while on the outs with Josh. She got pregnant and gave the baby up for adoption. When she went off the bridge after having Shayne, she ended up in San Christobel, married Richard, and had Jonathan. Edmund, Richard's brother, wanted Jonathan dead so he would be next in line to the throne. Olivia stole the baby and gave him to her sister so Edmund wouldn't kill him. Then Reva vanished, and ended up in that weird Amish village-strange story! Everyone in San Christobel thought she had done something to the baby.
