Well I hate to admit I was wrong. But I do love to admit my fellow Dis'ers are right.

I must say, you were all right & I was wrong.

I was always one of those late starters at WDW. I never understood the up at the crack of dawn when on vacation.

Now granted, we usually go when it is not very crowded, so we hardly have any wait on anything (except Peter Pan & Pooh :rotfl2:).

And our trip, it was really nice, everything was a walk on, even Space & Splash Mountains.

But the last 2 days of our trip, it started to get a bit crowded, with Spring Breaks starting & all. We started seeing 30 - 45 min waits. Good thing we had ridden all the big rides earlier in the week.

Last day of our trip we were up early & at the MK a few minutes before 9:00am. And it was fantastic! I could not believe how empty the park was. Walk ups to everything, characters everywhere without waits!

Then by 11:00am, the park was BUSY. By the time we left at 3:30pm, you could not move it was so busy (a Saturday & the first official day of a lot of spring breaks).

Being at Toontown when it opened sure was pretty neat. We had never done it before & DS LOVED it.

Now, on our next trip, I dont think we will be early risers. We will start moving when my DS gets up, and if we are up before him, DH & I will just be ready for when he wakes up.

But we will do LESS character breakfasts, and more character dinners. Besides I like to sit down for dinner a whole lot more then breakfast. We are much more breakfast on the go people anyway.

So there you have it. You were all right. I was really wrong. Early mornings are AMAZING, especially if it is buys!

If it is not busy, I still stand behind my "who cares what time you get there". But if it is busy, you better believe I am getting there early!

And we will open Toontown at least once on our next trip!

You were all right. I was wrong. I bow down to the members of the DIS!

I'm glad you had a good time! I love being an early riser (but only at WDW), even the food courts are a "walk-on" :teeth:

Yeah, you really do have to get up early to see all that you want or need to or just to avoid the rush. We wake up early b/c we love to watch the opening ceremonies

Yep! The early bird get the worms.

At Disney it the magic of being there when the rope drops and getting to be first in line.

Best advice I ever got was to start early and always start at the back of the park! :yay:

I'm a believer in getting there when the parks open. We were at the Toontown rope drop on our last trip. Eeyore and Tigger were among the characters that came out to greet us. Eeyore took over control of my youngest DD's stroller and pushed her into Toontown while Tigger held her hand! I'm not sure why they both focused on her but it was a highlight of the trip.

THe reason we always stay more than a week is because we are late risers. We get to the parks when others are heading back for afternoon naps, etc. We also would never go when it is a huge holiday like Spring break, etc.

We always get to the parks at opening. It is the only way to go! You can get so much done in those first couple of hours.
