Update on my neighbor - his Christmas lights are still dark and he's still opening and closing the garage door by hand. I guess the circuit is still broken after 2 days. His wife just drove in and it was raining so she had to park in the driveway and run to the front door. Knowing her, she won't put up with it much longer. He's waiting for an electrician friend to come over and help him fix it. She will probably call her own electrician and have it fixed before he gets home from work!

Seriously, though, as I said in my original post we really are friends with these people. They're wonderful people and great neighbors. But, when he said we were weird and then his circuit broke, I couldn't help but laugh!!!!!

How many vacations can you take that you feel totally safe, you don't have to worry about the quality of the resort or the food that you are eating...

Every trip amazes me as I get to people watch and see others experience what I and my children have experienced for the first time.

It may be chaotic at times but I always take a few moments just to veg out on a bench and suck in the atmosphere. Disney World is a place for children to escape into fantasy... and adults to escape into childhood.


It is the best vacation on earth.

So call me a freak ... I love it.

So my husband and I were outside today and our neighbor from across the street came over to chat. We were putting up the lights on our house and mentioned that we would not be putting up all of our lighted reindeer, etc. since we would be leaving in less than 3 weeks. He asked, "Where are you going in 3 weeks?" We replied, "Disneyworld!" What does he say? "You people are weird." I promptly told him I would be passing his little comment on to my friends on the Dis Board and he shouldn't be surprised if he has some bad luck in the near future (I made it sound like you guys could collectively hex him!).

So then he went back to work on his lights and we kept working quickly on ours because we always try to beat him and get ours lit first.

Then he comes back and guess what? He said he blew a circuit breaker in his garage! Not only can he not turn his Christmas lights on, he can't even close his garage door without pulling it down himself. Is that karma or what?
I told him it's because he dissed our Disney trip and he just laughed!

So now our lights are blazing and his are still dark. And we're weird!? Seriously, this guy is a good friend of ours! He claims that putting our lights up isn't a race but we still try to secretly beat each other every year. And we watch each other's houses while we're on vacation so he'll be getting our mail for 10 days! But, I can't help but laugh about his breaker. It's not funny and it's a big pain for him, but he did make that comment.....

Sorry, but, yeah it is funny - serves him right!
