Im sure we've all heard this line, but something I just noticed was that all the people that say this to me, are people who NEVER go on vacation!

Its not like they are visiting France one year, then next year they head out to Vegas, then 6 months later their in Hawaii, etc. Nope, they don't go anywhere, yet they still have the gull to make a statement like I shouldn't be going to Disneyworld so often.

Is it just jealousy or what?!

I don't let people bother me when they make comments like that. Expecially when they say WDW/DLR is "kid's park."

What cracks me up about those comments is that typically ALL people who go on vacation have a favorite spot they like to return to...whether it's a camping spot, a hotel, and B&B, etc. For us, it's Disney.

yet they still have the gull

You mean gall.

I actually wonder myself why some people make several trips a year to DisneyWorld and never go anywhere else, although of course it's their right to do so. They are missing out on a lot (and yes, I have travelled all over the US, Canada, and Europe).

Some people just don't get it. People have to comment on everything, just let other people be happy.

I went to the Virgin Islands a couple of years ago and remember thinking on the way back "That's it? Where's the rides? Where's the fun?" WDW is the best for a fun filled vacation as I'm not a lay around on the beach kind of person. Let other people go to those places, WDW is for me!

I agree! There is so much to do at WDW! I am also not the kind of person who can lay on the beach all day long. When I am on vacation I want to DO something.

I know. We are leaving August 15th and I promised DD, age 18, that we would lay on the beach for three days, which is what SHE wanted to do, but then we are going to to WDW for three days, Of course, since I am paying, she has no choice. :rotfl2: (and I have to ride Everest...I mean we have been watching them build it for years..pics of us with all the buildingi steps over the years)

And as much as I like the beach, especially when I was younger, and um, bathingsuitthinner.....three days. I am guessing she is going to be bored to death!

THe great thing about WDW that people don't understand is that EVERYONE has fun, no matter how old, there is something for everyone. ANd it is the only place where DD and I can go together and have fun together without being bored.

At the beach, we will be at Cocoa Beach, what in the heck are we going to do at night? We can't go clubbing together..lol..she would be mortified. And how many movies can you see. At WDW, we stay in the parks till they close, then go to DTD, or back to the hotel and pass out from exhaustion. WDW is a family bonding experience and it is NEVER boring!

I do agree with lost in cyberspace... even though our family is super excited about our first ,and likely only trip for several years, we will be continuing to travel to other parts of the US and out of the country as well. As a kid my family went on one trip to Disney and the other trips were equally fun, but just different. Norway one year, Ireland, New York, Philly... not Disney, but just as worth the time and money. We plan to take the kids to Africa in a few years. If we do Disney once or twice a year we'll be short vacation days AND vacation $$! But, life is short... people should do what THEY want. We just want to experience other people and places too. :wave2: It's all good.

I actaully just came from a few of those great places-Boston and Niagara Falls.I've been to fRANCE :artist: AND OTHER PLACES IN eOROPE AS WELL AS TO THE cARRIBBEAN AND hAWAII (Ssorry caps lock problem)

Graet time-great trips but... :cheer2: I'm still going to Disneyworld! (just like everyone who wins the Super Bowl!)

Honestly, I love the beach but I am able to get my Disney and beach fix by going to Vero or Disney's Hilton Head resorts!

I agree DJ Disney Kid-most people who say that are going NO WHERE!

In my case, I can't drive, and the disney transoprtation is there for me to use. I can't do that in some vacation spots.

They now just ask me When is my next trip not where to anymore.

I've been all over the US a bit of Canada and Mexico doing different sports.

I just haven't found anything that compairs to the fun we have at Disney for the cost and ease of travel so why go anywhere else.

Now DD is a bit older we might try a Cruise but as long as she enjoys Disney thats fine with me.

We get harassed by family for going to WDW too!
But we also go on other vacations as well, and often.

And the person who scorns us the most is often the one to find articles in the Sunday travel section of the newspaper regarding WDW and give them to us for us to read saying "See what I found for you and clipped. I thought you might be interedted in this.".

This person goes NO WHERE!!
So I think some of it is jealousy. ;)

I think it doesn't matter where you go as long as it makes you happy  It's your hard earned vacation and everyone should enjoy it as they please!! :smickey: and hey whatever "floats your boat"!! :boat:

Ditto... we've been to DL once and it's likely to be the one and only time for us too. Not only does the distance make it so much more expensive, but there is a whole world to explore and even tho we loved our DL trip and would love to go again, we also want to see other places, see what the world has to offer and how the other half live.

To us, travel is an education, but that us. I know a lot of people who go to WDW time and time again and never venture anywhere new... that's their choice.. but to me, it's a shame not to see other places.

I tend to agree that there are other places too and I personally intend to see them ALL someday. ;)

What?! Where? No! The hell you say! People go somewhere else?! Other than Disney?! What are they thinking?!

Was recently told could go to Europe for cost of Disney trip. Reply: "But if the Disney in France was really that good, the English people wouldn't bother coming over here." :)

Sometimes say: "But they don't have Splash Mountain, now, do they?"
