You Just Can't Do That Disney!

Changing The Living Seas ACTUAL NAME to something like "Fun With Nemo and Friends"???
Taking an entire pavillion, not an attraction, not a few rides, not a show, but a WHOLE PAVILLION and centering it around ONE MOVIE??? That is like calling The Land "Fun with Simba and Friends"! How about those of us who yes, thought Finding Nemo was cute, but think that this Nemo thing is getting out of hand???
I would be all for putting lots of Nemo attractions INSIDE The Living Seas...but to change the name just changes the atmosphere of learning. Not to mention no longer do will we have pavillions named after elements (the POINT!) "The Land, The Sea, Space..." etc.

So...have you guys ever had a "You Just Can't Do That Disney!" moment? Relating to rides, attractions, CMs, or anything else?
AND...what do you guys think of them changing this?

I hate Finding Nemo.
I can't stand it.
Worst Disney Pixar movie ever.
I wouldn't even want attractions on that ride.
I think they should try making attractions for popular Disney classics that don't have their own ride yet.

The old name was better and more intriguing. This makes it sound like it is geared toward a youger audience. Pixar is overdone in the parks.

Are you talking about the ride they just put in Disneyland? Or are they taking a land in WDW to some really annoying extreme?

I liked Finding Nemo, it was cute, but I didn't see the big deal. I couldn't imagine an entire area being turned into Finding Nemo. That seems like it's going to be entirely directed torwards little kids, which is not the idea that the parks were based on. Blegggh.

They were going to do that with Tom Sawyer's island at DL with PotC. I guess it was just a rumor, but it sure sounds better than an entire land devoted to Finding Nemo.

Hey, I'm all for Jack Sparrow, because he is a hot piece of man candy, but I think it's silly to make AAs of him and Barbossa and put them in the ride.

I think the AAs themselves look great and are extremely realistic. But, I don't like the fact that he's there. Okay, in the last room, fine. But not in the entire ride, and have all the dialogue changed. The movie is popular now, but in a few years, it's going to be over, and, similar to LOTR, the craze is going to die down. And you know what? The classic attraction that people have loved for years and years? It'll be stuck with the characters from "that old pirate movie."

Oh, and I absolutley hate the Davey Jones effect, I think it's so cheesy.

I hate that Disney replaced Alien Encounter with Stitch. I'm such a sci-fi geek, so I loved Alien Encounter.

I also loved Who Wants to be a Millionaire-- Play It!, but they're replacing it with a Toy Story ride. I hate almost everything about Toy Story! At least I won the million points before Millionaire closed, so that I don't have to go away without ever having fulfilled my dream.

Don't like the making a ride about it idea though. Don't they have that already? Oh well, it sounds like it could be a good ride, which will make me happy.

Oh, I agree. The audio-animatronics are stunning. They just don't fit in the attraction.

When I was at WDW this past summer, I saw them working on it and all I could do was put my head down and shake it slowly. This is Disney's way of "modernizing". People want Disney to get "up-to-speed" and because WDW is for the people, they listened and are trying to, I guess, "de-classic" attractions, pavillions and rides.

I hate it. I love WDW partly because it is classic and holds so many memories...I don't want to go there and find my memories have been replaced.

They should keep the old name it is way better than "Fun with Nemo's Friends" or whatever it was. If they do go through with the name change I will still call it "The Living Seas" out loud and in my mind. Like when I pass by I'll say "let's go into the Living Seas".

I went to the Living Seas once, but the only thing open was the Turtle Talk with Crush. I found the Land and the Living Seas kind of boring, it's two buildings filled with nothing really (except for Soarin')

I like the POTC story, but it's the over publicising of it, the fake Jack Sparrow at Castaway Cay and the endless banter about it. IT WAS GOOD BUT NOT THAT GOOD.

Yeah, I don't really care either. When I was little, I used to dislike Epcot, always thought it was boring, so I get the idea of bringing characters in. I'm sorry if that "isn't what Epcot is about" or something like that. I completely understand. If I loved Epcot as much as I loved the Magic Kingdom, I'd probably feel the same way. But I don't.

There's a Nemo musical opening in Animal Kingdom, and Nemo pavilion in Epcot, a Toy Story ride going into MGM...And that's on top of all the stuff that's already there.
