We may try for 1 character meal but otherwise, just for good food. For arguments sake, not a hotel but strictly at the parks mentioned above. Tell me your favorite restaurants at these two parks and your favorite Character meal.

We really like buffet at Crystal Palace. Doesn't hurt that DD is a big Eeyore fan too. But we enjoyed the food there more than Cindy's and Liberty Tree Tavern.

Crystal palace is great, so is Liberty Tree Tavern...as for Epcot it is hard to go wrong.

Non-Character meal favs: Columbia Harbour House and Pecos Bills at MK. Rose and Crown and San Angel Inn at Epcot.
Character Meal favs: Norway princess breakfast at Ecpot and Crystal Palace at MK.

at epcot, garden grill... great character meal!! princess breakfast was a bit over-rated...

at mk... crt for breakast, definitely! (great atmosphere, great food, great princesses!)

for a quick meal, we love pecos bills (that topping bar is a meal in itself! LOL!)

I WHOLE HEARTEDLY AGREE!
Also just did Liberty Tree for the first time last trip and think it is a good family $value.

DH told me there would be lots of different suggestions! I tried for CRT for princess breakfast and it is full (we are 83 days out and you need to call 90 for that!). May try the Norway breakfast. I also like Harbor House. We do eat there every time! Le Cellier is worth looking into it sounds like! I may make a list and go to Allearsnet to check out the menus! DH wants to try San Angel so we will probably do that! Any more sugestions? Oh yes, where is Pecos Bills? There is one DH wants to try at MK and it looks closed every time we are there, wonder if that is the one. The one he is thinking of is near Small World.

We eat a meal at Alfredo's (Epcot), which is the only place in the United States where you can get the original fettucine alfredo recipe made with the old man's choice of imported parmesan, cream and butter. I've eaten the original in Italy and can tell you that this is the real thing. It's very rich (burp!) and fabulous. We got to laughing the last time we were there. At the next table, a lady hautily sent hers back because it didn't taste like the alfredo sauce she's used to from Olive Garden. She announced in a loud voice, "They don't know how to make it here!" I suggest you try it. It's wonderful.

Favorite Character Meals: CP and Norway Princess Breakfast

Favorite Epcot Meals - Almost too many to choose from:

LeCellier
Rose and Crown - the Beer Sampler and Prime Rib are excellent
San Angel - Best Lunch hands down
Chef de France - the flatbread with bacon, onions and goat cheese is a winner

Not crazy about Alfredo's. My husband's family is Italian and we have many, many wonderful small Italian restaurants here in town.

Not crazy about Biergarten food but I do love the entertainment. The kids love to see the band.

Norway has the best cold buffet in town but I wasn't crazy about the hot entree's.

Marakessh (sp?) has a wonderfully interesting belly dancer who took our girls on the dance floor with her but my husband didn't like the food.

It will all depend on what your family will like. Go to Allears and check out the menus.

Have a great trip!! :wave2:

I have to second Alfredo's--the food is great and the atmosphere is fun. I also thought the prices were reasonable for a sit down dinner. The Alfredo is super rich, so either get the appetizer or the sampler dinner that also comes with lasagna and gnocchi.

I've eaten twice at San Angel Inn and was disappointed both times. I eat a lot of authentic Mexican food, and it just doesn't compare. If your DH really wants Mexican, just stop at the Cantina counter service in Mexico. The churros and margaritas there are good.

For MK, I would suggest Crystal Palace for breakfast. It's really fun to make a PS at 8:05 or 8:15 on a non-EE day. You get to go into the park before it opens--great for pictures on Main Street, with the castle, etc. Then when you are done with breakfast, you're right there for the park opening. The food and characters are also fun, and it's the prettiest restaurant I've been in at WDW. I've heard dinner and lunch are good too, but I've never been for that.

Cosmic Ray's is the best counter service food in all of WDW--great roasted chicken dinner with potatoes and veggie and yummy burgers. They also have a soup and salad bar. The fixin's bar for the burgers is also fun, and there's lots of tables.

We always do lunch at Crystal Palace. Excellent food for a reasonable price. We would go whether there were characters or not. And lunch is a better deal than dinner.

At EPCOT, we always do lunch or dinner at the Land food court because there is a nice variety, something for everyone. Not gourmet by any means, but decent. We don't generally eat in World Showcase because there isn't anything we all agree on (DD is the main problem). DW and I have eaten at Marakesh in Morocco and enjoyed it. We ate at Nine Dragons and had an excellent meal, but it was quite a few years ago and I've heard some mixed reviews more recently.

My DH's and my favorites are CP for breakfast (oh, I can hardly wait to have some of their french toast & breakfast pizza ... yummy). Then it would be Pecos Bill for the chicken wrap. Finally CRT for lunch (Major Domo pie) or dinner. As for Epcot, Alfredo's wins. My DH and I both love the Fettucini Alfredo there. I have tried to duplicate it at home using the recipe from the Disney cookbook but it is just not as good. Let us know what your final choices are and how you enjoy them when you get back. :D

Magic Kingdom...you just have to eat at the castle...we like lunch there....way too cool! And the food has always been fresh and yummy.

I really like the character dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern...good food and great interaction...they are dressed up in 1780's costumes and it's a great restaurant to remind you of Olde Towne American....wonderful!

Epcot....we've eaten at Biergarten, Le Cellier, & Rose & Crown, I really like Rose & Crown...just like hearing the accent and it really is just like a pub in London...Le Cellier was good food..just lacked the ambience...Canada, while a great country is very similar to the US...I like eating in "another country"....San Angel Inn is very nice and it really feels like you're there...that would be a good choice.

Have a great trip!

Magic Kingdom

We really enjoyed the breakfast at Crystal Palace. We also enjoyed the breakfast in the castle but I know how hard it is to get priority seatings for it. We usually pick up a hamburger and some chicken strips at the restaurant in Fantasyland. I can't remember the name of it right now. It is the old fashioned building that is connect to IASW.

Epcot

My husband and I just love Epcot. It is our favorite park.

The only character meal we do is the Ice Cream Social at The Land. You get admission via a priority seating. It is usually around 3pm or so. Farmer Mickey, Pluto, and Chip & Dale are there. They serve you really big ice cream sundaes and it is very affordable. I think it is $6.99 (I corrected my original price per another websites menue) per person. We always ask for ice water instead of sodas to keep the cost down also. Another tip, ask to be seated in the upper level. This allows you to watch the characters interact with other families as well. You get a ton of time with the characters since this is a smaller event. I think each of the characters stopped by our table three or more times. It is a great event for a smaller cost.

Let's see, as for other food. We usually get a quick early lunch in the restaurant on the left just after you pass under Spaceship Earth. Again, I can't remember the name.

After the Ice Cream social, we tend to eat our way around the world showcase. We get Kaki Goris, School Bread from Norway, desserts from France, Turkey Legs from American Adventure, McDonalds french fries, a bucket of popcorn, the layered margarita from the stand outside of the Mexico (caution, don't drink these to fast), and then we usually try at least something new to eat also. We rarely do any big sit down restaurants during our trips. Although, I would love to try LeCelliar some time. mmm

Happy eating!

Another vote for CP at MK. Also, the Plaza Restaurant is very good. For counter service, we like Cosmic Ray's for the variety. Only pain is, you have to be in separate lines to order things (for instance, you can't order chicken and a burger at the same counter). I would also try for lunch or dinner in the castle, since you missed the breakfast window.

At Epcot, do try to work in the Ice Cream social at the Garden Grill! We were last there in September, and the cost was more like $7 per person. One of our favorites in all of WDW is Tangierine Cafe. We haven't made it to Marrakesh yet, because we love TC so much!! There ya go, TC for lunch, ICS for snack, then the Mexican place for your dinner! :-)

At MK, I always do CP for breakfast. I try to get a pre-open PS, that way we are done eating by the time the park opens and we can try really hard to lose our meal on Space Mountain! For counter service I like Columbia Harbor House.

Epcot, I always eat at the San Angel Inn, the sit-down place at Mexico. I love the atmosphere and I love Mexican food in general. I also try to have some type of food I've never tried before, so this trip we are going to have lunch at Marakesh (sp?) in Moroco, since I've never had that kind of food before. I'd try really hard to have all my meals in WS, as you can eat a counter service burger any where, at anytime. I do not recomend Coral Reef. The food was good but very over priced. And there is something just weird about eating a fish entre while your meal's cousin is swiming by in the fish tank next to your table...

Had a bad experience at Crystal Palace. DS ate something that had him :worship: the porcelain god 8 times in the 2 hours after dinner.

We too eat at Columbia Harbour House each visit. Quiet, never busy for some reason and good food.

At Epcot - LeCellier with out a doubt.
