Oops! Forgot to ask - does anyone have an answer to my relisting/But It Now question?

And also - what is the BEST way to package a dish for shipping so that it won't get broken?

I recently sold a four pack of dishes and this is what I did.. I happened to have the orginal box, sealed (never been opened), so I just put the original box, inside a slightly larger outside box, put some air pillows on the bottom and top.. and there it goes!

As for garage sales, in my area, the goodwill store, is even too much money! The two goodwill stores want $3.99 for a pair of shorts.., now I want to the clearance rack at Kmart and bout 6 NEW WTIH TAGS shorts in a great condition for $1/$2

As far as I know, you can add any optional features when you relist, you only get original listing fee back whatever you do if it sells. I know I've added gallery before if I relisted during a gallery sale, so I don't know why you couldn't add buy it now. HTH.

I did really well for my very first auction. I have my items packed and I went to print DC from the USPS site. When I got to the page where it says, Choose a service option for your package, do I choose Priority mail flat rate envelope, DC? I want to send the packages via Media Mail not Priority Mail. If I choose that do I just print it off, attach and at the PO tell them via Media Mail? Please help. Trying to ship today.

After someone sets up an ebay account, and use their checking and credit card for verification. How quickly can they put something up to sell?

No. Preprinting the label will have done you no good. Are you using the Shipping Assistant program? If so click Shipping label then on the left in about the middle you'll see Service Type click the down arrow and then click Media Mail and then below that put in the weight. Below that put in Delivery Confirmation and then your shipping date. When you go to your PO they either scan or type in the number from your label and charge you the media rate plus $.15 for the Delivery Confirmation. IF you were shipping Priority then the DC would be free thats why you must print the correct label.

I am from canada and was wondering about selling on ebay. I mostly like to bid on stuff that people accept paypal. I have been to the paypal website looking for an answer to my question(coming up shortly I promise) but I was wondering if I had it correct. Ok actually 2 questions. If I want to accept cc payments what fees will I pay? I never understood the answer I received from them. #2 I can have the money put into an account. Is this a paypal account or my bank here. They mention a debit card so I can withdrawl money how does this work. My ideal situation would be to sell my stuff in american funds have an american bank account/paypal account and be able to withdrawl american money with no exchange when I get to WDW. Any light on this situation would be greatly appreciated. I am grateful if you are still reading my novel. :)

Well that's the most confusing part for everyone.. So - don't feel stupid in the least..

The first thing I suggest is for you to print out all of their various postal charts (book rate, media, parcel post, priority, etc.) and put them in a binder so they'll be right next to your computer..

Next - what are you selling/mailing? If it's book rate (that's books and such with advertising in them) they go by weight and zone. Media (regular books, paperbacks, videos, cd's) go only by weight and NOT zone. All other options also go by weight AND zone.

Most people just pick a price somewhere in the middle - based only on the weight of the item.. You may lose some money or some - and gain some money on others..

Or - you can state that bidders need to contact you via email so you can give them the correct amount - based on their zip code..

If you mail strictly priority, you can determine the weight and then charge the fee for the FARTHEST zone away from you..

It's all a matter of preference.. I usually pick something in the middle..

Hope that helps!

Okay, so I got an email yesteray that my camera sold. I sent an email to the buyer and an invoice from Ebay. I have not heard a word from her!
I emailed her again today, and still no answer! Am I getting the runaround from her????? Is this normal not to hear for a couple of days??? What happens if she never pays or responds???

First of all - take a DEEP breath! It's going to be okay.. :) People don't always respond right away so I wouldn't panic just yet.. Also, on your My Ebay selling page, what does it say next to her name - "invoice sent" - or "payment status"? If it's payment status just click on that and you may see the she had indicated she is going to "pay by other" - which means send you a check or money order..

Also - this week LOADS of people took their week's vacation because of the 4th of July, so she may be out of town.. Give it a few days and then let us know what's happening - okay?

Sometimes folks NEVER answer my emails and suddenly a check just arrives in the mail!

A great way to occupy your mind in the meantime is........list MORE stuff! LOL

I didn't know about the payment status. That is good to know. I will have to check my buyer to see if shows that. I did finally hear from her and she is mailing a check.

I'm going off the edge for Ebay... and finding things to sell in the most amazing places..

I was at the library, and I just wandered down to the periodical department. I usually check out all the magazines, books in the take a few, donate a few pile... most of the magazines are really dated,.. for example Seventeen and YM from 1977, old Popular Mechanics from the 70's, etc... most of it has big discard stamps on it, making it very unsellable...

But today, the MOTHER LOAD came in...

There were 8 sporting magazines from 1953 (the earliest) to 1967 (I think). They are not library discards, but a patron dropped them off.

One of them has the stats for the World Series, it had Lou Gehrig in it! The other one, had a Chicago football star, in one of his earliest years, the one from Brians Song... (My DH knew of him but he was before my time.. Sayers, I think!)

Some had Fran Tarkenton, and some Super Bowl Previews......
Some of the spines aren't pristine, but some are... There was just some amazing stuff, mostly football, but some baseball, and Army Navy stuff...

ALL FOR FREE!!!!! YIPEEEE! Right now some of our auctions aren't doing great per se, but there are a lot of views, and so I am encouraged....

I'm still excited about the magazines....

I am still interested in selling on Ebay. After taking inventory of what we have I realize that our junk is... well junk. I don't notice similar items selling on ebay. Could you list items that sell well.

Disney geek... to me, there's really no rhyme or reason to what sells well and what doesn't.

I usually just collect stuff, or find stuff, or use stuff I don't use at home..

I've sold, my kids outgrown clothes or sporting equipement, books, CD's, movies, dishes, coupons, video game stuff, kids old toys, memoribillia... just mostly stuff around the house.

And it sells...

I have items I need to ship out tomorrow morning and I've decided I want to "try" the Shipping Assistant again.. However, the labels are HUGE and would literally wrap all the way around some of the packages and leave no room for the postage! I emailed the USPS and they said there is no way to make them smaller, so what do I do??????

Also, since my return address appears on the DC label, does that eliminate the need for me to place a separate return address label on the packages?

Thanks so much!!!

C.Ann

How big are they? Mine don't seem that big. They are smaller than the ones for Priority from the USPS website. If you print the whole label, yes, it eliminates the need for you to put your return address. I believe there is also an option for delivery confirm. barcode only. Have you tried that? I don't know how large that is since I've never tried it, but it might be an option for you if the labels are too big for your packages. HTH.

I never thought about selling coupons but I have lots of Enfamil and Good Start baby formula coupons/checks (I use Similac) that are for $2-$10 each. Would those sell? I guess I should do an eBay search on that.
