You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

Question,

I had a buyer e-mail me last week saying that they received their item and to please leave feedback and they will do the same. I always wait until they leave feedback before I do. They have not left any yet. They have a high feedback score, but something just doesn't sit right with this.

I don't want to start a debate on when to leave feedback. Rather, those of you that leave feedback after the buyer does, could you tell me what you would do in this situation?

TIA

I had a buyer ask me to do this recently. My reply was one to the effect of: "Once I am assured that you are satisfied with your purchase, by leaving feedback for me after you've receive the item, I will follow up with what I believe to be a positive FB for you as well.

I bought a box at maps at a yard sale and while going through them I found a picture from the National Geographic from 1936. It is a picture taken by Captain Albert Stevens.
It is a picture that shows the division between the troposhere and stratosphere and the curvature of the earth. It is in exc. condition but I can't figure out how to price it.
Any thoughts????

I would like to pay you out right for a this item 35.00 right now please. Thank you

Why would someone write an email ebay question to me as the seller, like this ? I only have one up for bid, and its in the middle of it's bidding, isn't this totally wrong?

How can should I politely respond?

I bet it is a test from ebay to see if I break the rules. I know they do that... but I would never do that, its plain WRONG!

yikes !

I've had this happen a lot. It's not Ebay I'm sure. Just ignore it or email back and say you can't do it. Last week someone asked me to change my auction and add a buy it now (I was out of town anyway which is why it didn't have a buy it now!).

I hate when people do that. You set your terms at the start of the auction, why would they think you will change it half way through.
Once someone emailed me to ask if I would sell the item to them at the buy it now price and that be the price with shipping included! These people don't realize that shipping is expensive and I would have lost money at that point if I had to pay for their shipping! It just seems strange to me that anyone would even ask for that because if that were the case it would have been listed as free shipping.
Anyway, I have either ignored those people, or have emailed back that it wouldn't be fair to the people already bidding.

I am just starting to sell... Can someone explain to me the balance difference between my EBAY and Paypal... is it the shipping amount not showing up on EBAY ??
Paypal balance is higher ??

And I have a premier acct, so does it cost me a fee to move the money from paypal to my bank ?? Is it instant ??

Thanks, getting confused here :(

I'm not real sure about the balance difference but with the PayPal Premier account, they don't charge a fee for moving the money to your bank, they charge a fee on every incoming money transaction you have, even if it isn't credit card funded. HTH

If you are reading your My Ebay page or the actual listing, the amount shown is the final bid amount - before shipping fees. On the PayPal overview or invoice, you would be seeing the final bid plus shipping - and since you have a premier account - less the fee.

Did that make sense?

It costs nothing, and it usually shows up in your bank account in 3-4 business days.

Thanks !

ok, I get my ebay amount, without s&h it is correct.

But on paypal, I am off by .60, any idea why?

I am adding the totals sent by buyers minus the fees (assuming they take the fee automatically) , why is there and extra .60 in there ???

Have you compared what they buyers were "suppose" to pay vs what they actually did? Some buyers will change the amounts (not sure why)

I just found this thread and wanted to participate.

We just returned from our trip to WDW...our park tickets were paid for 100% off ebay sales! I have already started saving and planning for next september's trip. We have (since 9/17) sold almost $200 on ebay and still have tons of stuff listed.

I have to say that between ebay, saving spare change, and using my Disney visa for everything and earning the rewars....I hope to have our entire trip paid for before we leave for the next trip!

When reading the PayPal overview there is a column on the right that details the fee imposed on each transaction. Does the difference appear in that column?

OK.......

what amount of days ??? I am so confused as to when to have it end ??

Can you guys give me ideas of times and says for ei. toys, barbies, kids clothes .... like what items on what days ???

yikes I am getting overwhelmed !

As with most things you have to do what works for you. I do 7 day auctions, because they give the most amount of exposure w/o the added cost of the 10 day. I generally run auctions from Sunday evening - Sunday evening. But again you have to do what works for you. Are you home on Sunday evening to send out invoices? Maybe Thursdays work better for you. Or Mornings.

disneychrista,

Yes Sundays are good for me too. Now how can I list them ahead of time so I do not have to do all that at once ? I think the schedule fee is .10, right? I really do not want to pay for a program yet. What are my options? I can copy paste from my puter I guess, have the details all done ahead of time ????

And what time of day on Sunday do you close at? I am in MA, here.

Any ideas ?

Thanks PG

Have you looked in to Turbo Lister? This is what I use. I have all of my auctions all ready to go. Pics, descriptions everything. Then I just click on the ones that I want to list that week, and then with the push of a botton I load them all at once. This way they are all listed at the same time and they all end at the same time. Turbo Lister also has the option of you picking the time and day you would like them to list it, it has the .10 cent charge or you can just do it your self. The listing myself is what I do. Ebay is gets enough of my money, I try not to give them more than they need. So you might want to look into that. I think that it is still free to download the program, so even if you don't like it you can just delet it from your hard-drive.

And 7 days is normally how long I let my auctions go as well.

peacefulgirl - I have a little trick I use to save my dimes. I list all my items through Ebay (no turbolister or any listing program). I prelist everything with a date in the future, then when I am ready for the auction to start, I "edit" my listing, change the date and save my dime. Sometimes, I don't get a chance to edit and the auctions run automatically, but most of the time, I try to get them up and running without spending extra.
