You have got to see this!

OMG! People will do just about anything for a buck! It's only up to $16.49 - that wouldn't even buy lunch for 5 at WDW!

Plus they will be stuck in who knows what kind of shirts!!! :rotfl:

There is NOTHING in the auction indicating the parents are unemployed. In fact, it says "things are looking up for us." While I question the wisdom of posting photos of one's children on the internet (DISers included), I do think this was meant to be a humorous auction.

Sounds to me like this dad just has too much time on his hands to come up with this crazy idea in the first place.
Give me a break!

Well no wonder they are unemployed....

Advertise in WDW during the time of year with the lowest attendance.....

Helllllloooooo

That has to be one of the most pathetic and embarassing things I have ever seen. It's like a train wreck, you really don't want to look but you can't help it.

I just can't imagine wanting to look back on pictures of your family vacation and seeing every member of the family, every day wearing the same shirts with some business name on them. I agree -Very sad. :sad1:

Well, I gotta give it to them and say it's creative. Weird, sad and a bit creepy, but creative..........

I really can't believe they have their kid's pictures on ebay, nor can I believe the "tone" of the listing, like they are selling their kids.

I love Disney, but I can't ever imagine wanting to go so bad that I'd come up with, let alone actually implement something like this. :earseek:

I wonder what this guy is going to do if the bid only hits $20 or something? Will he still put have his family go through with wearing the shirts the whole time?! --

Wow. What a compassionate lot. A death, a job loss, a move... and all they're doing is attempting to finance a little fun for their kids? C'mon be realistic. They're not selling their children!!! They're going to be wearing t-shirts. You all advertise for Hilfiger every time you wear TOMMY plastered across your chest and everyone thinks that's WONDERFUL because you paid $60 for a stupid t-shirt. He's getting paid to wear a stupid t-shirt. And, in the meantime, he's volunteering to take his niece with him so she can join in? Wow. Sounds pretty unselfish too. Mom and Dad are willing to scrimp and save to give their kids a great vacation. Yes, I concede the point, they must truly be awful parents. :confused3

I have issue with using their children and talking about their children's "worries". What worries? They're very young and should have absolutely no idea there are any worries, unless their parents make sure they know. It's pathetic. If they really want to give their children some fun times, there are plenty of ways to have fun for free or very inexpensively without selling the family. It's always a very bad idea to post your children's pictures anywhere online (yes here too). Recently on DIS I read a post from a mom about her child's picture being posted on a website elsewhere that was not exactly somewhere you would want your child's picture. so she removed her pictures. It's not just pornographic pictures of children that get passed around by pedophiles from what I've read. Beyond that, this is just another example of "I have to have what I want when I want it because I want it." They are not entitled to anything just because they want it. Do what most people do and find a way to save the money. And, if they are unemployed or even have been unemployed they'd be better off figuring out how to build savings and retirement than selling themselves on E-Bay. Even if it's a joke, it's pretty sick.

Why doesn't the parents just stand on the street corner and panhandle. They would probably make more $$$ faster. What a joke. What people will do. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It sounds as if the dad has an odd sense of humor, not a bad thing, but poor judgement. Wonder if mom knows about this auction?

I would never post pictures of my grands on this forum or any other public forum. I might send a picture to a friend but not in a public way. I worry when I see some of the pics as signatures on the posts.

I am afraid that a lot of people take vacations etc when they should be working harder to get out of debt or whatever.

I have a brother who calls me daily to tell me that he is desperate need of money. He calls me from his cell phone, sometimes to tell me of the really good deal he just got on some prime rib, or while watching his son skate at an expensive skate park, or after just enjoying a fancy meal at a restaurant. I have a TracPhone, shop for good deals on sirloin and eat at McD's which is why I have money.

Slightly Goofy (who could not enjoy a vacation if she was going to have to pay for it for the following year)

I belong to an attachment parenting board and several of the mamas there use cloth diapers. Several of them found their children's photos on a site for adults deviants with fetishes after a tipoff. Think *very* before you post a pic of your kids in anything less than full dress. The cute tub picture or a pic of a baby in a cute diaper seems cute to you... But to others, well... I'd agree with the above poster, though the pics on the Ebay auction do seem very harmless.

Its one thing to wear t-shirts, we wear our buisness shirts all the time(at home and on vacations everywhere), but to hand out things/promotional info is totally out of place!! If I was handed something by an outside vendor-- (not a CM) I would complain!!! I go there to escape the outside world!!!-- that's part of the magic to DH and I.

Am I the only one who thinks this 'down-on-our-luck' story is more than likely a total scam? This guy is a con artist, and anyone who gives him $ to go to disney world is a willing victim.

We went to Beaches and Cream last week. Someone there for a convention pushed his business card on us, and his sales pitch. It was tacky.

As for this family, I hope this auction doesn't end up detrimental for those kids.

The auction has been removed from Ebay. I'm assuming there was a good reason for it, Can someone tell me what this family was attempting to auction off?

I logged in at about 8:10am EDT and read this posted listing.

By 8:17am EDT is had been "removed by eBay".

They were auctioning off themselves as advertising while vacation in WDW.
