OK so I'm a Noob. I am bringing my family down there the first week of December, and I have no idea what this candle thing is. Could someone please let me know.

Everyone is jumping for joy over getting reservations for it. But, do you need MVMCCP tickets to be apart of it ? Which park is it at ? Anything ................................ LOLOLOL

It's at Epcot at the American Gardens Theatre. You can either buy the dinner package or get in a standby line for free. Dinner package guests are seated first and any seats left can be taken by standby. In any case, you have to have Epcot admission.

Come on now.........No need to even leave the DIS! Lots of fantastic info on this site! You just have to get out of the forums to look for it at times ;)

CP is a wonderful holiday event that is held in Epcot. They have a narrator read the Christmas story while a choir stands behind the narrator and sings various holiday songs. It is very very touching. They have a celeb (of one form or another) perform the narration. The choir is usually part WDW choir plus local area high schools.

You do NOT have to pay to see this event. However, if you choose to participate in the CP package...........it will include reserved seating (closer to the front, under covering I believe, and dinner at the restaurant you choose.)

Enjoy and WELCOME to the DIS!

Nikole- I followed the link you showed- am I reading that right? It says it starts on Nov 29th and then lists not showing on the 1st, and the 5pm show on the 2nd. Okay so that means the dinner pkg WILL be going on the 29th and 30th, right? (we won't be there late enough on the 2nd or after that)

And if that is the case- then I'm confused on how on another thread about the candlelight dinner pkg they are saying they already got reservations for Dec later in the month. Doesn't it also have a 90 day out thing? So I have to wait a few more days to try to get the dinner pkg for this for Nov 29th... right? Please let me know!

CP is not on the 90 day reservation so call now if you want. Just call the dining number. If you first CM does not know, call again....

Usually there is one night early in December that is not availalble. I think they have CM's there.

Okie dokie... I'll try for the 29th of Nov since it says it starts on the 29th and then says not on Dec 1st. :)

But which restaurant? I see a big list of different "tiers" (whatever that means? I assume more in price on each one is the only difference?) but I don't even know what the Candlelight processional really is or where it is- do some restaurants give you a better view or what? Thanks for your help!

Oh, you're right... I am looking at 2002 but that's the only thing I see about it on that page that Nikole linked to! :( I'll try the other link... thanks for making me aware of that.

Bibb;

You just have to check it out on the below link. Different restaurants are different tiers. Like the hotels are different levels Moderate, luxury, etc. I have never been, but I am so excited about it, if you can do it, I would give it a try.

Thanks- the other link DOES give a lot more info. For instance I didn't realize we'd be paying $12 more per adult than the restaurant costs without the "dinner pkg". I'll have to think about whether I want to pay more per person (times 5 people- 2 adults and 3 children) just to save some time waiting in line for this.

Does that mean those restaurants cost that much on those nights regardless? Or can you still go eat there at their regular prices (like Biergarten for instance) without the dinner pkg? Can I still make a PS for that restaurant any night without the dinner pkg?

Don't forget that with the CP package your beverage, tax, and gratuity are included so it really isn't more expensive, though it might seem so at first.

I thought bevrages were NOT included or is it different this year?

Yes, including the beverage is new this year.:D Maybe they hoped it would take the sting out of raising the package price by 2.00 over last year.

I just booked my package for December 13. It will be my first Candlelight Processional (and my first night of my trip!!!) and I am so excited! We chose San Angel Inn. From what I hear, the package is inclusive and just does not include tax, which is fine with me. It will be $74.53 for two adults.
Also, the latest I could book dinner for the 8:15 show was 5:45.
In addition, the CM told me the celebrity readers have not been announced yet, but he believes Gary Sinise and Edward James Olmos are reading, whoever they are.

angey - the final amount they give you over the phone does include tax. The initial amount (ie. adult 41.99 and child 10.99) does not - but - they add it all up for you and give you the total when they tell you how much they are charging your card. You won't owe anything that night when you show up (although some people leave an extra tip if service was really good).

hulagirl - I was so excited I didn't even do the math! I will end up leaving more for a tip, that's just how I am. Thanks for the insight. I do believe they don't actually charge the card until 48 hours prior, am I correct?
