"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Hi! I'm FINALLY all caught up on your TR. I've been reading sporadically over the past couple days and I didn't take notes (LOL), so I figured I'd just comment on the most recent update. But first, I have my fingers crossed that the Once Upon a Time ads will still be up in July so I can geek out. I will be the crazy lunatic trying to convince everyone on the bus to watch. :rotfl:

Anyway, my sister is afraid of butterflies too. She freaks out whenever they're around. Your fear of bugs, but love for It's Tough to Be A Bug isn't weird at all! I'm the same way with the Tiki Room. Birds terrify me, but the Tiki Room has always been one of my favorites. :thumbsup2

There best have been a few chorus line kicks! One cannot dance properly to "Be Our Guest" without them. The last, big "course by course, one by one" part of the song was practically made for a kick line. ;)

SO remember when I told you all about my fear of scary things? Well, I’ve got another ‘fear confession’ to make… I’m also afraid of bugs.

I mean all of them. Bugs, insects, and basically anything that can fly near me/crawl on me/make a buzzing/chirping sound around me. You name it, I’m scared of it. Yes, EVEN ladybugs (my first college dorm room was INFESTED with them) and BUTTERFLIES.So you may find it surprising that we were headed here.

SDC11207.jpg

I have a tub full of insect books and plastic bugs that my students love! One of these days, when I get the right opportunity, I am going to set them out in a display in the hallway and entitle it 'It's Tough to be a Bug'. I have a feeling a lot of other kids in the school will enjoy it, as well. (The only drawback to putting it in the hall is that sometimes things disappear when I do that, and I have a feeling plastic bugs would be pretty enticing for some little fingers.)

“If you like vegetables, fresh fruit, and flowers, give thanks to us bugs for our marvelous powers. If it weren’t for the fact that we like the taste, you’d be out there wallowing in shoulder high waste. SHOULDER HIGH WASTE!”

I totally sang along with this. :goodvibes

Hooray for mingos!!! :cool1:

The Beauty and the Beast stage show was going on and I had another one of my 'no shame' moments where I marched down the street to the beat of 'Be Our Guest' while waving my arms around. There were probably a few chorus line kicks too, but I can't be certain. Happy! :yay:

This is perfectly acceptable in WDW. :thumbsup2

Popping in! Haha. I’ve been lurking and finally decided to actually join in! :cool1:

I accidentally kept a pair of the bug glasses. :rolleyes1 I took them off as I was leaving the theater and forgot they were in my hand. I walked right past the bins where you’re supposed to put them. And no one stopped me! So now they are in my room. Oops! :lmao:

I LOVE ITTBAB, and I am terrified of bugs! The best part of the show was when we visited the attraction for the first time, and to see my husband JUMP out of the SEAT when the "bugs" were dismissed from the auditorium--PRICELESS!

It's Tough to be a Bug! Oh man. You don't have to sit forward or put your feet up?! I DO! When I went with my friend back in 2008, we went into that show and I immediately put my feet up on the back of the seat in front of me and scooted forward. She looked at me funny, but once the show was over, she realized exactly why I did that! :rotfl:

HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD! I just looooove RnR and Tower of Terror!

So cute that you were dancing down the street to Be Our Guest :)

Surprisingly, no! I don't even know why. I'm weird! I just think it's fun! HAHAHAH that's so funny. She probably thought you were crazy and then she was like... yeah okay and time to do the same thing hah!

Me too! They're awesome. Hahaha well ya know, gotta live it up at Disney! :dance3:

yay rockin roller coaster! I followed you on twitter even though I rarely go on there! I prefer facebook actually!

Yay! Yes I saw, and followed you back! Thanks! Haha I used to be the same way but now I'm not even on facbeook.

Ahhh I can't do It's Tough To Be A Bug!!! The bugs and the stingers and the acid freak me out! :scared1:

I love all of the holiday decorations in DHS! It always looks so fun!

Aw! Hahha I don't know what it is but I can handle it! If this were all happening in real life, I'd probably keel over on the spot.

Hollywood really does have some fun Christmas decorations! Disney and their theming, I tell ya!

I have only seen It's Tough To Be A Bug once. Somehow we always seem to forget that it is there. :confused3

Noooo don't forget about Flik and friends! Hahha I love them.

I love It's Tough to be a Bug!

And RNRC is my favorite ride at DHS....with TSM a close second! But what's not to love about RNRC?!? A fun coaster that even goes upside down PLUS music by a great rock band....PERFECTION! :goodvibes

Hooray! Finally someone else likes it hahah!

RNRC is amazing, that's for sure! I agree, it's awesome! And I love how it actually feels like you're outside. Those Disney Imagineers... :worship:

So now I'm up to page 24!:)

:yay::yay::yay:BLT!!!:yay::yay::yay:
That's number one on my list of resorts that I would love to stay at!!! We would have chosen it as our home resort when we bought into the DVC, but we got a really good deal on Animal Kingdom Villas which was my second choice. We'll definitely be using our points for BLT at some point.

I completely understand the tearfulness!! I even get teary at the commercials! I don't feel so bad since my DH (who rarely cries) gets teary-eyed at all things Disney, too:lovestruc He's as Disney-crazy as I am:cool1:

Festival of the Lion King is one of my favorites! I recently learned that some of the Tumbler Monkeys were Olympic gymnasts!!

Yay! Look at you, movin right along! Good job!

Kidani Village is in my top 2 dream resorts! That's so awesome that it's your home resort! They both look so awesome. I'll definitely let you know how it is in my next TR! :goodvibes

I'm glad you understand. Aww that's awesome! I NEED to marry a Disney nut. It's just a necessary thing. You're lucky!

Mine too! Wow that's really cool! That definitely makes sense, they're AMAZING.

OMG sooo yup, as you already know, I followed you on twitter. Done and done.

Yay! :cool1:

I had no idea you guys were heading for ITTBAB but I WILL NOT GO ON THIS. I am like you and I do not like bugs and I've heard this is terrifying so I am very interested to see your reaction. (Like you, I read and will take notes during a TR, it makes it so I don't miss anything to comment on!)

That being said, love the photo of you guys in the glasses. The 3D glasses are pretty fabulous!

Hahah I love the glasses. They're amazing. I seriously want a pair.

Okay how do you even LIKE THIS show?! I am one of those people that has a hard time separating real from fake during like, movies and shows and haunted houses, so I am ridiculously terrified if it involves something I do not like in real life. As soon as I feel any sort of bug-like thing touching me I can guarantee I would be up and out of my seat, immediately at an exit, hahaha. I give you a lot of credit!

Like, I promise, I have no idea! I told you, I can't even explain myself! Because like I said, the yeti and the dinosaurs freak me out... and I promise, you can't even pay me to watch scary movies or go into haunted houses. PROMISE. But I don't know! I just think it's fun! Although I have a feeling I would have hated it with a passion when I was younger. This is just one of those things that I CAN separate from real life and make it fun. Like I said, I can't explain myself. I'm a weirdo. :confused3

Oh but if there is a spider in my house, as much as I hate them, I try to save it and put it outside. I feel guilty killing it.

Hahah umm... yeah I just kill it. Or should I say, recruit someone else to kill it. :littleangel: But if there's no one around to do it for me, I stand there watching it for about 30 minutes making sure it's not about to JUMP on me and kill ME. (AHHH REAL LIFE BUGS ARE TERRIFYING.)

I love that Christmas tree in AK! It's so pretty.

Agreed. It's fantastic and I want it at my house. Well, a smaller version!

YAY for HS! I do enjoy that park! Aaaaand you visited Aerosmith.. Didn't you get the memo that Selena is now a ROCK STAR?! I love that ride though, especially the beginning just because it's like.. BOOM and you're smiling the whole time. I wish it was a little bit longer but otherwise it's so much fun.

Hmm yeah, I guess she forgot to tell me. (Rude.) I LOVE THE RIDE TOO. It's splendid! You're right though, it is on the short side.

HAHA I am laughing so hard at your "Be Our Guest" dance. If I saw you I would've probably given you a high five, haha. Amazing.

Hahahah, I thank you (bow).

I feel like HS is so easy to get lost in! I had to ask someone to tell me where the Writer's Stop was because I just felt so confused!

It is! Besides the obvious Sunset/Hollywood Blvd/Pixar Place. The rest? Fuggetaboutit. I'm lost just thinking about it.

Um yeah ...... DD and I cannot do the bugs. Whether they are real or not, that attraction is scary for us. She cried the whole time and refuses to go back. and I don't wanna either.

Aww. :( I'm sorry! That's no fun. I don't know why, but I just think it's fun! If they WERE real bugs then you couldn't pay me to go!

I love the Bug show (which is what my little cousin used to call it)! And RnRC is so thrilling, even though I don't ride it every single time we go to DHS. I'm totally a ToT girl! I'm all for singing out loud and doing leg kicks as I walk the streets of Hollywood...you go, girl!

Aww, haha I love it too! Ahhh yes, Tower of Terror. I love that ride a lot, but last time I went on it, I blacked out! :( I want to ride it again though ahha. Thank you! Hahah it's just so fun to be crazy at Disney!

I' subbing to your TR (better later then never). You are subbed to a lot of the same TRs as I am.

Read your last update first and I must agree that I love that window at HS. It's so cute!

I'm a Steven Tyler fan too! There is something about him that is very likable!

Oh thank you! You're right, we are subbed to a lot of the same threads! Also, "How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?" was one of the first TRs I read when I was still a lurker! Do you have any current TRs/PTRs?

That window is TOO cute! Hahha I love Steven Tyler! He's definitely likable and seems genuinely nice.

I hate bugs too! I'm deathly afraid of bees...like, not "oh, I don't like bees"...I RUN from them, screaming like a crazy person. It's awful. And I don't like butterflies either! Far away, sure, but when they are coming near me, same thing with bees, I run screaming. I tried to go in the butterfly tent at Epcot 2 years ago on my Disneymoon, and I peeked my head in, because Brandon was already in there, and a butterfly flew RIGHT at my head. I screamed and ran through, ducking the whole way. Everyone stopped and stared. As I was running out, I heard Brandon tell everyone "she's the only person afraid of butterflies". Embarrassing. :rotfl2:

Hahahahha oh Jen, I understand! That's too funny. OMG I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like butterflies! I thought I was just weird for that! Phew! Hahaha that's hilarious! I honestly did the exact same thing at the TN Aquarium. No shame. Brandon, she's not the only one. :rotfl:

So I've never done It's Tough to Be a Bug. I know they're all fake but I'm too afraid. It sounds cute, though!

Yeah, you should probably steer clear of it! I mean, you and I are the same in our fear of bugs for sure, but for some reason I'm immune to it for ITTBAB. I can't explain it. It is SUPER cute, but there are definitely some scary moments!

Yay, DHS! I love that window display with the Mickey ornaments too, they're so cute! :) And RNRC...I feel like no matter what the posted wait time is, you're in for a long wait! I do like looking at the ToT from the line, though! I was never a huge Aerosmith fan until I went on this ride...now I have most of their CD's on my Ipod and whenever I listen to them, I think of Disney!

Isn't it adorable? I love that they kick their legs. Yeah, I guess you're right! The other times I've done it have been right at rope drop when everyone's at TSM (I send the non-riders off for the TSM FPs, hahah) so we just walked right on. But from now on if I'm not there at rope drop, I'm getting a fastpass! Aww I know! I love Aerosmith and their songs definitely remind me of Disney now too!

Oh, and I'd follow you on twitter, but I'm not on there! :confused3 I just feel like I'm not interesting enough! :rotfl:

Aw! But you are! For real. Listen, I don't think I'm interesting either, I promise. Twitter's just for fun!

Bug's Life is one of my favorite movies EVER. It's so underrated. But I was obsessed with it as a child.

Oh my God the posters in the Rock N Roller Coaster queue are SO outdated. They're like Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Disney Mania 5, etc. I mean, it's better than something like Shake it Up, I suppose. New Disney Channel shows make me cringe :headache:

It's SO underrated. I don't even understand. That's so cute!

Hahaha yeah, the Queen one makes sense (and I love Rascal Flatts so I like that one too) but I mean... Disney channel stars are just not on the same level as Aerosmith, end of story. Haha ugh me too. I want old school Disney Channel back like, pronto. Also, I must say that may have been your most subdued comment ever! I had to double-check the name of the poster! :rotfl:

It's Tough To Be A Bug is growing on me. Apparently I was wrong and we WILL be going to Animal Kingdom for a little bit on this next trip so I'll be trying to get Shannon to go on it and Dinosaur.

While ya'll were on Rock N' Rollercoaster, I got to chill with the foreign tour group that decided they all needed to stop and take a smoke break. not cool. gotta love those tour groups, haha.

And you have me to thank for that. :thumbsup2 OH GOOD! I was gonna say, that would be so lame!

Omg, really? I had no idea! That's just... gross. :scared:

Kadence wants me to tell you that she HATES, absolutely HATES bugs and anything to do with bugs and that also includes It's Tough to be a Bug!

She cried and screamed though the whole thing, crawled up on dads lap and would nave climbed into his pocket if she could have.

Aww, that's sad! I think I would have hated it as a child too. Don't worry Kadence, real life bugs terrify me too!

I on the other hand loved it!

Too funny!

RnR was fun, but since I don;t have a riding buddy, it may be awhile before I get back on.

Hey, At least you weren't doing the backwards peace sign!

Aww that stinks. Yeah, those rides just aren't as fun when you're with a random stranger! Hahah for real! Who's to say if I was doing 'rock on' OR 'I love you', really? I could have been making some secret option number 3 sign with my hands or something hahaha.

:rotfl:

YAY! Hahah that is fine with me. OMG, me too. I really hope you can do that. I'm sure everyone will be dying to watch it based on your recommendation. And I want them to be up for selfish reasons as well... I can't get enough of that guy! What a beautiful man.

:thumbsup2

Okay I'm so glad there are other people in the world who are afraid of butterflies! I thought I was a psycho. Hahah that's awesome! I'm glad you understand. AND I still need to go see the Tiki Room. I'm ashamed that I haven't!

There best have been a few chorus line kicks! One cannot dance properly to "Be Our Guest" without them. The last, big "course by course, one by one" part of the song was practically made for a kick line.

Oh there definitely were! You're absolutely right. This is making me have a flash back to seventh grade chorus class when we sang 'Be Our Guest' and DID KICKS. I was so into it. The girl next to me wasn't pleased with our choreography. I guess she embarrassed easily?

I'm glad you're caught up now!

I have a tub full of insect books and plastic bugs that my students love! That's such a cute idea! I love that you put the Disney touches into your school stuff! Haha if I was a kid in your class however, I would be the one in the corner far far away from the fake bugs hahahah.

I totally sang along with this. :goodvibes

Hahah I'm glad!

Hooray for mingos!!! :cool1:

If we had to see any animals, they were good ones to see!

This is perfectly acceptable in WDW. :thumbsup2

I agree! If you can't act like a crazy person in Disney, you can't do it anywhere!

Popping in!

Oops! :lmao:

Yay! Glad to have you here! Posters are WAY more fun thank lurkers!

Omg are you serious? That's TOO funny! Hahah well at least you didn't do it on purpose! I would love to keep a pair accidentally! :rotfl:

Thank you for posting! I really appreciate it!

I LOVE ITTBAB, and I am terrified of bugs! The best part of the show was when we visited the attraction for the first time, and to see my husband JUMP out of the SEAT when the "bugs" were dismissed from the auditorium--PRICELESS!

YAY! I'm not the only one! I'm glad because I was honestly finding it very difficult to explain it to people hahahah. Oh my gosh that's hilarious! I hope he has recovered from that experience haha!

haha, I never even thought about how Steven Tyler is doubly represented at DHS now! Which is weird because whenever I watch American Idol and see Steven Tyler I always think of RNRC...:rolleyes1 Have they changed the judges at AIE to match the new personalities of the real judges?

What's your twitter name? I don't think we're twitter friends. I'm on there but don't use it too much. Feel free to add me though (my name is in my signature!). :)

I always thought it was kind of weird how they mix real rock stars with Disney Channel stars, too. I thought maybe it was done by an Imagineer with an interesting sense of humor. :rotfl:

I hate bugs and butterflies, too, but I love It's Tough to Be a Bug. The ladybugs at Lee were the worst! I was once bitten on the neck by a ladybug in Livingston Hall. Never trust a ladybug! :scared1:

Hahah I do the same thing! Um, that's a good point! I have no idea if they changed the judges at the 'experience', because I haven't seen it since before he and JLo became judges. That would be cool though!

My twitter name is the same as it is on here, mardgreen88! Fun, I'll definitely add you in a minute! :goodvibes

It's definitely odd. HAHAH maybe you're right! They're playing mind games with us, I think.

OH MY GOSH YES. What the heck is up with all the lady bugs at Lee? I lived in Nora Chambers on the top floor and had to sleep in the top bunk. So I always would try to kill the ladybugs with air freshener because I was too scared to do anything else. I'm awful but they are scary and I did not want to be sleeping with them on the ceiling and my head like INCHES from them! I can't believe you got bit by one! :scared1:

Subscribing to your TR. It is hilarious!!! You are a great writer, and I'm really enjoying living vicariously at WDW through your TR!:thumbsup2

That's ok, I'm afraid of fish and birds! I get picked on soooo much for it!! Wow 3 parks already! That's touring! :thumbsup2 I love Rockin Rollar Coaster too! It is so much fun!! Oh and I have a twitter too! I'll go follow you right now! Mine is the same name too!

Oh thank you! You're right, we are subbed to a lot of the same threads! Also, "How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?" was one of the first TRs I read when I was still a lurker! Do you have any current TRs/PTRs?

Haha - Yes I do, as a matter of fact AND it includes one of your favorite words.... Why Not Just QUEUEUp Another Disney Trip? :rotfl:
I, too, find the word to be a little bit of overkill, but sometimes I do feel like I line up all my upcoming trips in a mental queue.

I was actually at the world around the same time as you. We arrived around the 14th and left on the 20th. But my TR also includes some pretrip reporting because I had the opportunity to go to Williamsburg last year AND Disney's HHI resort. I had to write about HHI because it was so cool.

Anyway - love your TR. I finished the first day and you have a great writing style. It's very entertaining. Your first day was so busy. WOW. All that on 3 hours of sleep. :worship:

Looking forward to catching up.

Oh twitter. I got an account right when it "went public" and then never used it since no one else was on and I couldn't figure it out! HOW DO I TWITTER (if I can't keep up with facebook, is twitter too much???). WHO DO I FOLLOW. I have a tumblr! And a words with friends account!! DOES THAT COUNT AM I COOL

I hatehatehate It's Tough to Be a Bug. Spiders would get into the shower I used as a kid, I refuse to be that close to another bug ever again. They can exist, just far far far away from me (or behind glass, that's okay. BUT NO BEING SLIMY).

Aw, that window is adorable!! Tinseltown is decorated with tinsel!! Awesome. Good use of puns, MGM!

Yay for Rock'n'Roller Coaster (however you spell it)! Even though I've only been on it once (heh). I do (not-so-)secretly love Selena Gomez (my boyfriend was ~scandalized~ when he heard she was dating Justin Beiber. You can do better!!). She was supposed to play Miranda's little sister in a Lizzie Maguire spin-off, and ANYONE related to Miranda is cool (also she was in the Muppets, so awesome by association).

love your trip report so far! cant wait for more updates! and i just have to say that i as well am deathly afraid of lady bugs. my spanish class room in high school was infested with them and i sat by the window where they would fly in and stay right there! i would find them on my shoes and my backpack and UGH! so just wanted to share, i know people think im a freak for being scared of them but come on!

Subscribing to your TR. It is hilarious!!! You are a great writer, and I'm really enjoying living vicariously at WDW through your TR!:thumbsup2

Oh my gosh, that's so nice! Thank you so much for the compliments! I'm glad you're enjoying it so much, thank you for commenting! I hope you continue to enjoy!

Hahaha I'm not gonna lie, fish freak me out too! Ahhh. Yeah girl we were goin strong that day! Rock'n'Roller Coaster is seriously awesome, isn't it? AND THANKS for the twitter follow, as you know I followed you back! Love it! :woohoo:

Haha - Yes I do, as a matter of fact AND it includes one of your favorite words.... Why Not Just QUEUEUp Another Disney Trip? :rotfl:
I, too, find the word to be a little bit of overkill, but sometimes I do feel like I line up all my upcoming trips in a mental queue.

Hahah that's too funny! Yes it's my favorite word ever. :rotfl: I like it for a TR title though, it makes so much sense. I'm gonna need to join in and try to catch up!

I was actually at the world around the same time as you. We arrived around the 14th and left on the 20th. But my TR also includes some pretrip reporting because I had the opportunity to go to Williamsburg last year AND Disney's HHI resort. I had to write about HHI because it was so cool.

We were there at the same time then! That's awesome, I wonder if we were ever in the same place at the same time. I guess we'll find out! That's cool that you got to go to Hilton Head and Williamsburg! I live about an hour away from Williamsburg. :goodvibes

Anyway - love your TR. I finished the first day and you have a great writing style. It's very entertaining. Your first day was so busy. WOW. All that on 3 hours of sleep. :worship:

Looking forward to catching up.

Thank you! That's so nice! I really appreciate it. Hahah yes our first day was pretty packed! Just wait til you get to the second day... :rotfl:

Um you follow ME. Because obviously I'm very interesting... obviously. Seriously though, there are a lot of Disers on there and it's fun! That's primarily what it consists of for me. I have a tumblr too but I don't post on it, I don't really get it. I just got it to follow the Simple Disney Things blog. :rotfl:

I hatehatehate It's Tough to Be a Bug. Spiders would get into the shower I used as a kid, I refuse to be that close to another bug ever again. They can exist, just far far far away from me (or behind glass, that's okay. BUT NO BEING SLIMY).

Um what? Why were there spiders in your shower? That's terrifying. AHHH. I promise the bugs in It's Tough to Be a Bug are very much fake!

Aw, that window is adorable!! Tinseltown is decorated with tinsel!! Awesome. Good use of puns, MGM!

I agree, I thought that was perfect! I've said it a million plus times, I'll say it a million plus times more: DISNEY DETAILS ARE PERFECT.

Of all those 'Disney teen queens' from a few years back, Selena Gomez was always my favorite. Although you're right, she can do way better than the Beibs. COME ON SELENA. HE LOOKS LIKE A GIRL. Let's be real about this. BUT I never knew that she was supposed to be Miranda's sister! I had definitely heard about that spin-off though! That's funny. Even though Miranda VANISHED from Lizzie McGuire so suddenly (I mean how long can you really stay in Mexico with your grandparents) and didn't even appear in the movie but we won't talk about that. (Bitter.) And yes it's funny that Selena had the Muppet cameo. ANYWAYS, all this to say, I do like her to a certain extent, but I don't consider her a rock star.

love your trip report so far! cant wait for more updates! and i just have to say that i as well am deathly afraid of lady bugs. my spanish class room in high school was infested with them and i sat by the window where they would fly in and stay right there! i would find them on my shoes and my backpack and UGH! so just wanted to share, i know people think im a freak for being scared of them but come on!

THANKS! I'm glad! Oh my gosh are you serious? UGH that's so scary. I do NOT blame you for being afraid of them! When they were in my dorm room, they were always on the ceiling and I had to sleep on the top bunk so I was always scared they would like, bite me in my sleep AHHH scary times. :rotfl: Anyways thank you for commenting! I honestly appreciate it so much, I hope you continue to enjoy! :goodvibes

The One With Seatbelt Problems and Lots and Lots of Lights!

December 15, 2011

Remember when I told you we got lost heading to our next destination? That was no lie. In all honesty, I tend to get completely lost in Hollywood Studios (besides in the obvious areas like Pixar Place, Sunset Boulevard, you know). That back area around Streets of America just confuses the heck out of me! I don’t get lost in any of the other parks, just Hollywood Studios.

In case you were wondering what we were looking for, it was PIZZA PLANET. None of us had ever been there before, which partially explains why we couldn’t find it. :rotfl:

I WAS SO EXCITED TO GO TO PIZZA PLANET. Toy Story came out when I was in kindergarten, and I think I saw it three times when it was in theaters. It’s always been one of my favorites. And I KID YOU NOT, I said multiple times that I thought they should make a Pizza Planet at Disney World! What can I say, I was a genius child. So imagine my DELIGHT when I found out that there was, in fact, a Pizza Planet at Disney World!

On our quest to find Pizza Planet, we passed by the Osborne Lights right when they were turning them on, and all of a sudden we heard a big “GASP.” We couldn't see them from where we were, but it was so funny to hear that!

It was around 6:00-6:30 at that point, and I hadn’t eaten anything since our 8:05 meal at Crystal Palace that morning! WOOOWEEE! Basically, I was hungry.

We FINALLY found Pizza Planet, and because of our hungriness, Amanda and I forgot that we had been planning to do the welcome to pizza planet bit for our video. (You know what I'm talking about, right? When Buzz and Woody are trying to get into Pizza Planet and the robot guys say, "YOU ARE CLEAR TO ENTER. WELCOME TO PIZZA PLANET." Hahha I love it.) It didn’t really matter though, because the video was already a bust at that point.

The Pizza Planet at Hollywood Studios is not nearly as cool as the one in Toy Story. It was still AWESOME just being at a place called Pizza Planet though. I’m sure my kindergarten self would have thought it was the coolest place ever!

I don’t know how I did it, but I ordered the completely wrong thing! I meant to order a cheese pizza and a drink. That’s it. Somehow I ended up with a vegetable pizza and a salad. Whaaa? I have no idea. But despite the fact that I hadn’t eaten since breakfast, I still wasn’t hungry enough for the salad. I took a few bites, but I couldn’t eat it all. I felt bad wasting it, but what are you gonna do? The pizza was really good though!

We went upstairs to eat. I had wanted someone to take a picture of me with “THE CLAAAAAAAAW” aliens, but we were all too busy eating to remember to take pictures of anything. Therefore I also don’t have a picture of my food. SORRY! I know, this Pizza Planet story is not very entertaining! :rotfl: I did take a picture of the aliens before we left though!

Our next stop was a very important one: OSBORNE FAMILY SPECTACLE OF DANCING LIGHTS! If any of you have ever seen them in person, (and I know a lot of you have), you know that they are not NEARLY as cool looking in pictures. Even if you had the best camera in the world, the pictures still wouldn’t do justice to this display. It’s hard to explain how amazing it is, to be honest.

Where I live we have this thing called the Tacky Light Tour, so I’m used to seeing houses COVERED in Christmas lights. But I’m not used to seeing entire blocks covered in lights and dancing to music. Yes, that’s right: THEY DANCE TO THE MUSIC. :dance3: It’s just incredible!

One really cool thing that I hadn't seen the year before was this light canopy! If you stood under if while the music was playing the lights would dance and change colors over your head. Again, pictures don’t do it justice but it was amazing!

(That picture is sideways on purpose. I don’t know why I took it like that. I’m weird.)

We got a nice man to take our picture while the lights were dancing!

Oops! The lights turned off at the exact moment he took the picture. He was nice enough to take another one without us even knowing the lights had turned off! He was such a nice man.

After thoroughly enjoying the Osborne Lights, (RIP Jennings Osborne :sad1: ), and losing Ryan for a while, and then finding Ryan again, we decided to head to a galaxy far, far away.

BACKSTORY SIDENOTE: Throughout my life I was always a little bit interested in Star Wars, but I had never seen any of the movies. When me and Amanda were planning our trip in September, she was saying how she couldn’t wait to ride the new Star Tours. I told her I would definitely ride it too, but I didn’t really know anything about Star Wars and had always kinda wanted to see the movies. So she was like, UM HI, I have ALL of the Star Wars movies! And we watched them all, one at a time, from mid-September until the weekend right before our trip. I am probably the newest Star Wars fan (even if I didn't exactly understand what was going on the entire time :rolleyes1). So basically Amanda and I were really excited to ride!

OKAY. So you’re probably wondering about the title of this chapter, right? Maybe? (It’s okay, you can go back and look if you need to. :thumbsup2)

The wait for Star Tours was listed as 15 minutes, but we definitely didn't even wait that long. We walked straight through until we were at the loading platform!

We watched the little movie and then the doors opened and in we went! The first thing I noticed when we walked in was that one of the seats was completely covered up and nobody could sit there. We didn't know why, but we were guessing maybe it just broke. Who knows? Unfortunately, the seat that was covered ended up being right between Amanda and I, so she was a little bit separated from the rest of the group.

Anyways, the CM came up and was giving us all our instructions and telling us to buckle up. Meanwhile, I pulled my seatbelt out and started to buckle it, but I COULDN'T FIND THE BUCKLE! I looked around and everyone was all calm, and had all of their seat belts securely fastened, and I'm sitting there just desperately sticking my seatbelt anywhere the buckle might be. It was ridiculous. Want to know WHY I couldn't find my dang seat belt? The thing that was covering the chair was BLOCKING IT. I just couldn't find it!

I started to panic a little. I mean it's not like I wanted to die on Star Tours because I couldn't buckle up properly, ya know? So what did I do? I raised my hand. Yeah, like I was in class answering a question. I could tell the CM was a little confused, like what's this chick doing raising her hand? This is a ride. So here's what happened:

Me: *raising my hand* "Um... excuse me..."
CM guy: "Uh... yeah?"
Me: "I can't find my buckle."
CM guy: "Really?"
Two girls behind me: "It's right there!" (OH thank you, girls behind me.)
Me: "The seat cover is blocking it. I seriously can't see it."

So the CM guy came up to me to help and there's a really good chance that he actually had to take my buckle out of my hand and ACTUALLY BUCKLE IT FOR ME. Oh my goodness gracious! So I'm sitting there like a kid in a car seat being buckled in and I think all the members of my group were pretending they didn't know me. The whole time I was saying "Sorry yall. This is a little awkward. Har har har." I was trying to make light of the situation and not get embarrassed, and I think the CM could tell. WHY?

Because after everyone was securely fastened into their seats (INCLUDING ME!) and the ride started, whose face do you think showed up on the screen?

Yep. Mine. I WAS THE REBEL SPY. :rotfl2:

If you could have SEEN that picture of me. OH MY GOSH. I think it was taken like right when I was raising my hand. I had THE funniest look on my face. I so wish I could have taken a picture or something. EVERYONE on the ride burst out laughing.

I was cracking up! I don't get embarrassed too easily, to be honest, and I just thought it was funny! And the ride itself was SO MUCH FUN! If you haven't ridden it before, YOU MUST. Even if you're not really a Star Wars fan! It's so much fun. I was smiling the entire time! EVEN THOUGH I ended up getting captured and killed, probably. Darn us rebel spies! We'll never learn!

And thus concludes the story of how Marissa got made fun of by a Cast Member (in a funny way).

THE END.

Continued in Next Update

I love the description of the GASP in the distance as the lights turned on . I can't imagine the spike in Disney's electric bills in December!

Too funny about your seatbelt on Star Tours! That totally sounds like something I'd do, raised hand and all! :rotfl:

Of COURSE You'd be the rebel spy! That's pretty funny. :lmao:
But... he didn't really make fun of you... he never actually said you were an unobservant nut ball. :)

ok that settles it - the cm's definitely must choose the person that is the rebel spy! lol.

so you went to pizza planet too - Zachary was very excited for eating there, being the big fan he is, but I think the kids were disappointed in the end! maybe pizza planet should be much cooler than it is??

PIZZA PLANET! OMG I haven't been there since I was like 14. Another trip is definitely in order. The pizza isn't even very good but... I don't care, it's Disney pizza. I'm sure my fellow NY/NJ natives would think I'm crazy for saying that but I still love it! LOL

Omg... The Osborne Lights. I completely underestimated how amazing this was truly going to be. Really though. I want to go back this Christmas so bad! Since I'm trying to plan a fall trip, I doubt we'll be able to do both. But you never know... a girl can dream.

There are almost no pics of us from our trip either LOL. I think probably like... 10. I just am usually too enthralled in Disney to stop and pose. Like, we don't even have a shot in front of the castle together from this trip! :headache: The pics we do have are good, though, but next trip I am definitely making sure we stop and pose more.

You totally should not have been embarrassed about the seat belt incident, that was totally Disney's fault! I'm really surprised at that. But yay for being The Rebel Spy!! How fun. I too love that ride even though I'm not into Star Wars.
