You Flew All The Way Here With PIXIE DUST?! UD 8/22: Final Thoughts :)

Tell Tricia she is awesome for reading the Twilight saga :thumbsup2

Hey, I'm the awesome mom who took her to see the movie on opening day... and also the awesome mom who stood in line with her at midnight waiting for the DVD to be released!!

And now, to read your latest post...

Kathy

By now, it was 2:00, and we had intended on spending the whole afternoon and evening in WS, then spend a half-day later in the week for FW.

Did we stick to these plans?

'Course not!

Sometimes, plans are just made to be broken!!

I guess I could've waited for the Meg vs Aly clarification... she's wearing her great big Birthday Button :cake: at Epcot!!

:rotfl:

I didn't see the movie (my friends went without me when I was still on bedrest) nor have I rented it (heard terrible reviews). But yay, awesome mom!

Now, the big question for Tricia: Edward or Jacob?

Yep! :teeth:

Ahh yes, something I forgot to mention in that post, 8/15 was Aly's birthday!

Not having read the book myself, I can't properly review the movie... but I did find it enjoyable. I must say that it was fun to hear all the little girls in the theater squeal when Edward or Jacob came on-screen!! :lmao:

Edward or Jacob? Tricia says, "I'm Switzerland!!"

Updates to come this weekend whenever possible. I have a Chemistry paper to write, and dance pics on Sunday, as well as an ice cream social/vigil for my...friend who...passed on.

Day 2: Magic Kingdom--Part One (Mountains, Pirates, and Ghosts, oh my!)

August 16, 2008

We woke up to Stitch screaming "No sleeeeeeeeping! Get up!"

You don't have to tell me twice, Stitch. This is MAGIC KINGDOM DAY! We turned the TV on to Stacy's Top 7 Must-Sees and settled in with breakfast (we'd brought mini-muffins, cereal, and Pop-Tarts for breakfast, to eat in the room. Much cheaper, and saves more time) We were on our way, out the door by 8:15, for the 9:00 rope drop! :yay: :yay: :yay:

We got a bus rather fast, and sped off to the glorious MK. It wasn't long before the Welcome Show started:

And, before we knew it, we were taking those first steps under the Train Station and saw this:

We went immediately to the Adventureland gate, and as soon as the CM let us through, took off towards...

SPLASH MOUNTAIN!

While we didn't make first log of the day, they were still running empty logs by the time we got OFF!

Ride pic (a bit blurry, but we're in the back):

We grabbed FastPasses to come back to SM, and went over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which was a WALK-ON! :woohoo:

(Though we did get stuck on the second lift hill...that one in the cave...with the bats!)

We continued on our merry little way towards the Haunted Mansion. One of my favorites! This was also a walk on :yay: What luck! The new special effects were wonderful, and had you not been on the ride before, you would've never known.

We backtracked through Frontierland, and settled into Adventureland. Noticing that Magic Carpets of Aladdin had a 5-minute wait, we said "what the heck?" and hopped onto a flying carpet for a ride over Agrabah. (Sadly, the spitting camels weren't spitting. Tsk, tsk.)

Next was Pirates of the Caribbean. I HATED this ride as a kid (it made me cry!), and I'm still not a fan. Nonetheless, we went on. Nice new effects, and we saw this guy:

Now, I'm sure you're all wondering, "what's the story behind the title of this TR?"

Well, walking around the gift shop for POTC, mom comes over and says, "Peter Pan and Wendy are outside taking pictures!" Mmmkay, so we go over.

Oh my goodness, what a cutie. Peter Pan was fiiiiiiiiiiine. ;)

Here is the conversation we had with Peter and Wendy:

Peter: So where are you all from?
Me: RI.
Peter: Is that far from here?
Me: Sorta.
Peter: Sorta? Well, did you walk?
Me: No!
Peter: Did you fly?
Me (getting into it): Yes!
Peter: You flew ALL THE WAY HERE?
Me: Yeah!
Peter: Did you use PIXIE DUST?!
Me: Yeah!
Peter: Great! Did you save some for the way home?
Me: Yeah!
Peter: Wendy! They flew all the way here with PIXIE DUST!
Wendy: Not so loud now, Peter! The pirates might hear! Although...they don't have many happy thoughts...except walking the plank, and that's not very happy.
Peter: Oh no, Wendy!

Here's the hottie Peter himself:
