I have bought many items on Ebay but haven't sold anything. I listed an item for sale 4 days ago (7 day auction). It started out at $80. Two nights ago before I went to bed, it was up to $115. Last night before I went to bed it was DOWN to $80! I received an email saying some bids had been retracted and the reason was becasue the lady bid too high. She was the high bidder at $115 and her top amount was $150. I was ticked when I went to bed. I feel better this morning because it is up to $111 right now.
I never knew you could retract your bid. I would understand if she put an extra zero in there and her bid was 1500. If she retracted it and then rebid using $150 I would understand. She has not rebid on the item. On top of that, the person that was the high bidder when I went to bed last night was the high bidder on an identical item in another auction. When she was outbid in my auction, she moved on but since the bids were retracted, she was once again the high bidder. She isn't anymore but I am sure she wouldn't have been happy winning two identical auctions.
Does this happen often on Ebay?
