I have always checked my rental car prices whenever we go on trips. I usually do about once a week just to see if rate has gone down, etc.
About 1 month ago I booked through Costco for January (one day rental from MCO to FLL for cruise). I found an intermediate SUV through ALAMO for $44.xx which I was happy with, National with my husband's employee code was $65.xx for SUV (we need the extra space for luggage and I want to make sure we have the SUV with 4 adults a 4 large suitcases plus carryon).
I've watch occasionally over the weeks and seen rate go up and up. Today I just looked and was shocked that the price for the same SUV for the same dates, times is now $182.xx
I've tried some of the other codes people post here and haven't been able to beat that price with Costco.
Just saying it never hurts to book, cancel and rebook and to keep on checking.
