You Are Not The First To Pass This Way: 2nd Magic Baltic Cruise, 6/24/2010

Just got our cruise documents:cheer2: and it is a Great book of important things and very well done :surfweb:Disney does it the best:wizard:we finally got our room # 6624:woohoo:Can't wait to start the cruise:dance3:and meet everone:grouphug:

Very exciting!! You are just down the hall from us..

Just checking.. are you still in for the FE. I have you down but no details of other family members. Just let me know. Time to start stalking our maillady til our docs come... :cool1:

OK, I am working on our FE gifts and would like to personalize them with last names. If you would like yours personalized would you mind sending your last names through PM? If not that is fine, They don't have to be personalized.. just thought it would be more fun. Thanks.. We are leaving in less than one month!!:banana:

I also haven't seen it mentioned but Rick Steves has alot of FREE pod casts on itunes.. you can download to your computer and watch. :O) I just put Rick Steves in the search box and comes up with lots to choose from..

Just PM'd you.

Thanks for the Rick Steves tip. Sounds good!:thumbsup2

OK, so I don't have a creative bone in my body, and I admit that freely. The FE we ordered on eBay arrived last night. It's perfect! The kids don't really know what to make of it (in true teen and almost teen fashion) and DH is a little nonplussed, but I think it's super.

We fly to England 5 weeks from today!!

This will be our 9th Disney cruise:woohoo: and we love FE:cool1: can't wait to meet onboard :dance3:Gene & Cheryl Fallaw

We are still debating what to do in Germany. We have already booked SPB Tours for St. P and considering them for Berlin vs. Disney Tour.

Has anyone else booked SPB Tours for Berlin? I'm so stuck on this part. Kids are 16, 14, 9, 7 and 7 and well traveled but thinking that Berlin would be too much in a day for the 7 year olds.

The little kids would be fine staying the day in Oceaneers Lab but then I would opt for a DCL excursion vs. SPB and it looks as though the DCL excursions don't cover nearly as much in Berlin.

Sometimes I think to skip the Berlin part entirely and find a beach for the day in Warmunde.

Would love to hear what others are planning, especially those who are bringing little ones :)

Has anyone else booked SPB for Berlin?

Hi....I am booked with SPB in Berlin.....we are a party of 7 (3 adults, 4 kids...age 9,5,5, and 2)....my husband has opted to stay in port or on ship with the 5,5 and 2 year olds for Berlin but my friend and 9 year old our doing Berlin with SPB.....vika has gotten a group of 7 together....our 3 and a couple with 2 children....would love for you to join.....I can't subject my 2 and 5 year olds to the long drive both ways.....they would be miserable...

I am very perplexed on weather for our Baltic trip.....when I read guide books it shows avg temps in high 60's-low 70's which is very cool to me......but I have watched some Rick Steves shows...everyone in tanks and shorts......I was thinking for sightseeing we would be wearing pants and shirts.....help...our cruise is June 24th departure. help

Regarding the weather, I'm betting it is upper 60's to mid 70s. It's just that the folks in the Northern regions are so used to really cold weather, they think mild temps are warm. Hence the shorts/tanks.

Bring layers. You can never know what the weather is going to be like. I know in port I plan to wear tee shirts with short sleeves (not tanks), always long pants, and carry a jacket and rain gear (both of which should fit in a backpack)

A friend of mine just got back from London and she said there are lots of great apps for travel.......I searched on itunes and there are over 600....have no time to search through all of these....but we are traveling in London, and then the baltic cruise....so Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Berlin, Tallin, St. pete, .....let me know if you know of some good ones.....

I agree hard on the 5, 5, 2 year olds. Two long port days in a row is enough for my 7 year olds and they will have much more fun onboard than onshore.

I think we are going to join the SPB Berlin group just unsure which of us will be going and who will stay onboard :)

Did you book SPB for St. Petersburg? We are still undecided which of the tour options is best with the kids (we booked a private tour). Really our big interests are St. Catherine's and The Peter. Fountains, etc.

Me, dh, dd16, and dd14 will be doing the night time fun tour through SPB also.

Doing the rest of the ports on our own.

I have 2 room updates.. don't worry I will give a master list at the end. This is just incase you need room numbers for whatever reason.

Grizzbuzz.. now in 6113
newgeneb .. now in 6624

After talking to a few folks through PM, I think I will assign date ranges for delivery, keep it flexible so we will have beginning, middle or end. Each will have a sea day in case the touring keeps us too busy.

beginning 6-24 to 6-27 (sea day being 6-25),
middle 6-28 to 7-1 (sea day being 6-29) and
end 7-2 to 7-5 ( they get 2 sea days 7-4 & 7-5)

with these date ranges everyone will have an included sea day(s), and we will be able to spread things out throughout the 12 days. You can deliver any day in the range.. not just the sea day.

If you have a preference for which range you would like just let me know... (some things would be better given at the beginning and some at the end)
If I don't hear from you, I will just fill in with openings.
I will have this list available at the meet ...

3:00 Promenade Lounge June 24.

Any ideas or questions please feel free to share.

We are spb tours in Berlin for a 2 day tour....we are bringing all kids except the 2 year old....and we did private.....I felt that way if the kids are melting I am not bothering other people....which for us is 1/2 the stress. The Disney excursions were just to much for our group of 6.....private was the way to go....

The main reason my husband isn't going to berlin is because that excursion is to far from the ship we felt one of us had to stay close to kids....just in case bus was delayed or something strange....otherwise he would have gone too. Hope to see you on our tour.....let me know when you book with Vika ....mmaragon@prodigy.net...

We got our docs and our rooms! Not connecting, but they are at least near each other. The 3rd child who will be sleeping in my inlaw's room will just have to go up and down the hall. Now to decide which child I want to offload.

our family room - 6108
my inlaws room - 6098

I tried to PM you with our last name, but it won't let me because I haven't posted enough. I don't know if you could PM me and I could answer back? I guess it is safe to post our last name if that doesn't work! Thanks for planning all of this! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Check your PM box and see if that works.. if not you just need to post another 7 times..

Definitely send a revised list. I am missing names/room numbers for sure. Do you have a head count of the total number of people in our FE?

As Ktspider mentioned there are several Rick Steves podcasts

Good currency apps: "currency converter" or "icurrency plus"
Subway guides: "Metro" - is the best, you can load in all the cities with just this one app
City specific apps: Berlin City, Fahr info, tube info, itrans tube
"WorldWiki" is pretty good - has all the national anthems; "PhotoMap" is also an interesting travel app

Thanks! Just realized that we're the only ones who didn't mention our DDs' names. DD 14 is Samantha and DD 12 is Charlotte.

So excited!! Got our cruise docs in todays mail.:banana::banana:
This makes it totally real.

I've been reading all the latest posts and impressed by everyones orgainzation. So much to get done in the next month.

A question, if you are arriving the day of the cruise, what time does your flight get in? We arrive day of into LHR at 6 :40 AM. What time will Disney Transportation be there? Do you think it will be a long wait for them?
