Okay, let me give you the background on us. I am currently attempting to plan a trip to DW in Oct. We are waiting to see if some friends can go with us. They will know in a day or two. Meanwhile, I am trying to figure out restaurants since the ADR opened a couple of months ago. This way once they decide I will be ready to call immediately to make reserevations

THis is what I need: We are going to be spending 7 nights. My family consists of Me 31 semi picky, but can find something to eat just about anywhere, DH 33-not picky at all, DS 6 Semi picky, but will eat any meat if you can dip it in something. and DS4 VERY picky, but we do not cater to him. He will eat bread if nothing else. Then Our Friends are not picky and have a 16 year old daughter who is not really picky either.

Okay so I need to top 7 places to eat. we would like to try a few character meals and a few different types of food. We all love Italian! So HELP PLEASE> I have never been to DW and have no idea. I have read a lot of good reviews about Liberty Tree Tavern and Ohana. Would those be recommendations? Okay, so start sending those recommendations!

We prefer character breakfasts to lunch/dinner. Crystal Palace has a nice breakfast buffet with the pooh characters. That's our favorite but Chef Mickey's (with Mickey and friends) also gets high marks from others.

I'm from NJ and we have lots of great italian places where I live. Most of the italian food at WDW reminds me more of an Olive Garden (not that OG is awful - it's not - but it is also not the mecca of homemade italian food). Thus, have your expectations set accordingly. We're trying Mama Melrose for the first time this trip - people seem to love it or hate it on here.

Our favorite spot is California Grill - on top of the Contemporary. It has a nice view of the MK and you can view wishes, either from your table or from the observation deck. Narcoosees is also good for fire work viewing and has good food. Both are 2 TS credits on the DDP.

You can go on allears.net to view menus. Most places have children's menus (I think VA and Bistro are the only 2 that don't) and the menus have food that my 3 year olds will eat - so I think you should be fine - things like mac n' cheese, pasta, grilled chicken.

Hello. My family sounds a bit like you, only in reverse..my DH is semi picky. We loved Liberty Tree. It is very much comfort food. With the different things that they have everyone will like someting on their platter. I would also try Crystal Palace. We went for breakfast and it was wonderful. My friends did dinner there are raved about it as well. It is buffet so everyone will find something. My all time favorite meal there was NOT Le Cellier (highly overrated in my opinion) it was Whispering Canyon Cafe. If you guys like BBQ then it is a great place.

:) For Italian, I would try Tutto Italia at Epcot. We love it but it can be expensive if you are not on the DP. For character meal, the Crystal Palace in the MK serves a nice buffet (breakfast/dinner, not sure about lunch). Yes, Ohana's is also a great place and we also like the dinner at Liberty Tree. For a quick lunch or dinner, the Seasons in the Land offers many varieties and is considered counter service (for those on the DP). One of our favorites is also Teppan Edo at the Japanese Pavillion in Epcot. Other favorites are the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club and Cape May Cafe (buffet) for breakfast or dinner at the Beach Club.

I am sure you will get more suggestions so have fun deciding!

We like LTT and Chef Mickey's for character meals. We like Mama Milrose's at DHS, and will be trying TuttoItalia for the first time on our upcoming trip (I've read a lot of good things about it).

I've heard pretty good things about the TS place in Morocco at Epcot, and also that it's not too hard to get into (comparatively speaking).

Crystal Palace was fantastic, we went for lunch at 11.30 and it was really well organised in terms of character interaction, not crowded at that time and the food was really suprising in quality and freshness. Chef Mickey was ok, not as good as CP but character interaction was good. Kona Cafe at the Poly was great, we only had a lunch there but all the meals were great. Our kids 7 and 10 really enjoyed these 3 the most.

Oh, nearly forgot, whispering canyon was also good but it is very loud and quite rowdy so depends if you are in the mood at the time. but the skillet was really tasty and once again the kids enjoyed it.

We love Crystal Palace for breakfast with Pooh and friends at the Magic Kingdom (they also have lunch and dinner but we have never done that). We've doe Chef Mickey's for breakfast and dinner but we think the quality has gone down the last couple of times we've been there. Cape May Cafe has a character breakfast with Minnie, Goofy and Chip and Dale in beach attire. We've never been, but we are trying it this year--we hear the food is very good. We like Mama Melrose at the Studios. No, it is not gourmet...but we think it a step above Oliver Garden (we've dined there three times now and will do so again in September...we've always had good food and good service). Whispering Canyyon is supposed to be a hoot--we are trying that for the first time this year. We did Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch (no characters at lunch however) and really enjoyed the meal. We also love LeCellier and Biergarten in World Showcase at Epcot.
