YOLO Part Cruise: Land, Sea and Halloween! Updatedx2 4/27 TRIP VIDEO

thanks for the cruise info. i know i would enjoy it. i just don't know if i'm ready to sacrifice my WDW time. boy that water was clear. was it warm or cold? the best way to deal with fish is to eat them. broiled and with some lemon and hot sauce. a full belly sounds like a good cure for seasickness to me. i'll catalog that for future reference. those vittles looked like some mighty good eating. were they as good as they looked? and we all know ice cream is good for the soul. i sure hope your brother rebounded for the remainder of the cruise. thanks for another good update. now i gotta go make some do re mi to feed my disney addiction.

The water was so clear. In the morning it was chilly but once you got in it was very nice. I do not like fish in the water or on my plate. The food was good the ice cream was even better.

Castaway Cay looks beautiful! I love all the pictures you took.

Poor Kiss, seasickness is the worst : (

It was so nice! It's beautiful there.

Great updates of Castaway Cay.

Love all the pics.

We just got back from a mini 4 day on the Magic in an inside stateroom. Very reasonable if you get Alicia's discount! But what a difference they are compared to the Dream. No virtual porthole, no alarm clock, and we had an 11A so no split bath.

Also everything is miniature in size on the ship - the dining rooms, the theatres, the hallways, the promenade deck. JQ rode the AquaDunk - I didn't have the nerve.

hey but we saw Frozen in 3D in the Walt Theatre. Great movie.

oh and the water at CC was FREEZING last week. But we went in anyway and loved it. Minnie and Pluto came by and played in the sand with the kids. It was really great.

Still love the Dream more!! Something really special about that ship.

Keep the updates coming. It's great to relive the cruise with the YOLO's!

We have been talking about using Alicia's discount since we got home. We are dying to get back on the ship. Oh no I think the Dream was such a nice size boat. I still probably wouldn't mind going on the Magic since I would still be on a Disney Cruise.
FROZEN!!! I loved that movie, I have been listening to the soundtrack nonstop!
I feel that you need to go into the water at Castaway no matter how cold. Even if its just sticking your feet in. That is so sweet, a a cute memory you have now.

Oh God, I would be freaking out about the fish too!!! I don't want those things anywhere near me, thanks.

Too bad about KC feeling so bad :( I hope he started feeling better as the trip went on and was able to enjoy more. Good to know about eating a lot while on a cruise to help prevent seasickness. I could definitely get on board with that plan. :thumbsup2:lmao:

They were just so friendly. One thing I learned was make a lot of movement, that way they swim away!
He was only down for one day...which I guess is better than being sick for the rest of the cruise. We told ourselves it was ok to eat a lot just because we didn't want to get seasick.

I keep LOLing when I read this. I wish you guys could be here for Andy's surprise christmas trip!!! Book some flights!!!!!!!!!!!

STOP!!! I looked into airfare for that weekend and it was like $500, that week after was real cheap though...

I Think I Might Have Found Me My Own Kind Of Paradise
Since we were at the beach we decided to be beach bums and try to catch some Bahaman rays. I like to try to be a fathers daughter and sit in the sun& I personally dont understand how Pa does it though because I was seriously melting.

Alicia was being poor Beth March dying on the beach

Jackson seemed to enjoy himself

The heat was affecting both Brittany and me so we decided to fight the hear and cool off in the water. The best way to do so was talking in our chairs that way we could still catch some rays (this may or may not have been such the greatest idea)

We took a little rest in the water and when we opened our eyes there were literally fish EVERYWHERE around us. I was scarred for my life. But then of course a guy noticed and said they wouldnt hurt us (we heard that a lot from various people). The fish though LOVED to migrate under our chairs.

While we were enjoying the water, Johnny Quest and Pa had a nice conversation

Back in the water Brittany and myself had some deep best friend conversations&. I actually couldnt even tell you what we talked about. But then Ma and Pa joined us and we talked about their previous cruising experiences.

Brittany then decided to plank the ocean&if that is even possible

Alicia and Andy soon joined us and the fish were getting to them as well.
Some where in our talks we started to play a game where we leaned back in our chairs and tried to balance. Luckily none of us fell backwards&that would have sucked.

We were invited to Poison Ivy and Johnny Quests cabana, so we got out of the water and headed over. Before we left the beach Ma and Aunt Lisa stopped at the little bar and purchased themselves Castaway Cays specialty drink, the konk cooler.

After the guy made them there was a little leftover in the blender, so Aunt Lisa asked if she could have that as well if he was just going to throw it out. So they got an extra half a cup for free. I was thinking about getting one afterwards, so Ma gave me the free one and it was not good at all. I was just not a fan. Ma told the guy that now that Andy, Brittany and me just turned 21 that we would be back for a drink :rotfl:

It was a party at the Cabana.
Poison Ivy and Johnny Quest were so kind, Ma said that she was honored that they invited us. Once we arrived they told us to help our selves with refreshments or to use their floats for the ocean. But if you know me at all I always deny the request&. Ask Brittany she always offers me some of her food and I deny her every single time.

We chatted about our trip so far, Brittany planking and what Brittany should plank on the ship, being cautious of people online, do the detective thing around the ship and shower at the spa on the ship.

We left soon after and Ma and Pa headed back to the ship while us YOLO Family grabbed some drinks.

Pina Colada for Brittany

Alicia and Andy got some sort of smoothies in their coconut cups

I got a strawberry daiquiri

Tropical drinks for a tropical paradise.
We headed back to our seats in the water and discussed how perfect life was at that very moment. Most people seemed to have gone back on the ship so there was very little people in the water.

After we finished our drinks we decided to head back to the boat. But before we did we had to get some laughter or castaway cay sand for our key chains.

Around 3 we grabbed all our stuff and headed back to the tram stop. We stopped at the gift shop where both Brittany and me purchased a towel.
I got a hoodied captain mickey towel (the only reason I got it was because it was on sale&.and I love my Minnie hoodied towel and I needed a mickey one!)

Brittany got a towel that said Castaway Cay on it& unfortunately I do not have a photo of it.

While we were purchasing our towels we lost Alicia and Andy.
We walked around in search of them

We found them and headed to the tram, on our way some people stopped Brittany and asked her about her Golden Mickeys that were stored in her lanyard. Brittany spread some pixie dust and gave them some.

We hopped on a tram and back to the boat we went. Before you get back onto the ship they have a hand sanitizer station you have to use before you get back on.
Then you go up the ramp to the boat where there are CMs waiting at podiums, you scan your card to make sure no one isnt left on the island, you go through a metal detector while your bag gets scanned. It was quick and easy!

We then entered the party elevator&so many people squished onto that small elevator. There was a little boy who looked up at his mom and said Mom I just farted EVERYONE LAUGHED!

Once arriving back to the room we were welcomed with some more gifts in our FE, one being little bottles of rum for each of us and another being homemade mickey soaps for each of us!

We grabbed a change of clothes and headed down to the Spa to try out there locker room / shower area.

Finally all caught up! I am loving this cruise addition to your trip reports! I hope you didn't get too burnt from pulling your chair into the water! That sun comes up fast when you are in the water :) I also hope you brother starts to feel better soon.

i hope you folks used sun screen while you were at Castaway Cay. since you have an aversion to fish i would guess that Finding Nemo ain't one of your favorite movies nor is it a must do ride at WDW. hooray for the planking princess. planking the ocean. ya gotta love it. them "dranks" look refreshing. though i'm partial to Captain Morgan Rum and co'cola. yes i am a pirate, 200 years too late. the cannons don't thunder there's nothing to plunder, i'm an over 40 victim of fate.pardon my
Jimmy Buffett impersonation. looks like ya'll had a nice day at the beach. one of the first things a father teaches his son, "always son, always fart in an elevator."

Thank you! Yeah I should know by now how I should wear sunscreen while in the sun all day, especially if I am planning on just sitting in the water.

There was a lack of sunscreen use while on castaway...
Oh I love finding nemo, he is cute...but real life fish compared to animated fish are just not cute.
Always fart in an elevator and then confess out loud for all too hear.

Field Trip To The Spa & Our 5K Around The Dream
Before we headed to the spa Alicia took out her braided hair and modeled off her beach waved hair

oh how cute&.

Just kidding! Dont let them fool you&.this is what their relationship actually looks like :rotfl:

We headed to the spa and the one thing Poison Ivy told us was to act confident when we got there because when you first walk in there are CMs there waiting to sign you in for treatments. We were told to walk in and go threw the door right on our left.
It may have sounded simple but Im socially awkward so those CMs could probably read from the look on my face that something was up, lets be real.

We made it passed without anyone questioning us, we passed the workout room and found the locker room on our left. It was quite fancy, one side had bathroom stalls, then as you walked in there were lockers and a seating area. Then on the backside of the bathroom was 4 showers.

They supplied the towels, shoes

Hairdryers

as well as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

While we waited Danielle came out from one of the changing rooms. Her face when she saw us was priceless. She asked why we were there&she actually used the spa so she had a legit reason for being there. We just came to use the showers&.casual

I was a big fan of the hair care products!
The spa also had face care products that were very nice

Selfie nation

Once we were done we Brittany and I went to the rents room to get some of Pas body butter. We had to much fun in the sun and it was starting to show. One thing the sun god aka Pa has taught me is the importance of lotioning up so you dont peal.
So we bathed in his cocoa butter.

Danielle was then knocking on their door. She told the rents how she saw us randomly at the spa, then she told us about her spa experience. The last thing we talked about before leaving was the Golden Mickeys. Danielle also got a case of the seasickness the night before and missed the Golden Mickeys. She didnt know that she could have watched them on the tv while she was dying in bed.
Brittany and I went back to the room and we all got ready for Dinner.
I was having an outfit problem&I couldnt zip up my dress. My first thought was that I had eaten too much in the passed few days. Brittany tried helping me, Alicia tried, Andy tried, it was literally a game to see who could get me zipped up.
On the good note it was note a fat problem, the zipper just always gets stuck but we finally got it and it fit totally fine.

At 5 Ma came knocking on our door.
She told us that Kiss was still not feeling well and that he was not going to dinner that night. She also said that she wanted to hand out our FE gifts before we went down to dinner.

Our FE plan was to get the front half rooms of the ship done. So we went through the list of cabin numbers and we sorted through all our gifts to find each cabins. Ma was handing out her gifts, Alicia and Andy handed out Gmas rooms gift since Kiss was sick, and Brittany and I handled our rooms gifts.

Our room handed out a Celebration button I made to everyone

And for the kids we gave them a trick or treating bag and a tube of glow sticks

Ma and Pa gave out dream catchers that Pa made

Gmas room gave out disney reusable tote bags and a photo album.

We started our FE handout at 5:15 just enough time to make it to dinner by 5:45.
READY OR NOT HERE WE COME!

My favorite thing about giving out the FE gifts is seeing everyones FE extenders as well as their decorated doors. There were also some peoples FE extenders that were literally bursting with gifts, that we had to leave their gifts on the floor near their door.

During our last 2 doors Alicia may have mixed up the gifts&but it all worked out fine and we were able to figure out the mistake. But then we still had one more of our buttons in our hands&..turns out it was one on the other side of the ship. We thought we could make it before dinner, we started walking down the hall. It never ended, just twist and turns and it was getting closer and closer to dinner time. We took a little jog both way and we decided to call that our Castaway 5K.

We ended up not being late to dinner and we were actually the first of our party to arrive.
This was the night that we started to document our washing hands segment of the video.

Enchanted Gardens was Beautiful!

The booths were the cutest thing, but being a big group I knew we wouldnt be seated in one of them. Instead we were seated in a corner where there was literally no one, it was kind of sad.

We were greeted by Holly and Stephanie, Stephanie told us about the restaurant and how during our meal it would transform to nighttime in the garden. We were given the menu and it was time to chow down

Enchanted Gardens & Characters Galore

Shirley Temples and Cherry Cokes had become our drink of choices and the amount of cherries we got with each glass became a game to see who got the most.

First we got our apps, I got a wedged salad

Alicia got some cucumber roll, it wasnt what she was expecting but she ate it anyways.

Being out in the sun all day soon got to us.

Andy had raccoon eyes from wearing his sun glasses all day. Brittany and I were like the crispy fried lizard at ToT back in March, although Brittany seemed to get it a little worse than me.
Next up was our entrees&which we slacked off and took like no food photos this night.

Pascal and some of the wait staff came over to our table with a special dessert and just married cruise line addition pins for Danielle and Adam and sang them a nice little song.

Last but not least time for some dessert!

Andy wasnt feeling any of the choices so he asked Stephanie if they had mickey bars. Ask and you shall receive!

While we were eating our dessert we looked over our navigator to plan out the rest of our night. There were a few characters meet and greeting after dinner, one of them being Tiana, so of course we had to add that to our list of things to do.

After we finished our desserts, Stephanie gave her daily speech about what show is tonight, what places are open for both breakfast and lunch tomorrow morning, and where we will be eating tomorrow night for pirate night.
We said our goodbyes and then headed out to the atrium to find Tiana.

It was literally a party in the atrium, there were characters EVERYWHERE!
We walked threw the crowds and Tiana was no where to be found. Then out of no where came Peter Pan and it made my night a little better

After Peter we walked around some more and found Aladdin. We didnt stop because he had quite the line and then we found Tiana. Belle was running over which was the reason why Tiana didnt come out on time. We hopped in line and listened to the live music.

There was 2 precious little girls in front of us, one of them turned around and showed us her new Mickey outfit. They were so cute.

The it was time for the moment I have been waiting for. You might think that since Tiana is one of my favorites that I would have already met her at Disney World, wrong.

I told her she was my favorite princess and she said she was glad that she was someones favorite.

She was beautiful and perfect and Im glad we took the time to meet her.
The Walt Disney Theater doors were almost opening for seating for tonight performance of Villains Tonight.

Disney Villains In A Way You've Never Seen Them
Doors opened and in we went. We ended up getting the same seats as the night before and it was a perfect location.

Since the doors open about 30 minutes before the show we had to find a way to entertain ourselves

A guy in front of us turned around and saw me typing away on my phone, he said something along the lines me having really good service in the middle of the ocean. I told him I was creating trip notes for this upcoming trip report on the Disboards&.it went right over his head.

At one point Alicia got a hold of Brittanys phone and this was the outcome

Soon it was show time!

Villains Tonight! tells the tale of Hades as he attempts to hold onto the title of "Lord of the Underworld." After The Fates warn him that he may lose his position as supreme ruler because the Underworld is too happy a place, Hades decides to gather the most powerful Disney villains in an effort to make his underground kingdom a bit more wicked. Accompanied by the likes Pain and Panic from Hercules, in addition to some of your favorite Disney scoundrels, Hades sets off on a fun-filled quest brimming with lively musical numbers and wacky antics.

Over all my favorite part of this show was Yzma (who happened to be very good friends with Sally the night before) and Kronk. They were seriously the perfect people to play them and they were just soooo funny.
Overall the show made me laugh and it was a neat take on the disney villains through a comedy show but out of the 3 shows we watched I would say it was my least favorite. However it was Alicias favorite, so I guess it all depends on the person.

After the show we gave everything to Ma so she could take it back to the room and we could go straight to the showing of Toy Story of Terror. NO CAMERAS OR PHONES WERE ALLOWED if you had one you would be sent back to our room. We reached the theater and went through security, it was packed and we found seats in the very back.

Before they showed the short they did a presentation on upcoming ABC shows and previews for them. Then they talked about the Toy Story trilogy and how it started. Then they talked about the different technologies they had from the first toy story and how it changed to the 3rd one. One women who worked on toy story had a slide show showing the slight differences of Woody from the first movie to Toy Story of Terror. After we watched a clip of the very first clip of Toy Story, Woody was a creepy big headed marionette doll who was mean to a tiny buzz lightyear whose name was lunar larry.

Then it was time for some Toy Story of Terror, which I loved.
Now every time I see it all I can think of is how our Cruise Director Darren would say it and it makes me sad.

As we left the theater we were each given a baseball cap for the new marvels show. We ended up getting back to our room at 11 where some DVC gifts were awaiting.

Castaway Cay watches

We got dressed in more comfier clothing and I wanted to cry from the sunburn.
We then headed down to the D lounge to check out Bill Farmers comedy show.
On our way there we passed Ma, Pa, Danielle and adam who said that the lounge was packed and that they were just going to go to bed.

We decided to check it out anyways because it was the man who voices goofy how could you not go? They were right it was packed and we found an empty area in the back. Alicia and Andy found a nice comfy porthole while Brittany and myself moved some furniture around and made a seat.

As we waited for the show to start Alicia was talking about ordering room service and getting chicken wings while Brittany was falling asleep

I cant remember the name of the lady who opened up for Bill but she was funny. She had a slideshow of inappropriate disney photos of her children some of them being one of her sons eating Pinocchios nose, Goofy eating her other sons head and her son hugging Mickey at an inappropriate level.

Up next was Bill Farmer himself

He talked in his Goofy voice and all the other impressions he could do. We didnt stay very long into it because we were all falling asleep. Once we got back to the room there was a FE gift waiting for us, it was some candy, an ornament and magnets. Alicia and Andy went to get some pizza while Brittany and myself called it a night.

We fell asleep a little after midnight when we heard a knock on the door. Kiss was up and said he was feeling so much better. We felt bad kicking him out since he slept all day but we were just worn out.

Just caught up on all of your updates! I love the detail in which you write about the cruise. I would LOVE to do a Disney cruise or an Alaskan cruise one of these days, but I get car sick so easily. I KNOW I'd get seasick just like Kiss did. I'm so glad he was feeling better in your last installment!

The part that really intrigues me though is the food and how you can just order whatever you want and get more if you so choose because I'd load up on tons of appetizers! I also really like the idea of having everything so close by as there's no need to take a bus or something to your destination like you'd have to do for the Disney parks.

Looking forward to more updates :)

with apologies to the Apostle Paul; thou almost persuade me to take a Disney cruise. all of the activities, the food, out on the ocean, the food. i'm gettin' there but i always said me & maw were gonna take one when i retire. i might have to rethink that. anyway, what kind of dressing did you get on your wedge salad? looks like it could be a bit spicy. were the menus run of the mill or did they have some adventurous choices? you made it sound like that show with the "goofy" guy was a little on the 'blue" side. maybe by the time yoou finish this trip report you'll have sold me on taking a cruise. maybe.but i am enjoying seeing you guys enjoy yours.

What a fun evening! I never understood the whole FE thing I would see mentioned on the boards, but your post made it make total sense. Sounds like a lot of fun! I love that your dad made the dreamcatchers for his FE gift. :goodvibes I'm sure the people who received them really appreciated a handmade gift! Same for your buttons, they are so cute! I'm curious, is FE a DCL thing or a DISboards thing? Like do certain people sign up to do it, or do you just make/buy a bunch of something and put it in the rooms you see with an FE on the door?

Y'all are all so burned!! I burn so easily in the sun, which is mostly why I stay inside. :rotfl: Andy's poor face, that looks painful.

Very cool that you got to see Toy Story of Terror first! Especially because I know how big of a TS fan you are! We loved watching it on TV and Paxton thought the iguana/lizard thing was hilarious.

How fun that the characters were all just milling about! I like that Peter Pan's costume so much better than the one in the parks, too. :thumbsup2 I adore Tiana! Her dress is perfection.

Thank you so much!
I know there are medicine and those bracelets you can get, I believe that brad and sarah used them although I'm not sure how well they worked.
The food is literally one of the best parts of cruising! Its just like get whatever you like and when you are finished you just get up and leave, no check no tip, its all included. It spoils you so much!

The
"free" food whenever you want has sold me to the cruising life. Everything that you need is literally right there on the ship, it's a perfect vacation. it was Creamy Romano Dressing and Homemade Spiced Croutons, I enjoyed it a lot. They had some adventurous choices in my book but then again I'm somewhat of a picky eater. They had you main beef, chicken, sea food plates.
I really hope so after experiencing one for myself I feel like everyone should!

FE is a Disboards thing, but I believe many different disney forum boards have their own. For ours we had a meet and greet thread on the cruise line section where I believe there were like 4 different FE groups you could join. There was a main one that had quite a lot of rooms participating, we ended up joining one that had a smaller max amount of rooms in so it didn't become overly pricey to be involved in.
The sun can be your friend or worst nightmare...and boy were we feeling it that night. It's ok though because sunburn for me turns into a nice tan.
I was so excited and happy about Toy Story of Terror! it was such a cute short which at points creeped me out a little bit.
I don't know, I think I might like the park version because it replicates the movie version more. Tiana's dress though is beautiful!!!!

Breakfast Royalty
Today was a day at sea, so there would be no getting off the ship for us, we were forever stranded in the middle of the ocean for the day.

Today was an explore the ship day for us and with that we decided to sleep in a little longer than the passed days.
We woke up to Kiss knocking at our door. Then Gma came knocking, followed by Ma and Pa knocking. Who needs alarm clocks when you have family?
With everyone in our small room we discussed about going to breakfast all together at 9. They all left and we got ready for the day.
As we were leaving we noticed that there was some FE gifts waiting for us
One was a big full of things from Disneyland which included pens, postcards, smushed pennies, map coasters, and a Disneyland ornament.

And we also got a lovely FE gift from Poison Ivy and Johnny Quest, some jam, taffy and the cute Animator palate paint brush butter knife (Which has a funny story that will come near the end of the report)

Before we left we snapped a door pic, which brings us back to our old trip report days!

My sunburn seemed to fade into a nice tan

But there was still a little sting from it.
We made our way to breakfast which was at the Royal Palace. On our way there was a princess gathering in the main atrium

We were eating in the restaurant located right behind them, but we used the side entrance. When we entered we were welcomed from Pascal! (Warning: you will get attached to your wait staff…it will just happen!)

We were seated at the best table of the entire restaurant, the huge round table right under the glass slipper chandelier.

The Royal Palace is a sit down and order a meal, unlike Cabanas which was a buffet. I liked trying out all the dinning styles we could choose from for each meal and the best part it was all included.

Danielle, Adam, Brad and Sarah decided to join us and since the table only sat 10 they were placed at a neighboring table.

To start off our meal a CM walked around with a dish of doughnuts, pastries and muffins. I skipped this option because I’m not a “eat a huge breakfast” kind of person. Andy however enjoyed a glazed doughnut and Brittany raved about the muffin.

One thing about breakfast and lunch is that you will not get your regular servers since you choose where to go for these to meals as for dinner you are told where to go. Lucky for us after we ordered both Holly and Stephanie were working at the Royal Palace and came by to say hi.

Stephanie asked us how we got the best table in the restaurant, Gma responded with “I came in and told them a table for 10” :rotfl:

Stephanie then was kind enough to take a group photo and Holly jumped in as well.

A CM walked by and gave Holly some famous Mickey ears…unfortunately her eyes are closed

Holly and Stephanie had to get back to work, so we said our goodbyes and “see you later tonight for pirate night!”

Our food came out quickly after, I got a delicious breakfast 2 waffles with whip cream in the middle

Kiss ordered a trio meal which included a waffle, pancake and French toast

These 2 meals seemed to be the most popular choices at our table.
Alicia also ordered a hash brown with a side of Mickey

Kiss seemed to be to his regular self and enjoying food

During our meal we discussed Toy Story of Terror, since Kiss didn’t see it I told him the storyline of it because he said he probably wouldn’t go see it since we already did. And to this day he has YET to see it.

After a filling breakfast we all went our separate ways, us children went up to Deck 11 to Cabanas. Why you ask? To get second breakfast! (the sad but funny thing is that I’m not kidding)

We had some tea and potato cakes (literally you can never have enough potato cakes, potatoes are probably my favorite food)

After being filled once more from second breakfast we headed back to our room.

ya'll got some pretty nice gifts from that FE exchange. somebody had a good idea coming up with that. they've got some classy joints on that ship. this old hippie would stick out like a fart in an elevator in there. i ain't too much on waffles, but that whip cream and watermelon would do just fine. and of course a dough nut.i ain't seen toy story of terror either. but i did finally watch wreck it ralph. it ain't peter pan but it was pretty good. i teared up a couple of times. while you may have absorbed your sunburn into a tan, poor brittany looks like she's still embarrassed from planking ol roy disney. her sunburn was kind of painful to look at. bless her heart. i'm ready to see some more of the ship, so i'll await your next entry.

We got some really great gifts that I adore! Royal Palace is quite a classy place but you don't have to be classy to eat there...trust me! It is soooo good! I loved it. Wreck it Ralph is such a cute movie it's one of my favorites, the ending gets me every time. Yeah her skin didn't seem to like the sun as much as mine and it showed in those photos.

So fun I can't wait to do a cruise!

Disney Cruising is amazing! :thumbsup2

A Spoonful Of Sherman
We had some time before we had to head down to the Walt Disney Theater to see A Spoonful of Sherman, so we decided to go browse the shops again. Nothing was purchased because I wanted all the shirts. There was one that really stood out to us because it was like our life on the cruise

Around 10:30 we headed to the theater and found ourselves some nice seats close to the stage. During the wait we planned out what we wanted to get done today, and sang along with the parent trap.

Camera’s were not allowed during the presentation, a lady in the front row tried to take a picture at the very beginning but a CM came up to her and told her that was a no no.

A Spoonful of Sherman: Starring Disney Legend Richard Sherman
First thing I would like to say is this changed my life, as crazy as that sounds

Disney Historian Tim O’day introduced Richard Sherman and the curtains went up and out walked Richard Sherman.
They both took a seat and talked about Richard and his brother Robert’s experiences working with the Walt Disney Company. Some things they talked about was

• Writing music for Annette Funicello and because she had such a small voice they had to record her twice and put them together. After they talked about Annette they played a short video of her songs with the Album covers.
• Richard talked about all the movies him and his brother worked on and discussed the music. A lot of the music I knew and just never knew they wrote such as The Ugly Bug Ball, The Monkey’s Uncle, Fortuosity, and the Spectrum song.
• There was a section on the Spectrum Song about how some people didn’t have colored TV’s at the time so they had to create a song for Black and White TV’s so those people didn’t feel left out. They then showed the clip that aired on the Wonderful World of Disney
• A section all about working on Mary Poppins, which lead to them creating their own words up and how they would just throw made up words around until one worked
• Talked about Walt, which was probably the saddest part
Richard Sherman told us how Feed the Birds was Walt’s FAVORITE song and how Walt made him play it for him all the time. When Walt passed Richard said that he would still go up to his office and play Feed the Birds
• They showed a clip of Richard Sherman performing Feed the Birds in front of the Castle at Disneyland. Richard Sherman said that during the performance the sky was clear and one bird swooped down and landed right next to him and left. He told us that he believed 100 percent that it was Walt because it was his favorite song…..
• One of the last things they discussed was what he was working on now, which is working on The Jungle Book the Musical.
• To end the show Richard Sherman performed some of his and his brothers songs at the piano, the last song he said that some people love it other can’t stand it….It’s a small world after all.

I will not lie I was a little emotional after the show. Richard Sherman is the cutest man ever. I have become so obsessed with him in a good way. I recently watched a documentary called The Boys: The Sherman Brother’s Story and I definitely recommend it! It was so good!

Next we went up to deck 11 because we were in some serious need of ice cream.
While getting our ice cream we noticed that we were passing Castway Cay

And that the Disney Wonder was docked

While we were enjoying our ice cream both Disney Cruise Line Ships went into a Disney music horn battle.
We then noticed some familiar faces enjoying the Mickey ear once again

While we were enjoying a nice little chat with them Andy and Kiss went up a level to hang out with Pa

Just some Toy Story 2 playing!

truth be told I did not enjoy being outside at all, you could just feel the rays from the sun and my skin as well as Brittany’s just couldn’t take it anymore. I regret getting burned the day before because I didn’t spend anytime out in the pool except for the first day.

Looks like Brittany is feeling some pain

We headed up to the top deck because Ma had some Aloe in her bag. With some Aloe and Advil we were good to go.
Just some proof that we were actually out at sea because at times I didn’t believe it

Further out at sea we could see a storm a brewin

Luckily it was a blue skies and sunshine for us!

We got out of the sun because we planned on doing the Detective Agency, but before we did we went back for some more ice cream. This time we got a cup of pop and put some vanilla ice cream in it….BAM WE MADE A FLOAT!

Sorry Aurora We're On An Adventure

With our stomachs filled with ice creamy goodness we headed down to deck 5. We walked around looking for the kiosk which we found after being lost.

We decided instead of doing it all together that we would instead have a friendly race to see who could be the better detective&boys vs girls style!

Each group received a map of the ship and where each special photo was located along with a card that lets you activate the photos.
While we were getting ready to explore the ship in a way we never did before I enjoyed playing with a pirate picture where you steered the pirate ship. Pretty cool

Soon the race was on and off we went not knowing where to go first. We decided to stay on deck 5 while we were running we noticed Aurora just hanging out by herself, no guests taking photos with her, no character attendant, just Aurora!

Unfortunately there was no time to talk to her or take a picture because we were on a mission. She did however notice this and asked if we were on an adventure. We said yes and kept on running&sorry Aurora.

We ran all around the ship, it was definitely a work out. At times we got lost and other times we were held back from other people using the magic portal pictures. By one time we thought we had it but then it turns out we were all wrong!
We were confident that we finished in a good amount of time and ran back to the room just to find both Kiss and Andy hanging out&.BOOOOOOO!!!!!!

One rule was that you needed to film throughout the game therefore we knew you finished and didnt cheat. We had some funny videos of Andy and Kiss running down the hallways!

On the bed was some pirate bandanas for Pirate night later that night as well as some Pirate tattoos in our FE

We were running out of time for lunch so we headed down to Enchanted Gardens to try out their lunch. We were not allowed in until we washed our hands

We were one of the last groups to arrive because it was so close to closing time. We were seated in a far corner away from everyone again. We headed up to the buffet and got ourselves some grub

it was an ok buffet, I enjoyed the more variety up at Cabanas though.
Throughout our meal we talked about mine and Brittanys daycare lives and our children there. While Alicia talked about her princess life and the children she meets.

We tried to eat on the quicker side because it would be closing any moment. Once we had finished we went back to our room. There we all (me and alish) hung out in the comfy bed, Brittany tried to clean up our messy desk, Kiss and Andy went to Ma and Pas room to get our pirate outfits.

a good way to spend a rainy saturday, loading songs on my i pod and reading trip reports. you done good. this one was very enjoyable. just hearing Richard Sherman reminisce would have been worth the price of the cruise to me. me and my brother used to sing those wonderful songs in our youth. and dear sweet Annette, God rest her soul, all us boys had a crush on her. although my heart belonged to Karen. and through the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan, and the Who though Sherman Brother songs have a place on my i pod and in my heart. glad you got to experience that time with Mr. Sherman. i got a laugh when you mentioned a cup of pop. my cousins from New York would say that. we always called all soft drinks cokes. thanks for bringing back that memory. looks like being a detective called for some leg work. but i dunno, seeing a princess all by her lonesome... the call of chivalry would have to be answered. i still gringe seeing Brittany's photos. but it's the bottom of the 9th and the Pirates are coming up.

Finally all caught up. Sorry you got so sunburned...that's happened to me in Disney before and then I'm trying to walk in the shaded areas and look like an idiot! haha

That detective thing sounds really cool!
