YoHo, YoHo, A Mother's Day Trip to the Mouse!

This is what we did for our boys' spending money for our 2007 trip. Each person on the ressie gets a Key to the World Card. You can add charging privileges to those...individual ones or all, whatever you choose. We took all their cash and put it on our "account" at the resort. (It all goes on one account so you can't put different amounts on each card. ) Then we put charging privileges on only the kids' cards. They could use them at all the shops just like a charge card and the balance would be deducted from the cash you put on the account. I had to keep track of individual spending cause it's all on one account, but I just did that each night and let the kids know how much $ each of them had left. It worked so well. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 The boys did not have to carry cash in the parks and they loved feeling "grown-up" and charging their purchases. You can also get back any cash that is left at the end of the vacation when you check out.

Jeff and I just carried a small amount of cash for ourselves and then left the rest in the safe in the room. Be sure to take the key with you...don't leave it in the room somewhere. :goodvibes

I didn't think of that , that is a good idea!!!

I would get each of them a Disney Gift Card so they don't have to carry cash. If they have different styles, you could get each kid a different card so they know which was which or you could write their names on them. I think a gift card would be easier to carry around than Disney dollars too (if they still make them?)

Yup, i'm either going to put it on the gift card or our KTTW card!!

OMGosh! I was just checking out this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2142686 about the crowd levels this week. Your SIL's are dealing with some MAJOR crowds. They have actually closed the parks due to being full to capacity! Glad we are going in May and not spring break!

Oh MY GOD!!! I just checked it out, it sounds horrible!! I'm going to call them on sunday to say Happy Easter and see what they think of the crowds. I'm going to keep up with the post to get daily crowd checks. It sounds really bad!

They still do have Disney $$-got them at my local Disney Store. Think we will do a combo of a gift card and the dollars. Avery is very excited to buy things herself.

Oh good, I was wondering if they were still around.

I'm getting so excited for you... you started packing!!! Okay, I'm a little jealous too, I have SUCH a long time it feels. :-)

Hope Lizzie is on the mend soon, still sounds like ya'll made a really fun night out of it.

Yes, Lizzie is well, and I did get so excited packing!!!

Cute Car's night. Love the stop lights! :thumbsup2

How is Lizzie? Better I hope. :goodvibes

Yeah, just something I threw together quick though because I felt bad we all had to stay home. I gotta get a really good Disney night going!

Is everybody all better? I sure hope so. I am not going to buy Easter baskets this year, yes I still get baskets for Amanda and Tyler too ;). I am going to get them each a $25 Disney gift card and for Amanda and Tyler's birthday I am giving them $50 dollar prepaid Visa cards. They can spend them anyway they want, any where. I promised Dallas I would give him $100 for Disney and he wants some Disney dollars so I will give him $25 Disney dollars and then the rest on a prepaid Visa. I figure if he loses that we can get our money back.

Yes, we are all well here except for coughing but we can deal with that. We are good, thanks!

That's a good idea, I've been wondering what to do for my Tyler for May, we're trying to give him $100 for his birthday too...and was just wondering what kind of media to put it on. He wants his own wallet, which I'm skeptical, but I'll probably get him one, but he's NOT holding his military ID!!! Which is what he wants to do....I just can't lose that thing! LOL

Yeah, i'd be scared about them holding their own money in Disney World, with all of the rides and stuff. Be careful, he wouldn't want to loose it!!

I hope everyone is having a nice Good Friday:goodvibes It's about 65 degrees here today. We just got back from the park and we went to see the ducks at the lake near our house!!! It's a gorgeous day....but it's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow is supposed to be damp and cold. About 40 degrees. But being wet and damp it will feel like 30 degrees!:sad2:

I finished all of my Easter Basket shopping this morning when the girls were at My Mom's house! I'm glad that's done! I just wasn't in the Easter mood this year, It's just standing in my way of going to Disney World, so I'm just trying to get past it:lmao: No, that's a terrible thing to say!! We do love any holiday when the family all gets together!!!!! Easter is my Mom's favorite holiday, so I really am looking forward to it:goodvibes

Ok, I gotta go jump in the shower and get ready for work!! :scared: We've been outside all day, so i'm tired now, and ready for bed!!

My Boss gave this to me at work last night! It tells you where all of the Hidden Mickeys are. And there is also a spot where it doesn't tell you exactly where they are but gives you clues to find them. Me and the kids were just reading it. I figured it would be great for standing in lines, we could pull it out and see if there are any Mickeys in the ride or attraction that we're in line for.

Manny thought i was really crazy for taking a picture of our breakfast.

Is everyone getting ready for Easter tomorrow? Have a nice day!!!

I got that book for Christmas! I can't wait to use it! I love finding Hidden Mickeys!!

Love the pancake! Emily will only eat pancakes if they are Mickey heads! I'll only eat them with chocolate chips, so we make chocolate chip Mickey head pancakes!! I think we'll have some tomorrow morning!!

Ooo, chocolate chip pancakes, I gotta go by chocolate chips, I want some now!!! The pancakes do seem to taste alot better when they are shaped liked Mickey Mouse!

Well i'm off to work, I just burned my thumb on the curling iron. That really hurts:scared: I got a big bubble!

When I get in at midnight the "Easter Bunny" will be visiting!!!!!!!

I got my travel documents in the mail today, i'll post a pic of them later. The arcade voucher made Anthony happy!

Well goodnight and have a Happy Easter tomorrow!!!!!!!

You'll have to stop by and check out my most recent PTR update...we had the same breakfast this AM! Too funny! :goodvibes

It's beautiful here today too, but the sun is so deceiving....I'm sure it's about 45 degrees out there....bbbrrrr!

I know how you feel about lacking excitement for Easter. The trip just seems to take over!

Glad you got your travel documents..I know you've been waiting!! ;)

Happy Easter! Enjoy the day with your family!

I love your breakfast :) YUMM!

I JUST got ready for Easter myself. With Steve gone I've had NO time sans-kids. I got a lot done at lunch one day, but has been afraid to get choc... dont want it to melt in the car (hello, its fla.).

So today on his way out of town Steve took Catherine & I to dinner. I let her have some daddy alone time and ride with him so I could go to CVS and buy the candy super quick :) That was close!!

Have a great day tomorrow!!!

LOVE the Hidden Mickey book. Sounds like a super idea.

Happy Easter!!! :flower1:

I love hidden Mickeys. Josie is our best hidden Mickey scout. She sees them everywhere. Your pancakes are cute too. I will have to a make some for the girls. They'll bet a kick out of that. :goodvibes

Here are the baskets that the Easter Bunny left us!!

Here's one of Sam when she got ready, she looked like such a princess.

After we opened our Easter Baskets at home we went to my Grandmother's house for 1pm. My cousin put together a big Easter Egg hunt. She wanted to do it outside, but it was a pretty chilly day. So they ran through my Grandmother's house looking for Eggs.

Anthony pretended he was too old to hunt Easter Eggs....But he tore through our house when we woke up in the morning looking for the Eggs the bunny hid though!:goodvibes

Here are the girls looking through what was in the eggs. Some were filled with playdoh, some with candy and little toys. But....there was change in all of them. Well Anthony was pretty bummed out he didn't participate. Emily ended up with 11 dollars in change and Liz and Sam about 4 dollars a piece.

After we left my Gram's house we came back home and My Mother and Brother came over.
My brother's bags were full of Notebooks, crayons and coloring books for the plane. The girls were good with them and wanted to put them in the suitcase right away. I thought they would never last.

And my Mom got Lizzie and Sam Minnie Mouse Hats, sunglasses and flip flops, and Emily got Hannah Montana. They are ready to go to Disney!!!

Ok, and I was debating whether or not to post this picture, but I will... This is my brother. He is the funniest person you will ever meet. He is always doing something. We always thought he was going to be a comedian. Here he is ready to go Disney too (I wish he was coming with us, maybe next years trip)

DSCF0485.jpg

I would now like to post a nice picture of him, so you don't think he's a weirdo. I know I posted pics of him earlier in my report, but here he is.

And i'm going to do laundry, and piles of it cause I put it off all weekend:scared:

OH YEAH, AND ........29 DAYS TIL DISNEY WORLD. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT WE'RE FINALLY IN THE 20'S!!!!!!!!!!

We're finally down to weeks in my ticker, no more months!!!!!!! WOO HOO

Looks like everyone had a great Easter. Your girls look so pretty in their dresses. My brother is a big goof too. That's what I love about him. Good luck with the laundry. I despise housework...

ha-ha- I just posted a pic of my brother being a big goof with all the kids sitting on him on the couch watching a red sox game! I love all the pictures. The kids all look great in their Easter outfits!! I love the hats and sunglasses- so cute!!

Adorable pics of the girls! Looks like you had a great Easter!

Woo-Hoo for being out of the "months to go"! :woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks, we had a nice day, but are more excited to be down to only 29 more days to go!!

Laundry is done, it wasn't so bad:headache: Although I still have some to hang up. But my brother is always doing something, he is too funny!!

Thanks, and I saw the pic of your brother with the boys. It's very cute!! Ya gotta love brothers. And my brother does not have kids of his own yet, so he is all about mine, he's a wonderful uncle!!!

Enjoying your pre-TR! You have an adorable family! You're going to have such a magical trip!

A few things I wanted to comment on:

I have had good luck with earplanes so I would say they would be worth trying!

I would say my biggest tip for surviving the airport would be to try to pack light. I have often sent a box UPS to the hotel to keep our luggage manageable. BUT...my DH doesn't travel well and your 12 year old DS should be able to help too. Have you found a new suitcase yet? Have you tried Marshals, TJ Max or Kohls?

I would suggest that you don't pack one suitcase per person. I like to split my stuff up between suitcases so that if one gets lost one person isn't without clothes. BUT I must add that none have been lost! I do use the ziplock bag method for my kids and that really helps in the mornings getting dressed and we don't up with unmatched outfits at the end of the week.

Sounds like Lizzie is doing well with her shots. I had to travel with medicine that needed to be kept cold last year. When you check into ASMo if your room isn't ready you can ask luggage services to put the medicine in their fridge. I also had them hold it on my last day and had them refreeze my icepack for me for the trip home.

For your Hollywood Studios day I would recommend one adult runs (um...walks very fast no running allowed) ahead to get fast passes while the rest of your family gets in line standby. I bet you'll want to ride more than once!!!! If you decide to do Fantasmic! I would suggest you get a seat toward the top of the theater-that way you can get out faster. I do enjoy the show but it can be scary for little ones- it is a good vs evil story line-good wins in the end but it does get pretty evil in spots. My kids really enjoy Indiana Jones.

I LOVE your T's. I started out making iron on T's a few years ago then last May I got sucked into the disboutique thread over on the family board. I haven't stopped sewing since.

I'm sure you'll have a very magical trip!!!!

I'll just miss you-I'll be there 5/2 to 5/9.

It looks like ya'll had a wonderful Easter. The hat colors match the dresses your girls have on. It is fun to have a goof in the family. My oldest brother was one, all the kids would gravitate to him. He was like a kid trapped in a man's body . We hid our eggs inside too because I worked all weekend and by the time I got home it was almost dark so hiding them outside was out of the question.

:woohoo: You have your papers:woohoo: I am checking my mailbox everyday, impatiently waiting and nothing yet :sad1:

Cute Easter pics. Looks like lots of fun! Your brother looks like a great uncle!

Aww! The girls looked adorable in their pretty dresses! You can tell by their faces, they were having a ball! The hats and glasses are cute! I LOVE Emily's glasses, I might want to borrow those!!

We'll be seeing you in a few weeks...not months!!:cool1:

Bummer we'll miss you by a few days. But Thanks so much for all of the great advice. We're going to try out the earplanes for sure. And packing half and half in different suitcases is a wonderful idea. I am in a panic about a suitcase getting lost. That's great. I'm going to be rearranging suitcases this weekend.

Yup, keep checking your mailbox. I'm actually still waiting for ME tags AND the documents for one of our rooms, we have 2 connecting rooms, but one was paid off first. So I should have the stuff for the other room this week....I hope;)

Cute Easter pics. Looks like lots of fun! Your brother looks like a great uncle!

Oh he is a great uncle. He is wonderful. He told me that he is afraid to have kids of his own because he doesn't want to love them more than mine.:lovestruc I told him, he would be fine, he will still love my girls just as much as he does now.

I know, I do love the hats and sunglassed, I forgot to post a pic of the matching flip flops, i'll do that later.
We're going to the mall this week to pick out the matching bathing suits. I cannot wait to see those, My Mom said they were awesome.
and yes, I will be seeing you in a few WEEKS. Wow, it feels good to say WEEKS!!!
28 MORE DAYS:woohoo::yay::woohoo:
