GENEVA (AFP) - A giant inflatable dog turd by American artist Paul McCarthy blew away from an exhibition in the garden of a Swiss museum, bringing down a power line and breaking a greenhouse window before it landed again, the museum said Monday.

The art work, titled "Complex S(expletive..)", is the size of a house. The wind carried it 200 metres (yards) from the Paul Klee Centre in Berne before it fell back to Earth in the grounds of a children's home, said museum director Juri Steiner.

The inflatable turd broke the window at the children's home when it blew away on the night of July 31, Steiner said. The art work has a safety system which normally makes it deflate when there is a storm, but this did not work when it blew away.

Steiner said McCarthy had not yet been contacted and the museum was not sure if the piece would be put back on display.

That's one heck of a "piece of s(expletive..)"!:rotfl2:

I get this email thing every other week or so from something called the Disney Insider, I thought a few of you guys might find this interesting...
YOUR QUESTION
I was talking with a WW II vet, and he recalls Disney characters used as insignia for squadrons. He wondered if this was something the Disney Studio did for the service or was something done independently of Disney. He fondly recalled some of the training films that were produced by the Studio.

DAVE'S ANSWER
During World War II, Disney designed about 1,200 insignias for military units. The units would request the insignia, and Disney artists would prepare the artwork free of charge to the unit, as one of the company's contributions to the war effort.

My FIL's unit, the 3rd infantry had a bulldog made up by Disney studios. They charged a dollar for it.

That collection of cartoons is on a Disney Silver canned DVD set. I got them through Netflix. They were pretty good.

I think I'm showing our worries to our kids too much...my DD9 is upstairs practicing her guitar and she is making up a song. This is what I just heard....

I need money, money to pay my bills, every cent helps... I need money, money to feed my kids.... Gees! At first I thought it was funny, now I feel bad.

I went up and spied on her, my youngest(DD6) just through some change in her guitar case, :rotfl: , I'm not kidding.:rotfl2:

That's too funny. Put her on a street corner. People always feel sorry for kids, she might earn a buck or two.

Don't knock this as a way to make money. When I was in college, some of my friends and I went to Toronto for the day. We discovered we had spent all of our money and didn't have enough for the toll back. So we put a hat on the sidewalk and sang Mack the Knife. We made enough to get back home. Otherwise, we would have had to become Canadian, I guess.

This should tell you how bad things are with the gas prices and economy:
