YMCA fees - "Joiner fee" ???

Our Y ended its joining fee sometime last year due to the poor economy. Ours also has a flex rate (I think that's what they call it) where you pay a smaller monthly rate but they restrict your visits to non-peak times. I work out during my lunch break (the Y is in my building) so the flex rate wouldn't work for me. I agree that the web site should have the joining info and fee schedules posted.
Also, if you know of a friend that wants to join, I think some Ys offer a referral bonus. Our Y will gives a month free for every member you refer.
