We've never been to Universal but the world of Harry Potter caught our eye and made us look at it more closely.

I've been watching these boards very closely (thanks for all the wonderful info!) and spending a lot of time learning about Universal. I've gotten a little nervous about the ticket prices going up after HP opens, so I just bit the bullet and purchased 3 of the $99 unlimited admission tickets. I still have 3 more to buy that will come out of next month's budget.

I'm feeling both excited and nervous about taking the step from researching and contemplating to actually purchasing. :upsidedow Oh, I hope we like it! Now if those darn hotel rooms would just come down in price for December!

When we went Dec of 2008 I booked at a AAA rate in March (sometimes have to call for this) and just checked back once a week online for rates to drop. Eventually in October or November they opened up the Stay more save more rates for December so we got 6 nights for the price of four or something like that. All I did was call and they modified my rate for me hassle free. Since you have to book two rooms for your family size, if you can't afford it the whole time just book a couple of days onsite and also it's cheaper up until Dec 24th and crowds didn't really pick up for us until the 26th (the day we left.)

I think you are very wise to purchase the tickets now...I think the specials will be cut back or even cut out once Harry Potter is open.
