Yikes! Tornadoes all over the place!

OMG... just checked out the local weather, and there have been several tornadoes spotted in Virginia, and the weather system is heading right for us! We are currently under a Tornado watch here in Anne Arundel Co., MD... This is scarey!

Yeah, I was just chatting with a friend in Richmond, VA who had to go due to the nasty weather. Tornado warnings, hail.

It's like the end of the world down here! My DH is home now, and on the way spotted a tornado in the Massaponax area of Spotsylvania county, people were pulled over on the side of the road watching it! He was smarter and got the heck out of there!!

The weather is very unstable, so stay safe everyone. It's all heading towards Northern Virginia right now, but we are not out of the woods yet, they just keep spotting more "rotation" on the radar screens. Yikes!

I just posted about it too... They are rolling through Central VA. We have the birds in the basement and a dog under each arm ready to run.

Right now the closest tornado is 10 miles away.

This happened in Texas many years ago. A hurricane hit the east coast and then the remnants proceeded to spawn several tornadoes in the San Antonio area. Stay safe everyone!

This is crazy, I've never seen anything like this. The tornados just keep coming. The National Weather Service in Sterling has just confirmed several tornadoes on the ground right now!

As I look out my window, I don't like the looks of those clouds up there. This is unbelievable!

Yeah, a tornado touched down 8 miles from my sister's house in Herndon.

Here in Fairfax County it's just really ugly and dark.

I don't have a basement! I'm in a 4th floor apartment!

Well, we should all go into a room in the center of our dwellings (whether houses or apartments) with no windows and take cover there, if necessary. For me it will be my bathroom.

I can picture my two dogs and me crouched by the toilet now.

How do you guys know if a tornado is approaching? Do you have a weather alert radio or just keep watching outside?
Aren't there areas in the U.S. that have loud outdoor sirens?

No outdoor sirens that I've ever heard, not here anyway. The county I live in is so large that we probably wouldn't hear it anyway. We just keep informed via TV and radio.

We're getting hit with a bad thunderstorm right now, my satellite just went out as well. The lightening is horrendous!

I live near Dulles airport and they evacuated the tower earlier and evacuated some planes. We had a few tornadoes touch down near us! Thankfully, nobody has been hurt.

It's going to be a stormy night around here!
