I thought I would surprise my dh for his birthday with a Fort Wilderness tire cover now that they are finally in stock. I called merchandising mail order and the shipping to Canada is $50.00 !!!!!!!!! Ouch!!!!! The item was $50.00 to start with! I guess this will have to wait until we go again in a few years. lesson learned: if you see it buy it while you are there, it's way too much to ship. If it's not in stock then, it wasn't meant to be!

I think the shipping charges are unbelievable. I would buy more items from the states but I hate having to pay for the shipping. Good luck with the item...my fingers are crossed!

We did this on our last trip and it worked like a dream...Disneyshopping.com will ship to hotels if you are making a trip to the states. We went to Disney last month and I had placed an order online about 1.5 weeks before we left to ship to ASMo. I just put our arrival date in brackets in the address line along with the address of the hotel. Saved a ton of money as we got in on the free shipping event (which they seem to have all the time lately). Ordered a lot of the outlet stuff for both me and some co-workers. Saved on souvenir buying and got some xmas presents too.

We're going away to Michigan on the weekend and I did it again, placed an order last week so it will be there when we arrive. I just called the hotel (Hampton Inn this time) to ask if it was ok and they said absolutely no problem! I think someone else had mentioned this idea on the boards a while ago, I know I didn't think this up all on my own!

I'm heading back to the US for a shopping weekend in Buffalo in the fall. Guess what will be waiting for me at the hotel when we arrive? Yep, more xmas presents from Disneyshopping.com, plus a trip to the Disney store for sure!!!

Where abouts in Ontario are you? Snowwhite and I will be at Disney in Sept and would be happy to pick one up for you and send it to you when we get back or just drop it off if you happen to be somewhere we go. I work in the Cobourg, Port Hope, Peterborough areas. Let us know if this helps.

Rob (Snowwhite's DH)

Also the idea of sending to a USA hotel works as well if you are going there.

Can you ship something to a hotel, even if you are there for 1 night. Do they just receive it before you get there and hold it for you? I plan to go to Buffalo for 1 night and this would be something I would like to try.

My understanding is that some online credit card verification services use the address on the credit card statement for fraud prevention and may reject payment if the requested shipping address is different from the one on the cc statement.

Having said that, I've done this on our past two WDW trips and haven't had any problems.

Thanks SnowWhite for your very kind offer! However, I think I have figured out an option to waiting until our next trip. My Mom will be wintering in Florida this year and I will probably get it shipped to her. I called back and the instate cost is 10.95. I think the high costs to Canada include the customs fees etc. At least, I sure hope so! We have had a few things sent up under warranty for our RV from Indiana and the fees we get stuck with are terrible. We get dinged $50-75 every time!
Thanks again SnowWhite!

I appreciate the hotel idea - If we plan such a trip, maybe I can sneak a parcel under dh's eyes that way too!

We had items sent to us at WDW from a US company while we were at FW. AS long as your arrival information is clearly marked on the outside I imagine that any hotel would hold a parcel for you. Just call them ahead to be sure.
