yeti will definitely not be fixed??

The guy could have recorded that video 2 years ago and just finally uploaded it to youtube. Theres no way of knowing when the video was shot.

Thanks for the video, eljay! I had not realized before that we have never experienced A mode on the ride and thoroughly enjoyed it anyway:lmao:

Will the Yeti get back to "A" mode? Unfortunately, I will have to say no. Everything I have read has indicated Everest would need some lengthy downtime to fix the Yeti and I do not see this happening until we get some more attractions in Animal Kingdom. Closing Everest would kill attendance there and Disney cannot afford that in 2009.

Yeti AA = Not Working/B-mode
but worst is...

Cloud Effect = WORKING??? or not?
Station Steam = Not Working
Waterfall A = Working
Waterfall B = Not Working
Bird on a Stick = Not Working
Cave Mist = Not Working
Projection = Working
:confused3

Guess some of us are just glass half empty kind of folks. Some of the "extra" features aren't operating, true, but the ride itself is fully operational (and darn good). Yes, I've done both A and B modes - to me each has their own merits. If you've never seen A, you really aren't "missing" anything. Yes it's a cool effect and enhancement, but the B status doesn't ruin the ride.

Maybe it's just because I know Disney can do better, but I'd rather they shut down the ride for a long time than allow it to run on poor show conditions...

It's like Haunted Mansion without Madame Leota, or Pirates without the redhead to me. Disney can do better than let things run down, but they choose not to. That just disappoints me.

Maybe as frequent visitors to WDW only, many of you see it through rose-colored glasses, but compared to the other Disney parks/resorts, WDW is far behind in upkeep, rides, and showmanship.

I saw the Yeti in A mode last June, probably in it's last weeks. It makes me upset that the climax of the ride is no longer the superior figure it should be.

After you have exprienced mode A, your kind of dissapointed to go past it when it is not moving. Its a shame, hopfully its not difficult of a fix though. But, it makes a huge differnce in the overall ride expirience.

My DD9 will probably be glad to hear the yeti isn't swiping at people anymore. She rode it 3 years ago and told everyone she's never going on it again because the yeti touched her head with it's claw :rolleyes1 She was sure it was alive and touched her head!

I hope they can fix it. DH loves that ride.

I would rather have the yeti be in B mode then know that when it is on it is cracking the foundation of the ride and possibly making the ride unsafe.

You and my fiance' would be great friends! I read this and had to ask him if he had a secret persona on disboards! He feels the same way about WDW.

I don't always give WDW a pass on bad show, but on this issue I'm just tickled to know that in a wek I'll be riding EE. I probably won't care if it's in A mode, B mode. or X mode. I just want to ride it. :goodvibes

I hope they do eventually get the structural problems squared away. The yeti is too cool of an effect to just stand there forever.

For anyone who has been in the last couple of weeks....what is the status of the Yeti on EE? Working/not? I would love for my kids to see the proper version on our upcoming June trip.

They should take her/him out and I can take her/his place until it's repaired.

honestly, you go by so quick you cant tell if theres anything wrong with the yeti or not.
although ive never seen it when he moved it still looked pretty sweet last week when i was there.

If you had ever seen it swipe at you, you'd definitely see the difference. There is no comparison. I wish they'd fix it even if it means closing the ride during my trip. I want it fixed that much.

More than one effect is missing. How about the big white owl that used to raise up at the end of the first forward moving portion of the ride, where the tracks are yanked up (just before you start to go backwards)? Sorry, but I miss that white owl.:rotfl: I heard one of the problems with fixing the yeti is that the company that made her is now out of business.

I miss the owl too!
I also personally like referring to Betty as Dance Club Yeti
