Yeti Status?????????

The Yeti was not active during our visit in December. Anyone that has been recently, what is the Yeti Status? Moving or strobe??

Last week it was 'completely dark' but a DISBoard member did get a snap shot of him as they went by showing amazing detail - unfortunately I can't locate that post right now.

I haven't seen it working the last 2 years, it is very dissapointing because it used to work and it was the highlight of the ride for me.

I asked the workers before one ride if the yeti was working and they laughed and said its in b mode which means no. I am guessing by the way they laughed it rarely works anymore.

Last time I rode EE and it was in full operation, movement and everything was October 2007. It really does add to the effect if he's moving.

I heard it was working last week. My parents just came back Wed and they said it was working fine. Maybe it's an intermittent problem?

the reports I have read/heard is that the Yeti places more stress on the foundation that was expected. The foundation is starting to crack. It may take a rehab before we see him back in operation. Its a shame, because the strobe version does not cut it. This is a MUST SEE on this attraction.

Over our many rides during Christmas/NY we saw the shadow every time, but the Yeti itself only once.

I was also there Jan 5-12 2008 and it was working in full mode, with the arm swiping at us as we passed underneath.

I wonder if they are at least planning a shut down to repair the problem. I would rather have a shut down and then see it working fully again, than it stay open in anything less than all it's glory.

It was completely dark on the 4 rides I've taken on EE. I'm the Yeti Virgin from the other thread..... Had I not seen the great pic on the other thread I'd have no idea what I was even looking for!

Yesterday the strobes were on again.. When I took the picture it was black. So not sure if that is an indication of it will be black from time to time, but looks like there may be 3 operation modes for EE.

That was the one and only time i ever have seen it working and we go to WDW 4 or 5 times a year. It was amazing and really added to the ride. Everytime we go I hope it is fixed!
